Desert Dental

Las Vegas

Maurice of Las Vegas, NV August 13, 2009

I had dental work, starting 12/06 and completed this, in 10/07. July of 2009, we get a Dental bill of 1732.06. At time of service, we gave both our insurance information and the Desert Dental office told us more or less, what our cost was. We kept our copy, from this statement given.

I asked for a breakdown of why we owe this, and why are you just now telling us. I received, in the mail, copies, in very small print, of a pay log, along with someone else pay log, name and social security number of this person. Can't believe they sent this person's information to me. Now not trusting this office even more.

This pay log, is not helpful to me, it's a, you figure it out sheet, and why you owe, incomplete information.

I called Desert Dental again, as to this was not helpful to us, and to let them know I called the insurance offices, and they are both telling me different stories, but the insurance office sends me the back up of the payment history. Desert Dental does not believe me.

A few days later, I get an envelope from Desert Dental, with, get this... someone else private information, their name, address, health infomation and payment history, with a receipt of payment....wonder if I should call this person and tell them. This envelope was lacking proper postage, and we had to pay an additional .17cts. How could someone not know, a big fat envelope took more then basic postage. Just want to show how incompetient this office is, it's my point. I know my bill is wrong, I have had dental work, done in the pass, like I just had, and never paid this much, both my insurances agree.

Desert Dental is in my network, I've made a couple of co-pays at the time of service, no one told me back then that I owed 1732.00 or my co-pays would of been more...it's 6-mos billing time.

No one wants to figure out this audit, and I am wrongfully being billed and notice of being sent to a collection agency for this. As you can see, this office has made some big time errors just with us....in mailing private information to us, and lack of postage. Three years later they are notiflying us, an appeal for payment with our insurances is too late, if an error were found in their part, it's caught too late here. Why should I pay for their error. If again, this were found, if so...in a timely manner, we could either side, Dentist or insurance. I am asking that someone at Desert Dental along with both insurance companies look at who dropped the ball here...make honest correction to my dental bill, and whoever made the error, correct it, and not blame me and make me pay for this error. Thank You
