Strategic Ecomm Inc. (Oilcareer.com)

Luke of Walvis Bay, Erongo, Namibia (4/15/03):
I paid for Oilcareer.com to get me a job on an oil rig but they didn't get me one. The $197 I paid was supposed to given back to me according to their pay-back guarantee which comes into affect after 90 days if employment was not gained. I sent them various emails complaining about the situation but didn't get a satisfactory response.

The last email I sent them was as follows:

"Hi Oilcareer- I applied for your services at the end of 2001 and got various, I presume, server generated confirmation emails saying that my resume had been sent out. I had never submitted my resume to you so I enquired as to where I should send it and got what appeared to be another server generated email informing me that someone in Customer Service would respond timeously.

After a period of about 6-12 weeks a credit card statement had come through showing the U$197 which was credited to your account for the Standard Package but I still had not heard from your Customer Services Department after another enquiry. You stated then that if a customer was not happy with the services rendered, then a full refund would be paid after 90 days in accordance with your money-back guarantee. For this reason I sent emails to you requesting a pay-back but received no feed-back. Because I couldn't get the money back I asked EFF (Electronic Frontier Foundation) to look into it, but that didn't work out due to various reasons.

Now I have searched the internet again for help and came across Cosumeraffairs.com and other sites which black-list companies who, for one reason or another, have displeased their customers. I contemplated complaining to them about oilcareer but thought I would first send you this message in the hope of settling the matter without third-party help.

Incedently, your Disclaimer on the Oilcareer.com website states that "All sales are final and we offer no money back guarantees. Oil Career services makes no express warranties or guarantees and waives all implied guarantees, including, but not limited to the guarantees at our website www.oilcareer.com." and then in an email received today you say the following: "We offer a full and unconditional money back guarantee, so if you`re not happy with our service for any reason, or we don`t find you a position within 90 days, we`ll simply refund all your money without any questions asked."

I tried to go into the Member's area today but it rejected my email at login so I presume that my information has been taken off the system.

Damage Resulting: I lost $197 which should have been paid back to me. Therefore I am now appealing for your help in this regard so as I might get my money back. Please inform me as to the validity of my arguement.
