21st Century Legal Services

Roderick of corvallis, OR October 28, 2009

My story is simular to some of the other people who have used this company 21st Century Legal Services to provide a modification with my present borrower at a 4% loan rate. This company stated that present mortgage payments will not have to be paid for 3 months while 21st Century processes the modification with my mortgage banker. I paid 834 upfront on July 30th when the lady courier came and did the agreement paperwork. I also wrote two other post dated checks on 9/2/09 the other 10/02/09 to cover there service work for the modification.

So to make a long story short nothing got done by 21st Century. They did call early on twice for the need for more information for me to FAX to them such as updated banking statements, tax records etc. As of this past month it's like they fell off the planet my calls which were frequent never got returned no one would answer the phone calls or return phone messages I made.

Emily of Tupelo, MS October 27, 2009

One day my neighbor informed me of this company called 21st Century who was supposed to help with a loan modification to lower my monthly mortgage by lowering my interest from a 9.25% to a 4%. Well I was kind of skeptical about making this decision because it "sounded" to good to be true, but hey on the other hand, my mortgage was going from 800 to 450. So I continued the process. Well a couple days later, a public notary came out to my house to take my 3 checks and let me sign legal documents.

The next month, I got worried because no one contacted me from 21st Century about the status of my loan modification, so I started calling about 5 times every day. I began getting the automatic voice system. Now, I am about to lose my home to foreclosure. I don't know what to do. If there's anyone that can help...I am opened to any and all suggestions.

Cornelius of Detroit, MI October 27, 2009

I received a call from this company a few months ago. They told me that they could help get our mortgage payments lower due to Obamas plan. They said that it would cost us 1500.00. A notary republic came to our home with documents for us to sign and for us to give them three blank checks. My husband gave his checks. Are first payment of 596.34 was to begin in October 2009. They only took out two payments of 501.00.

I tired to call this company on numerous occasions and I never got a response back. We just recevied our mortgage statement and we now owe 8,043.97. They never contacted our mortgage company. What are we suppose to do now? We what our money returned! We are struggling to make it and we need help. We don't want to lose our home. We are very stress out now. What do we do now? Who do we call? Who do we contact now?

George of Lancaster, OH October 26, 2009

I was contacted by 21st Century Legal Services regarding an incentive by Obama to assist homeowners with a program called (Home Loan Modification)and it would save us 365.36 a month, and only cost us 1,550.00, well I jumped on that (BAD MOVE) they didn't tell us that it was only good for 4 months and that the money we would save we wouls have to pay back, and that my credit rating would go from very good to no good. We may lose are home and if we don't, I will no longer have my 401k because I will have to take the money out of it to pay the back (5/3 bank) 3,0000.

Sandra of Norwalk, CA October 22, 2009

I was contracted by 21st Century Legal Services back in December 2008, regarding an incentive by President Bush to assist homeowners with a program called Home Loan Modification. I was asked to sign a contract that I would make three (3) payment of 800.00 ea, one for January of 2009, February 2009, and the last one for March 2009. My new modified payment was supposed to start April 2009.

I have constantly tried to contact this company over the telephone to no avail I had left numerous messages my home phone number, my work phone number, and my cell phone number.

Due to this company unprofessional practices or knowledge my credit rating has decreased due to being late with my monthly mortgage and late charges had been applied to my two late monthly mortgage, I am being harassed my Bank of America every day demanding payment in full. Money that I don't have since I am a single parent. I am spending more money that I don't have trying to bring my mortgage up to date, I've had to see the psychiatrist due to stress, anxiety, and depression.

Nadine of Long Beach , CA October 14, 2009

I am totally displeased with the service and the representative. My daughter is 25 & she helps me with my business. I am 68 & has suffered from an aneurism (broken blood vessel in the brain)due to stress. My husband was a veteran and he died honorably & left us this house. I had only been renting up until this time. My husband had emphysema and died. Make a along story short. I was with Countrywide they went out of business and Bank of America took over my account. Instantly, someone came out & the next statement i got was 2x higher and it was an adjustable rate. I am on a fixed income. I recieve social security.

