Kathryn of Seattle, WA July 24, 2009 I needed to borrow some money and made on time payments but got laid off so my payment was late, the interest is so high and when I try to talk to anyone they are not easy to deal with my amount owing is more then I borrowed and I have paid the amount I borrowed, it's horrifying. Willy of Adelanto, CA July 20, 2009 I had borrowed some money from Cash Call as a short term loan. Originally it was ok and the interest rate amount was expected for a hard money loan. Made several payments on time until I had a change in my employment. I couldn't make their payment amount and then they changed the interest rate on me, which made it even more difficult for me to even pay them. Any payments made went only towards interest. Very little if any went towards the principle. Now they constantly call me using 4 to 5 different phone numbers even after having talked to them. I get 4 to 5 calls within a 5 minute time frame 4 to 6 times a day. I have at times been called hourly on weekends from 8 am until late at night from these numbers. Theresa of Lompoc, CA July 10, 2009 I have been paying cash call for the last 2 years, for a 2500.00 loan. The balance does not seem to go lower. Their interest rate is outrageuos. They are taking advantage of the consumer. I thought there was a law about such high interest rates. Herlena of Oakland, CA June 30, 2009 I lost my job called to settle was told that they are filing suit against me I took out a 2500 dollar loan and now currently owe 5259.00 i called in April to ask if there was a way to settle for a reasonable amount and was advised that they already filed suit and that I will still have to go to court in regards to the case. Instead of finding out what they can do to assist me Mr. Lewis attempted to get me to make a payment something I couldnt do as I am now receiving unemployment benefits. I really want to do the right thing and settle for a reasonable amount and these people dont want to settle with me. Paul of Philadelphia, PA June 19, 2009 I've used Cash Call on three occasions. I read the loan documents carefully and fully understood the terms of my loans. I paid them off far sooner than the scheduled date to avoid the high interest rates. I'm astonished that so many people would take a loan without reading the documents and asking questions. Each loan rep that I've dealt with at Cash Call fully disclosed everything. Cash Call is good for very short term loans when you are sure that you will be able to pay the principle. Do not use this service for long term loans. Rasaunda of perris, CA June 18, 2009 I had a loan with cash call and I paid 215.00 a month and only 6.00 dollars went to the loan with each payment I made and the rest was interest. The loan was difficult to pay back because all the interest. annamarie of albuquerque, NM June 15, 2009 i pulled out a loan of 2500 . i only asked to borrow 2000 . they would not change the paper work . i called today to get my payoff after a year . i now owe 2700 . its just really sad . i asked about the original loan documents since they sign on line the term wa 42 months 216 a month but i dont think i am getting close to pay off . rodney of marina del rey, CA June 15, 2009 Personal loan company...A major loan shark here who capitalizes on the poor with charging outrageous interest rates on loans....I'm not even sure of my interest now..They make sure that you NEVER pay the loan off...I applied for a personal loan from Cashcall company on December 1,2005 for the amount of 10 thousand dollars. My monthly payments went from 292.50 to 332.15 a month....I called to find out what my balance is on June 12,2009...My balance due on that loan is now 9,500 and something dollars....I've been paying on this loan for 3 and a half years on a ten thousand dolar loan..And the balance after 3 and a half years is 9500 hundred dollars! Retha of Lynwood , CA June 10, 2009 Like everyone else I was in a behind on some thinks and I thought that Cash call would be a solution. Well I was dead wrong. The rate is so high you will not be able to EVER pay it off. Then the if you try to pay if off in one payment they get to talking about every payoff fee and late fees. If everyone see this info we have more then enough people to bring a Cash Action suit against them. I will be making 10 percent least and will not be able to make the payment in 2 months. They say they have programs that can help you , but your payments have to be current in order for them to help you. If your layoff call them and tell them your collecting unemployment checks. The lady told me that I have to send proof and they will stop payments for 6 months. But will the interest keep going. I have paid this loan 2 times over and I wont out. I'm trying to keep my account current so I call to make payment arrangement. They never told me I would still be responisble for late charge until today.I can no longer pay, I told them today in 2 months will not be able to pay so I wanted them to tell me what's going to happen. The lady could not tell me anything useful. Brandi of Delray Beach, FL June 9, 2009 I took out a 2600 loan from Cashcall in 2007 and for one year paid 216.55 on time each month. My husband and I fell on hard times after he lost his job and I was unable to continue to pay them. I called them and let them know that I wasn't able to pay them and I stopped the auto debit. They didn't have a problem stopping the debit, but still expected me to send the payments in. After about 3 months of non-payment, they started trying to offer me settlements. My settlements went down from 2000 in 2008 to as little as 700 or so dollars as of May 2009. Having been laid off myself in March of 2009, I definitely couldn't afford to shell out any of their settlement offers or their monthly offers. The money is just not their with neither of us working. Today I got a letter from Brett Yable Law firm representing TK Financial, stating that they are going to place a judgement on me for 3838 and garnish my wages and place a lein on my assets. Apparently, CashCall sold my loan. I am just wondering does the arbitration clause come into affect? I thought we were to have a binding arbitration regarding any dispute that came up between either party, regardless if the loan was sold or not. How do I find out about this? Report Your Experience
