BMG Music Club

Rainbeau of Manhattan, KS October 5, 2009

I had a Sound and Spirit account back in 1999. Paid in full and canceled my membership. Just this month, October of 2009 I have a 33 dollar collection account that is showing on my credit report. I have not recieved communication from this company since 1999, and dont recall still owing them money.

I got onto their website to call and get more information and it says they are out of buisness. Every phone number listed for BMG just rings and rings, with no answer. My credit report shows an account still at collection. Its hurting my credit badly!

Felicia of Manchester, MO October 2, 2009

Like many others a claim showed up on my credit report for CD's I never ordered. The number I have found for them has no answer. This happened to my husband also - he was able to find a number and get it removed from his credit report. He can't find that number now, but if he does I will post it for everyone.

Tommie of Burlington, NJ September 30, 2009

i was in the process of trying to buy a home only to find that there was a claim on my credit report from national credit solutions on behalf of bmg music. i never even knew it exsisted. i never received a bill or a notice from bmg concerning this bogus claim nor did i receive any notification from ncs pertaining to this claim. i contacted ncs several times to get verification of this claim never to receive anything.

i spoke to a women named marci. everytime i spoke with her she lied and said the verification was on the way and tried to get me to just pay the 167.14 for a 15.00 cd that i don't have. i do not owe them a dime.

this is fraudulent activity there has to be a way to put an end to these two crooked companies. where is the help for the consumer that is being held prisoner by bmg and ncs. they are not being held accountable for their actions? as a result of this claim on my credit report i have been unable to get approved for a mortgage

John of Seaford, DE September 28, 2009

Recently I checked my credit report as I try to do annually and noticed a bogus account to BMG Music Service for 155.56 that had been sent to National Credit Solutions for recovery. WHAT?? I did not have an account with BMG!! I immediately disputed and got a response of "verified account". The next day I received a letter from this National Credit Solutions (they got my address from the credit report dispute. I called right away and spoke to an 'Amanda' and she said I owed it. I of course said the contrary and I asked for the original debtors phone number in which she could not provide and she told me that I needed to PROVE to them that I didn't owe this bill? HUH?? Thats a little backwards I explained and demanded they PROVE that I owed it. Then she threatened to hang up due to my "tone" where I in return did us both the favor and hung up myself to research this further. I found 2 numbers for BMG which were disconnected and then found THIS website..WOW..17 PAGES of people standing in MY shoes!! and it hit me..it was FRAUD at its finest! I couldn't believe it! Now I am following suit & forwarding this info onto all parties involved...What else can we do? I don't know how to get this off of my credit report.

William of Pensacola, FL September 28, 2009

I recently obtained my credit report and found that it contains a collection report for BMG Music Service reported through National Credit Solution (NCS). It states I have a balance of 198, but I've never purchased CDs with BMG. According to other posts about BMG, NCS is not cooperating with other people who have been wrongly reported.

Pamela of Watertown, NY September 25, 2009

I tried to take out a loan at my Bank I already have a loan threw and was told that it had been denied due to something else being assed to my credit report. The thing thatwas added was BMG Music club and NCS was handling it. I called to let them know that I have never ordered or attepmted to oder anything from this company, that this acct is not mine.

And was told that there was nothing I can do about it that it will remain on my report untill it is paid in full. This acct is not mine it was done back in 2005. DEnied credit and has made my credit score go down after thrying to build it for the last 2 years.

James of Derry, NH September 24, 2009

I am closing on a mortgage next week and I just found out that a dispute that I filed back in May of 2009 against BMG Music was never acted upon. I never authorized, ordered, and never received any product or service from BMG Music. I contacted the supposed collection agency, National Credit Solutions otherwise known as NCS, to inquire about more information on the dispute.

I wanted to resubmit the dispute and I was told by Corey at NCS that you can only dispute a transaction once and I can't dispute again. I was also told by Corey that I need to "suck it up and pay the debt off." I told him I would be contacting a lawyer because they wouldn't honor my dispute and wouldn't give me any information on an account that was supposedly mine. He hung up on me as soon as the word lawyer came out of my mouth.

After being hung up on 5 times I looked BMG up online to find numerous complaints against them. The account they are claiming I owe money on was supposedly opened in April of 2003. This did not hit my credit report until December of 2008 (almost 6 years later). In the interim between 2003 and 2008 I never received any correspondance or bills from BMG or NCS.

I did contact the Federal Trade Commission and submitted a formal complaint against both BMG and National Credit Solutions. I could end up losing my first home because of this. If I do lose this house because of this collection action on my credit I will also lose over 3000 from a deposit that was put on the house. My credit has been significantly impaired by this.

James of Orland Park, IL September 23, 2009

First Off, Let me clarify this. I have never opened nor had a BMG Music account in my entire life or ordered anything form BMG music. About four months ago I have been having a National Credit Solutions company calling my phone and threatening to put a debt on my credit with 212.00 balance from BMG music that I have never had. I then called bmg music and they stated that they made an error and were correcting. WHICH WAS A BIG LIE! Now, about a day ago I have National Credit Solutions threatening me again about this bill. I stated that i did not know again and they were still not believing me. So i hung up and called THE FTC Federal Trade Commission and filed a complaint against BMG. I suggest that if this happened to you. You do the same! They will investigate and take action once enough complaints are filed. I also talked to a corporate Exec. from bmg direct which will be getting back to me.

chantale of redford, MI September 18, 2009

I recently obtained my credit report on August 09 and there is a collection account for BMG Music placed on by National Credit Solutions. I have never utilized this service nor have I ever received any documentation from this company. I disputed it and they validated it by using an address and name (An address that I used as a mailing address in 2005 while relocating to Florida )yet they stated the order I supposedly placed was in 2003. They have no other documentation, billing statements, anything at all to validate this debt.

How can a company place a debt on a credit report when they do not have documentation. I never even received a letter from them until I disputed it with the credit bureau and miraculously I received a debt notice. This is negatively affected my credit score and my overall credit standing. They are using unfair debt collection practices as they did not notify me of any debt during the 6 years they stated I owed this debt.

Robert of Raleigh, NC September 18, 2009

I received a debt letter from National Recovery Agency for a CD charge from 2006 for which I have no clue as to what they are talking about. I did have problems trying to stop CD's from BMG and kept sending them back. They finally stopped but kept wanting me to come back and buy more. If BMG thought I owed them then they should have contacted me before now 3 years later.

The Recovery agency made a threat that my credit would be ruined then hung up, I called back to try and get more information and got another rude ass who did the same thing. What gives.
