Tricia of Apex NC (10/23/03):
The class, which was supposed to complete in mid-July, finally finished on September 21st. The written guarantee of employment stated that we would begin receiving clients within 3 weeks of "graduating". Additionally, at the time I registered with CTS in March, I was told that they had clients "waiting for the first graduating class". This was reiterated to us throughout the class. Well the culmination of this $520 7-month adventure is that CTS never had clients, and is now going out of business (or trying to start up under a new name to avoid all the hundreds of students that want their money back.) I was laid off in March 2002, so my time and money are extremely precious to me. I lost my $520 investment and 7 months of my time. I also purchased a new computer monitor and printer in preparation for the home-based employment, totaling about $1000. Additionally, I will have to cancel a contract on a new home and lose a $2500 downpayment. One of my fellow students actually had her home go into forclosure because of her not getting this job as promised. Robert of Durham NC (10/23/03):
Damage Resulting: loss of initial investment, loss of residual income. |
