John of Mesa, AZ October 30, 2008

John of Mesa AZ (10/30/08)
I have the same complaint as most of the others who have commented about the totally unacceptable service of AIG. My annuity withdrawal request was signed, properly notarized and sent over two weeks ago. No response, acknowledgment, nothing. This company has been bailed out with billions of tax-payer dollars. They have several thousand dollars which are mine. I want them back now!

Martha of Selden NY (10/29/08)
An IRA annuity with First Sun America, AIG, matured on the 28th of Sept. I requested a full withdrawal as of that date. As of today, 10/27 I have not been able to speak to anyone concerning this withdrawal and I have yet to receive a check.

This is part of my retirement income which I currently use to supplement my Social Security check.

I complained a while ago that AIG was not paying me my money on my annuity. It is only fair that I say that AIG did pay me in full on Oct 22, 2008

Richard of Burnsville, MN October 17, 2008

Richard of Burnsville MN (10/17/08)
I have to IRAs with AIG. I am trying to cash out one fully paid up IRA. I submitted the request 14 days ago. They cannot be reached by phone...always too busy to take calls. I sense that I am about to lose over 7,000 through pure fraud.

AIG is withholding money that is mine. I am screwed.

Phil of Kensington, CT October 17, 2008

Phil of Kensington CT (10/17/08)
We took out an annuity with AIG through Webster Investments 5 years ago and it has reached maturity this past July. With the current economic issues we wanted to move it to another existing annuity that has also matured at SBLI and filled out the forms necessary on 9/15/2008 and was told by Webster that AIG received it on 9/25/2008.

We still on October 17th have not received that money transfer. We were told it would take 6-10 days to process awhile ago and then when we had not rec'd the funds in that time frame we were then told by Webster that it would be 10-15 days and still nothing. Very Frustrating to say the least and not money we can afford to lose.
