Postal Service May Seek Service Cut
Movie Fans Suspect Foul Play at the Post Office

Chris of Huntington Beach CA (06/08/06)
I recently shipped a package worth 500 from Michigan to California where I recently moved, anyways USPS looses the 3 foot x 2 foot 25lb package ( I think it was stolen, who loses a package this large!) The package was scanned by an employee here in town at 5am when he tried to deliver it! at 5am! Why not interview this guy and see whats going on? But no... Anyways, Ive spoken with 10+ customer service reps, 2 supervisors, and the manager at the local branch, and their replies are ok we can look for it, and they look for a few minutes then nothing.

So I put a tracer on the package, and continue to phone usps, contact postmaster general. So today, I speak with a USPS manager who tells me that The package is now considered lost, they will not continue to look for it, and I will not get reimbursed for the packages although I can fill out some form to make an effort to.

Don of Groesbeck, TX May 25, 2006

Don of Groesbeck TX (05/25/06)
I run a small business out of my home. I buy and sell over ebay and use this address to receive merchandise for resale. Or should I say I attempt to receive material from this PO. Out of the last five deliveries only once was I notified by the post office that a package was arrived and ready for pickup. The other four items needed to reported as missing to the sender and a tracking number obtained only to discover that the items had been at our po for over two weeks. The postal employees denied that the item was present at their location until the tracking number on an arrival notice was shown them at which times our merchandise was found in back. The only time that notification was given me by the PO, I took the yellow form to the counter and was then told that it was a mistake I had no package even after explaining that I was waiting on a delivery. Again the item did not appear until I went forward with a tracking order showing that the item was in PO.

The delay in recite of our merchandise required the duplicate purchase of these items which themselves were lost in the system thus delaying the fulfillment of our orders thus eroding the public confidence in our ability to complete our transactions in a timely manner.

Nancy of Coram, NY May 10, 2006

Nancy of Coram NY (05/10/06)
On Jan 28 2006 I went to the coram post office to mail a package to Florida 34609. Linda was my cashier at the post office. I said I want to send this package media mail and I want to insure this package. She put the transaction thru and then asked if I had receipts for the items.  I replied honestly and said no they were disney dvds, videos and cds I have collected for my daughter since she was born....and I didnt keep all my receipts from walmart etc. She said then you can not insure them. She deleted the transaction and redid it over with no insurance. Linda  gave me wrong information. I have since spoken to 3 postmasters and I have been told I could have insured it. Now the package is lost and nobody is helping me.
