Dr. Richard BechtolAmarillo, TX |

Carla of Amarillo, TX October 21, 2009 I scheduled an appointment to be able to receive a shingles vaccine. It had to be administered at a doctor's office in order for my insurance to pay 100%. I was told by Dr. Bechtol and his staff that insurance didn't pay enough and I would have to pay the $200. I then called my insurance and they said they would and that he had to accept their payment because he was a provider for United Healthcare. They called his office and told them. Then, I called today to go by and get the shot and the insurance once again called them and told them that they paid $189 and at that time that said they would not accept it and that they would not give me the injection. I called and told the doctor's personnel that I was willing to pay the $11 difference and they said that the phone call had come from my office (which it hadn't) and that they didn't want to get crossways with the insurance company, so I needed to go elsewhere for the injection. I had done nothing to provoke this attitude and I feel that they have caused me a huge problem because now, I have to miss more work and start over trying to get another physician. They were extremely rude and unprofessional. Report Your Experience