Now my brother-in-law moved in to help me but he is permanently disabled (wheelchair bound). I am truly stressed. My daughter was at work discussing different options with one of her co-workers when David got wind of it and HE rushed to "aide" us. He made it his business to put his character & integrity on the line for this company. He told me a million times how credible the company is & how I was in good hands. Then after the paperwork was all said & done. It became hard to get in contact with him & then he switched companies in the middle of things. Then the company itself switched names & began to give me the run around. I am becoming furious just thinking about again!!

DAVID of IONE, CA September 30, 2009

They called me And had My info about my loan and what i still owed. They set up a appt with me, They sent a lady notery person for me to sign, I did sign on july 16th giving them 2000.oo dollors in a check form. I was told they were to fax it the next day and my loan should be Changed in about 30 days. At the time I was a 45 days behind on my mortage payments. I am disabled for life due to injuries and have limited income.

I called and called and called, Got the run around, Hugn up on, and Was told everything is just fine. All the while my leander was calling for payment. 21 centery told me to not talk with them that they would handle it for me and to just give them my number. I was told the late months were to be added to the back end of the loan if not Dropped all together.

What a fool I was... I borrowed money from a friend to pay for a much needed surgery 6000.00. the day It went into the bank I got hit up by my lender asking for 90 days back morgage with fines or I lose my house. I paid, I am about to loose the use of my right hand like I lossed the use of my left. I am now again behind on my mortgage because I was Robbed at gun point, beaten and put in the hospital. I am a Divorced Father of two Children a boy 9 and a girl 8. I have worked most of my life, My house is the one thing I have to show, Everything else has been sold or taken. I wish I did my homework....If this helps anyone then I am Glad I wrote it.

Karilyn of Villas, NJ September 18, 2009

I received a call from the above company stating the they could help lower my interest rate and modify my mortgage. They sent someone to my home to sign all the paperwork, all this took place in June 2009.They asked for four post dated checks for the fee for their services. When I tried to get in touch with them in late Aug early Sept they would tell me that they would have someone call me back, this went on for a week and when I tried to call the last time phone number was no longer in service.I stopped payment on the last check they were going to cash.

I was in need of help due to a car accident and getting further behind in my bills, they have caused me a great of stress,I am now trying to save my home so that the mortgage company won't foreclose and put me and my three children on the street, because of these people I am out 1800.

portia of evergreen, AL September 16, 2009

first of all, be aware of this company....there should be a lawsuit out for the way they handle business.. my story i recieved a phone call(recording) about how obama is helping people to refinance and modification(lower your payments) for people that are struggling press 1 to speak to a specialist, so i press 1...at this moment it ruin my life. i talk to a hugo and he assured me that this company can reduce my interest rate to fix 3.5% and fee of 1,295 broking into 3 payments. he stated that a notary will come out to your home, advised me of the personal info i needed to gather up, and to have my first payment. he and the notary assured me that the company will get in touch with my mortgage comp to informed them of the modification and send the package over. this never happen. they informed me that i do not have to tell my mortagage company anything.. my mortgage comp never got a package and they never got in touch with them. i start to receive calls and letters from my mortgage company, so i call them. i informed them what was going on. they informed me to get back in touch with them to see when they are going to send the package over also to beware of fraudant company's.

so, i tried to contact them got the run around, everytime..numbers not working, automative system, and we will get back in touch with you..(taking name and number) talk to a supervisor and she assured me that the package will be sent over within 10 days...it takes a little time. i should of stop payment on my 2nd check at this moment, but i didn't. the final straw, after 2 weeks i cb and the number stated that we are currently having problems with our lines, press 1 to be transfered over, then a busy signal.. called the supervisor and she took my name and number and stated that she will cb later this evening. she never did. cb the office number and people kept hanging up on me, hear others in the background chating, eating lunch, and etc. also, heard someone say, we will contact you in the morning then there was just dead air. they will not get another payment from me. i want everyone to know that this is a scam, there should be a lawsuit out for this, i defiently want my money back, and someone should do something about this before they ruin other people lives. they are taking advantage of people homes..
