Ian Swanson of Davie, FL March 13, 2006

Ian of Davie FL (03/13/06)
On Feb 17th 2006, I took an insurance check into the Bank of America banking center, 1 SE 3rd Ave, Miami FL 33131 Tel 305-350-6350. It was for over 20,000.00 and therefore had to be endorsed by Bank of America Insurance Claims Services department in California. Debbie  (banking center manager) sent my check out to California by internal Bank of America mail. My deposit slip was included so that the check could be paid into my account. As of March 13 2006, the check had not been cashed into my account. I went to see Debbie  and she told me that it was unfortunate but I would have to contact my insurance company and get the check re-issued. Not really the support I was looking for.

I have contacted Customer Support (who have been helpful) and have been advised that the check never arrived at Bank of America Insurance Claims Services, 3349 Michelson Drive, Suite 200, Irvine CA 92612 Tel: 877-267-1404. The Customer Support department say they are not happy with the situation and that the check should have been sent FedEx not by internal mail. I have contacted my insurance company and I am now waiting to see if the check has been cashed by others or if it can be cancelled and re-issued.

Colleen of St. Louis, MO February 23, 2006

Colleen of St. Louis MO (02/23/06)
My husband and I had made a 200.00 dollar cash deposit at a banking center in St. Louis. The amount showed up on our account, was credited under "avaliable balance" and then....disappered. It was just gone. The whole transaction, the deposit, etc....was gone from the screen like it never existed. We called bank of america and they acted like they didn't believe us!

The girl on the phone said she had no record of the transaction ever being made. She was smug, and we got the feeling she was accusing us of making it up. Her tone changed when we told her we had the deposit slip. How scary it is though, that a transaction can just disappear, and even the bank of America people can't see it. We had to do so much leg work, had to drive down to the bank where the deposit was made, had to rush a payment in to cover ourselves, than had overdraft charges because we had scheduled bills to come out of that money.

All in all it was a nightmare. We are moving in 5 months, so we are not changing banks, but as soon as we get where we are going, it's goodbye Bank Of America, hello credit union.
