mari of stony point, NY August 31, 2009 Have my mortgage with Beneficial. Pay my own property taxes. Beneficial inadvertently sent a 5000 check directly to my county for taxes (without notifying me). Check was returned to Beneficial by county because we already paid the taxes. Beneficial charged my account, doubled my mortgage payment and even though they verbally acknowledge the check was returned to them, they still have not rectified the account and my credit report looks like I am 3 months late as a result. Cannot get one person who can help me on the phone at Beneficial. Spent weeks talking to several departments to no avail. Requested documentation from them via certified letter. No response. Requested faxed info from "supervisors" - no response. Contacted the Attorney General for assistance. Angela of Wartburg, TN August 31, 2009 They are relentlessly calling my 71 year old father in law. He has no business with them and has no loans or mortgages, they call every day, 7 days a week starting at 8AM and not stopping until 9:30PM EST, even on Sundays. The lady is RUDE and will not give her name. Tells my father in law, "I can call you as many times a day as I want". They call every two hours on the dot every day. Shady business and VERY RUDE!! Catherine of Spokane, WA August 28, 2009 I received a check from Beneficial during Fed 2002 for 5,000; in mid 2004 I fail behind on payments when I relocated to the Washington state area and thought Beneficial was helping me to bring my loan current; and I made payments each month. In 2004 I was told that my loan would be paid off 02/2009; In Feb 2009, I called Beneificial to find out my last payment amount; i was told over 905.00; I told the representive that I wanted to get this paid off so, I started paying 250.00 instead of the 173.20 required. today, I called Beneficial and was told my balance is still 217.00 with an additional 105.00 NSF fee from 2006? I asked why is Beneficial now stating I have an NSF fee? I asked if I could pay the balance of 217.17 to stop the interest, then pay off the NSF charge in a week; I was told yes, but I would still have a knew pay off amount; I asked do Beneficial change interest rates on NSF fees, and they stated no; I asked why would there be additional changes if I pay the account balance first then NSF; I was told that one could not do that; I called my bank after getting off the line with Beneficial the representive said Global Credit Union records show I have paid Beneficial 1,126.00 since Jan 2009; Beneficial stated that if I ask for a settlement amount, this will go against my credit; and even if I do get the settlement I still must pay 257.00. every month it is a different story; but one thing is for sure, I continue to have this debt no matter how much I pay. David of waldoboro, ME August 25, 2009 took out a loan 4 years ago, used my home to borrow money for my business. we got 15000.00. the loan was for five years at 240.00 per month. we have been paying every month and now we owe 15,433.20. it should have gone down by now, i tried to call to talk to someone to find out why it has not, all i get is automated answers just giving me a figure i owe an when i am making the next payment, i want to know why it hasent gone down? where is my money going? r of nampa, ID August 21, 2009 i put in for a hardship application , sent in the nessissary information. a month later recieved a letter that the information was never recieved and needed to resubmit the proper info. after resubmitting the proper info i've been waiting and calling to get an answer.a month later i call and am told my application is expired and need to resubmit the proper information .how long can that go on? Stephanie of Baltimore, MD August 20, 2009 In June of 2007, my husband and i started looking to consolidate our debt with a refinance of our mortgage; we filled out a few apps, and were called back by Beneficial (although i don't think we applied with them). They offered us a loan that would allow us to pay off our debt, refinance, and cash. The interest rate was super high (9.74) but they kept saying, once your credit is on track, next year you can refinance for a lower rate. I didn't really want to do it ,but they kept persisting; they didnt' verify income, they had me write a letter stating that i made a certain amount of money from home, because they couldn't take my part time job into consideration (i had a full time and a part time job). They have since closed their offices, and my husband lost his job, so i tried to apply for the hardship program, all i get is the runaround; people who don't speak english, who won't tell me what paperwork needs to be filed. We had to move in with my husband's grandmother and rent our house to friends because they will not work with us and we cannot afford to sell. I feel like they took advantage of us completely and wish i could take legal action (anyone know of a class action suit?) christopher of lecington, TN August 14, 2009 in 2006 i borrowed 2000.00 i now have to pay back 10,000. how do u get such a high finance rate i can never pay this off. i called five numbers trying to get hold of a president or a ceo but to no avail but they can still get my money out each month. i have been paying app.215.00 a month for three years. now u do the math the more i pay on it the more i seem to owe. someone is getting rich somewhere a rip off. i want my money back . Timothy of Racine, WI August 14, 2009 I have taken out a loan about 5 yrs. ago and I have been paying 300 mo. since then. The loan went from 11,000 to 10,369 they have been ripping me off in the finance charge department. My intrest rate is around 21%. But even so 5yrs. at 300 mo. my balance should be a lot lower than it is. Lucille of Lincolnton, GA August 11, 2009 looking at my mother mortgage payment my mother finance her house after she had paid it down to 5,ooo dallors she went and borrowed 25.000 dallors approximately 10 or 12 yrs ago from beneficial she pay 420.00 a month and it still high she have been in the same house for 38 yrs house was 17,900 first purchase my mother is 82 yrs still say the amount due is over 28.000 i want to know where is my mother money going and in 2006 she owed i4.000 on one loan and on the same loan 2009 she still owe 13.000 pay very month on both loan a total of 200.00 on one and 220.00 the other James of Thurmont, MD August 5, 2009 We signed a loan with these people back in 2006 for 25,000.00 right now we have paid them over 16,000.00 and we owe 26,000.00. We have filed for Chapter 13 and asked them to rework are loan and have got no reply. On top of that I am begging for them to send statements each mont and am getting nothing. I asked for paperwork that we signed at settlement and got nothing. This loan is costing us money each month but its not going towards our balance its going intheir pockets and yet no help at all. 16,000.00 of interest how does that happen? I want to turn them in and something done. We owe the money we will pay the money but for heavens sake we should not be over the limit right now after paying 16,000.00 where does that go to? I have been laid off several times and thru all that they would not help Report Your Experience
