Complaints about Moviepass.tv

We can't say for sure, but Moviepass.tv appears surprisingly similar to Movieland.com, doesn't it?

Roderick of Rancho Mirage, CA April 15, 2006

I never signed up for moviepass. I can't work on my computer with all their pop ups.

There is no phone number to call and so moviepass jams my computer with these popups.  I don't want moviepass, I don't owe moviepass, and I will never get movipass.  All I want is for them to stop the popups.

Billy of Cathedral City, CA April 15, 2006

Popup ads want payment for something I do not want to subscribe to. I have all firewall and anti virus programs running, but the ad still pops up each time I go on line.

The ad states that the 3-day free trial period has passed and now the only way I can stop the pop up is to pay a monthly or yearly fee. I cannot contact anyone to talk to.

Katrina of Detroit, MI April 14, 2006

I am so upset that the Moviepass.tv ad keeps popping up everytime I am on the internet. One of my underage children probaby ordered not knowing what the heck they were doing or didn't know what they were getting into.

Max of New York, NY April 14, 2006

There is this software from moviepass.tv that always pop up on my screen which claim that I installed it to my computer but I never did. I was not home at the time they claim the installation was done and it says that I should chose a payment option in order to stop the payment reminders. I never signed up for any service from them and I would like them to stop sending me that pop up.

I don't even want to use my computer because every 5 minutes it pops up and it is annoying.

Melanie of Nampa, ID April 13, 2006

I was using my computer and suddenly this notice popped up playing horrendous music saying I owed money for a service I didn't subscribe to. I know for fact I never downloaded it especially at the time and day they say I did. I couldn't continue doing my research because I couldn't get the notice to go away. They have no options other than to pay. The links to "about us" and "customer service" are bogus. When I clicked on those links it just took me back to the payment options. I finally clicked the "general question link" and told them I was going to report them to the FCC and BBB online. I also told them I was going to get as many other miffed people I could find and file a class action lawsuit against them.

When I clicked the send button, an option to "cancel service" came up and of course I selected it. It said my service was cancelled sucessfully. I thought that was the end of it. I thought if I restarted my computer the notice and horrendous music would be gone forever. Wrong answer, sure enough the notice and unbearable music were back. I can take a lot of things, but don't mess with my family, my dogs, my money and especially my computer.

David of Pottstown, PA April 3, 2006

Everytime we get on line a Moviepass.tv ad shows up saying we owe them money for a service we didn't cancel. I am the only one that can install software on this computer so I know for a fact I never ok'ed this program and that is why I think it is a scam. We have been harassed for four weeks.

I bought pop-up blockers and spam catchers but this keeps getting through, I think using our IP address.

Carol of Knoxville, TN April 2, 2006

Brand new computer and I think maybe my son downloaded this Moviepass.tv without knowing what he was doing.

They are always interfering with me being online.  There is no way to contact them except to agree to pay and I wil not.

Keith of Orlando, FL March 9, 2006

Apparently my 9 year old son downloaded something from a pop up ad.  I assume the pop up explained the conditions for downloading, but my son had no idea.

Now I guess the trial period for downloading has ended and moviepass.tv is expecting me to purchase a contract. The pop up today stated I was responsible for purchasing a contract or would be taken to collections.

There is no phone number on the website, and the only thing anyone can do is send an email. This is a heck of a scam they are pulling.
