BMG Music Club

James of Orland Park, IL September 23, 2009

First Off, Let me clarify this. I have never opened nor had a BMG Music account in my entire life or ordered anything form BMG music. About four months ago I have been having a National Credit Solutions company calling my phone and threatening to put a debt on my credit with 212.00 balance from BMG music that I have never had. I then called bmg music and they stated that they made an error and were correcting. WHICH WAS A BIG LIE! Now, about a day ago I have National Credit Solutions threatening me again about this bill. I stated that i did not know again and they were still not believing me. So i hung up and called THE FTC Federal Trade Commission and filed a complaint against BMG. I suggest that if this happened to you. You do the same! They will investigate and take action once enough complaints are filed. I also talked to a corporate Exec. from bmg direct which will be getting back to me.

I recently obtained my credit report on August 09 and there is a collection account for BMG Music placed on by National Credit Solutions. I have never utilized this service nor have I ever received any documentation from this company. I disputed it and they validated it by using an address and name (An address that I used as a mailing address in 2005 while relocating to Florida )yet they stated the order I supposedly placed was in 2003. They have no other documentation, billing statements, anything at all to validate this debt.

How can a company place a debt on a credit report when they do not have documentation. I never even received a letter from them until I disputed it with the credit bureau and miraculously I received a debt notice. This is negatively affected my credit score and my overall credit standing. They are using unfair debt collection practices as they did not notify me of any debt during the 6 years they stated I owed this debt.

Robert of Raleigh, NC September 18, 2009

I received a debt letter from National Recovery Agency for a CD charge from 2006 for which I have no clue as to what they are talking about. I did have problems trying to stop CD's from BMG and kept sending them back. They finally stopped but kept wanting me to come back and buy more. If BMG thought I owed them then they should have contacted me before now 3 years later.

The Recovery agency made a threat that my credit would be ruined then hung up, I called back to try and get more information and got another rude ass who did the same thing. What gives.

Heather of hackettstown, NJ September 16, 2009

I recently checked my credit score as I am looking to buy a house. I discovered that my credit score lowered almost 80 points because of a collection account from BMG. Not only have I not used BMG for almost 10 years, but I never received any letter, bills etc.. regarding the account. My parents are still at that address so they would have received it. The collection agency said they could not supply me with any paperwork or "proof". They told me that I could pay a small portion over the phone right then via credit card and they would erase all debt. I refused to do this as I would NEVER give my credit card over the phone.

Twana of philadelphia, PA September 3, 2009

I recived a letter stating that I owe bmg music services A debt of 146.52 for an account that I never had. This account that I was supposed to have opened stating back in June 18,2004.this was 5 years ago.I never recived any mercandise or billing statment from this company. i never heard anything up until now. I was contacted by national credit solutions about this account. they stated that this information was on my credit report. How can i be liable for an account that i never heard of until now.I tried to contact bmg but they are no longer in service.why should I have to pay for something i never purchased or new about.

Shannon of Supply, NC September 3, 2009

My husband was falsely billed in 2006. He contested it repeatedly. Following his death on April 26, 2008, I discovered they were still billing him. I sent them a death certificate and was assured that was the end of it. On August 31, 2009, I received a phone call from NRA, a debt collector, asking for my husband and trying to collect on a false debt. I have tried to contact the company, but the phone number I found online for customer service routes me to other foreign countries. The representatives in these countries cannot help me, direct me to someone who can, or give me a phone number for someone in the United States that can help me. What they are doing is wrong and illegal.

Larry of Roanoke , VA September 3, 2009

My wife and I went to Consumer Credit Counselor, due to my loss of job and found that we had a Collection from BMG/National Credit Solutions for 199.00 for an account that was supposedly opened from a former address that we held over 2 years ago. We have never had a BMG account, ever and never opened an account. We disputed with Experian, they came back to say it would remain on our Credit Report because it had been Verified that it was ours. Even with my loss of job and a 70 percent decrease in our income we have managed to keep everything except for our medical insurance. We have not been late on any bills or our mortgage. Now to have this, on our very good credit report is insane. I will keep fighting to have it removed.

Joshua of Seattle, WA August 31, 2009

I never opened an account with BMG Music Service, nor have I received any items, bills, or statements reflecting any account. I have disputed this record on my credit file with Experian, and National Recovery Agency claims it's a valid debt, which it's not. Now they are trying to collect on it after I notified them and they never notified me.

Loss of credit, poor credit score, denied for credit card and loan and countless hours and undue stress and suffering becasue of it.

Nicolle of Olathe , KS August 31, 2009

An account in collection status appeared on my Experian credit report (opened 12/08), claiming that I have a delinquent payment due to BMG Music Service in the amount of 166. I have no knowledge of this account and have made no purchases from BMG for over a decade (or more). I have disputed this item on my credit report and I am waiting to hear back. I have read the numerous other complains on the Consumer Affairs site and my situation is exactly the same. My credit is very good and like others in the same boat, I plan to fight this as there is clearly fraudulent activity on the part of BMG or NSC or both.

Wayne of boynton beach, FL August 23, 2009
