Late Fees, I was not aware that Blockbuster charged late fees again. I always turned in my videos a few days late so everyone had a chance to watch the movie. I was charged 16.94 for 2 movies. I will no longer use Blockbuster!

Another 16.94 charged to my account with there already high rental fees.

Blockbuster video charged my debit card 1.61 for a supposed late fee without prior notification or authorization. Furthermore, I was never notified that blockbuster would keep my husbands debit card information on file. I do not have an account with blockbuster.

They charged my account using his membership. They waited 30 days after the movie was returned (and determined late, in which it was not) and blatently charged my account without even a phone call or letter allowing me to settle the bill! 1.61 is not enough that my bank can help me with this legally, which is not my concern. With identity theft being what it is today and with this mentality of people that would treat CUSTOMERS in such a way, I am outraged.

I rented three movies at a Blockbuster in Tulsa and turned them in well overdue. In beliving their adds selling the idea that their are no longer late fees anymore i didn't think when I turned them in mattered at all. To my suprize one nite I attemped to rent a movie and I was informed that I owed over forty dollars! This was due to Blockbuster telling me that I had to buy the three movies. I have been a customer for years up until this.

They claim that they sent me info in the mail about such, after tring to convence me that when I signed up I was told about this. I was a costumer before this promotion even existed. So basicly they are charging me for movies that they in fact posess! I will NEVER rent or buy movies for them again! Blockbuster feels as though I owe them over forty dollars for movies that I turned in to them. I have none of their movies.

Ashley of Mechanicsville, VA November 4, 2008

Ashley of Mechanicsville VA (11/04/08)
I have been renting from Blockbuster for some years and have never had a problem. I have paid late fees when I had them prior to Blockbuster changing the policy on No Late Fees. I have now dealt with two issues within a month's time. Recently, since the beginning of October, I had returned a dvd that was late. Either way, it was returned and I was told that it was not in.

After searching the entire store, they finally found the lost dvd. They had slipped it into a section that was considered to now be owned (after paying the dvd fee, 24.40) by me. The dvd was returned one of the many copies it had. I still paid the ownership fee and now own a dvd that was orginally returned to the store.

Secondly, I received a call from Blockbuster saying that I had late dvds, after renting from the same store in only a 2-3 week time. I returned those dvds two or three days after renting them out. I went into the store tonight and complained. The person at the counter wrote down the numbers and searched for them throughout the store. She found them both and took both late movies off. She was very polite about it.

But, now, after dealing with issues twice of late movies, I have decided to end my membership and make sure that this does not happen to anyone else I know, or they know. I hope everyone takes this into account and does not have the same problems I have had.

Paying 24.40 and now owning a movie that was orginally returned.
