USPS - Hostile Employees

Maureen of Pelham Manor NY (11/13/04):
I went to the Post Office at a few minutes to 12:00 on Saturday, Nov 13, 2004. The door was locked, and a large women came to the door (I do not know her name) and stated, "We close at 12:00." I stated it was not 12:00 yet, she stated, "It is by our clocks."

Movie Fans Suspect Foul Play at the Post Office

I pulled out my Nextel to confirm it was not yet 12:00 and after a minute she let me in. There were a few people on line ahead of me. As you can see by my receipt the transaction ended at 12:04 and I waited a least 5 minutes for the people ahead of me because there was only one person at the desk.

I asked the Cashier Who the Post Master is, and she stated there is no Post Master, I stated who is in charge and she asked me for what reason. I told her for a complanit. I could not understand what she was saying when the same big women yelled across the Post Office, "Malinda Roy."

I was walking out the door and I stated to the women you should post your hours at 11:45 not 12:00 because you are closing your doors early, this was not the first time I have been to this Post Office at 12:00 to notice everything shut down. She was rude and laughing, stating "Have a nice day" as she closed the door on me and I am seven months pregnant.

I am outraged that I am being shoved out the door of a Post Office at 12:04 and her thinking that this is funny. I have lived in Pelham for over 20 years and will not tolorate this type of behavior. I would like for this to be investigated. I could not get her name because I was being shoved out the door, and at that point I was concerned about my baby and my safety.

Cristal of Philadelphia (10/8/04):
I have had my mail on hold at my local post office since I recently moved and do not have a mail box. I have retrieved my mail from this same post office weekly, sometimes bi-weekly if anticipating a pay check. Today, I encountered an extremly hostile, beligerent man that ridiculed me for not having a mail box yet and belittled me for picking up my mail and made inferences that this was all because I was a female.

I am scared to return to the post office, I was nervous when I left there, crying. I don't how I will get the rest of my mail now and I don't want anyone else to be treated this way.

Kelly of Granite City IL (10/4/04):
The Postmaster (and staff) of the Troy, Illinois, Post Office apparently believe that customer service is not important. They never say "Good Morning", "Thank You", smile or anything. They all have frowns and no on in Troy looks forward to going to the Post Office. In fact, many people travel to Maryville, Illinois, to receive good service.

If the Troy Post Office were a business, they would not be in business very long. We understand that Postmaster Way thinks that no one can touch him because he has been with the Post Office for so long. We hope that someone can do something because both he and his staff are absolutely horrible!
