Here's what Ticketsnow.com has to say and here's what its customers say:
Heidi of Fair Oaks CA (02/10/09) I thought I was purchasing really great seats for a CAKE concert when in fact I was charged over 300 for two 35 tickets. I had no idea TicketsNow was a broker company. The TicketsNow website pops up automatically and it looks like just another way to purchase tickets. I was horrified and NEVER Would have purchased them had I known. I thought I was getting really good seats for my husbands birthday.
When I saw the face value price on the tickets I called the company, which took forever to get through, and complained. All I wanted was my service charge 40 reversed, because I felt like an idiot for not knowing what they were all about. The company's disclosure is not that easy to find and for someone like me who used to buy tickets over the phone or stand in line, its very discreet and hard to find. Im VERY angry. Im totally stressed as this was going to be a special surprise and already a financial stretch.
When I got off the phone I realized what happened and I started to shake and panic, feeling like I had just been taken to the cleaners. I spent a total of 4 hours trying to contact someone to get my money back. The next day I called them again (another hour) to tell them I wanted my 40 sevice charge. All they said they could do was refund my shipping 14 maybe! I dont know what to do Im very angry! Frank of White Marsh, MD February 5, 2009
Frank of White Marsh MD (02/05/09) Glad to see so many other have been ripped off by Tickets Now. I too attempted to buy Jesus Christ Superstar Tickets and was unknowingly redirected to Tickets Now, which is owned by Ticketmaster. Thinking I was buying great seats, I paid a total of almost 700.00 for two tickets. When I received the tickets, the actual value was 57.00. Ticket Now has basically said you should have read the web site first - no refund!
I asked for a supervisor and was told one would call me within 24 to 48 hours. I will be filing a formal complaint with the Maryland Attorney Generals office today. Later I was able to actually buy better seat from the real Ticketmaster site for 138.00. Unbelievable! Beware - the redirection to a ticketmaster owned broker/scalping site is certainly no accident.
Rich of Woodbury, NY February 4, 2009
Rich of Woodbury NY (02/04/09) On 1/13/09 I tried ordering tickets for the Grateful Dead from the venue, Nassau Coliseum. The internet link automatically directed me to Ticketsnow.com which is where I placed an order for 4 tickest. One week later I found out that I was grossly overcharged. Instead of paying the 90.00 ticket price I was charged 252.00 each plus 37.80 each for handling (???) plus 14.95 for Fed Ex delivery (even though the event is still 5 weeks away!). I thought I was paying scalper prices for a sold out concert, because the venue apparently directed me to this website, but I learned that tickets were, and still are, readily available from the Nassau Coliseum.
Overcharged 814.00 above actual ticket price. Jodi of Brooklyn, NY February 4, 2009
Jodi of Brooklyn NY (02/04/09) When trying to order tickets on line through TIcketMaster one is automatically redirected to this site to purchase tickets. When attempting to purchase 2 tickets for Bruce Springsteen's show at the Nassau Colleseum on May 4th 2009 I clicked on a pair offered and assumed the price listed was for both but in actuality was for EACH... The bill I then received is over 500 for 2 tickets whose face value is less than 100 each.
I cannot afford to pay for these tickets and think that the website preys upon people with insufficient warning and/or information about who they are and what you are actually purchasing. Beth of Cold Spring Harbor, NY February 4, 2009
Beth of Cold Spring Harbor NY (02/04/09) On January 13, 2009 I logged onto the website for Grateful Dead fans to buy tickets for their upcoming concerts on Apr. 24 & 25. The tickets were to go onsale at 10 am. I logged onto the site a few minutes early to make sure that I could get the seats I wanted. After trying to copy the words that Ticketmaster put onscreen and having it fail to connect, I was redirected to a button that said buy tickets now. I then was sent into a different ticket service. I was not concerned because it said that Tickets Now is a division of Ticketmaster. I ended up spending over 2000 for 4 seats that were in the 90 price section. On top of the unbelievable price, they charged an additional 85 for a service charge.
The upshot is that there are still tickets remaining at the original price. Ticketmaster, I believe, knowingly set up this site as a way to confuse a ticket buyer. Shani of Pittsburgh, PA February 3, 2009
