Dionne of Greensboro, NC August 22, 2009 With recent cut backs at work my husband and I received salary cuts. Recently we were unable to make full payment so we paid what we could and on the tenth day late Chase calls our home to inquire about us sending the remainder of the payment. I told them we would have the payment current by the 31st of the month. I was told this was not acceptable to stop the phone calls. So the phone calls continued even to my job. As of today August 22, 2009 they continue to call constantly with the payment being 17 days late. We have only been late one other time. Chase does not work with its customers!!!! Carla of Hotlon, KS August 21, 2009 My husband lost his job back in January of 2009. We had not been late on our payments until the end of June. I called on Tuesday to make one late payment and schedule another teh following week. They told me that was not acceptable. I had to make the both payments (June and July) or not at all. They then threatened me in a round about manner, i.e. where is the vehicle parked, what color is it, what time is it at the residence, what time is it at my work. I have not been late in three years until these past two months. I realize as the customer service representative stated that is is my fault I am in this situation, but really? We have been on one income for nearly eight months and there are not any options, not to even catch up in seven days?? I am so upset that they can treat consumer this way. I guess a default is a default. I will be refinancing with my local bank this next week. I will never use this company again, and you can believe this is not the only place I will be complaining. martin of valencia, CA August 19, 2009 In September 2006, I purchased a vehicle. We contacted "CHASE" to inquire about a car loan. They offered us a 3.99% fixed apr. We were advised that 2% would be the minimum payment for the life of the loan. WOW!!! I just opened my monthly statement and thought that an an error was made on behalf of CHASE. I called CHASE and found out that the minimum payment was increased from 2% to 5%. My monthly payment doubled!!! As much as I tried to explain my financial situation to CHASE, the best offer they made was a 7.00% apr increase in order to keep my minimum payment at 2%......How is this legal to consumers who have a fico score of 7.85 and has faithfully made monthly payments? I am outraged! I feel taken advantage of. Help!!! vicki of chicago, IL August 18, 2009 2 months after I bought the car, I lost my income. I have struggled, but have been current each month, just late. Last month had a particular problem, and the payment couldn't be made, but I called, and said that I could make both payments, last month and this month, on the 30th of this month. That was not good enough; he wanted 1 paymnet today or turn the car in. I spoke with a supervisor, D. Vance, who was worse than Ellison. Chase knows I have a problem walking and need my car. After struggling for 2 years to keep it paid, I am not going to lose it now to unreasonable demands. I offered to pay to make it current, but not for 10 more days, but still within the month. Mark of Montrose, CO August 17, 2009 I have informed the company that I had been laid off from my job and I asked for help with my payments and only to get a slap in the face. They said no we cannot do the refinancing on the auto loans. They want to get all the payments due up front. I have a part-time job to make ends meet and still looking for a 40 hour job. There is nothing here in Montrose,Co. I have been getting harassing calls for months now and THEY call my wife's employment to talk to her. I do not beleive these peoples are so hard up and this econmiee is so messed up we cannot find work with the same pay I had gotten before. What are we suppose to do if jobs arent avail.I have told this Greg Jones that I will make the car payment while the check comes in. He saqid I have lied about the car and etc. I do not like to be called a liar.I will make payments and try to deal with them but there is so much stress these days I don't know how long I will deal with these peoples. Twanja of Greenville, SC August 14, 2009 I owned a vehicle financed through Chase. I had 3 accidents and 2 injuries that led to surgery all in 2006. When I had knee surgery I decided I needed change. I couldn't go back to doing the kind of work that I had been doing. So I started looking for new work. From October 06 to April 07 all of my pmts were made. I was behind in May and June they wanted my vehicle back. I kept telling them that I would be able to catch up the payments. I was waiting on a settlement check from one of the injuries. Well, impatiently they couldn't wait and wanted their vehicle back. My mom spoke to the lady because my parents at this point wanted to help out. They gave me a week when my dad got paid. Well, he had didn't get his check by their deadline and they wanted the car back. He offered to even throw in an add'l month and they refused. I drove the car to a gas station in Columbia, SC (where they asked me to) and they picked up the car. And right afterwards, just days, I got my settlement check. Unfortunately, they said in order to get it back they wanted payment in full. Who has 10,000 to pay off a truck. Well the following week, the SUV was sold. They they harassed me to pay off the remainder balance. They did try to cut a deal with me. They offered me a pay off of 1500. I didn't have that kind of money. I was in school and had no car...What were they thinking. Then a year later, they called harassing me for 4,000 the deal was off. It's sad how some organizations treat people even when things go wrong in their life. It wasn't like I never called and talked with them. I kept them updated, but they felt like they knew what was best. It's sad that they are already robbing us with high interest rates and along with that rude customer service. No one knows what people are going thru and to have someone treat you like that is terrible. I am glad that part of my life is over. Mistake learned. Milford of Saint Louis, MI August 13, 2009 Got an auto loan for a used truck thru JP Morgan-Chase. Two weeks after getting truck, I was laid off. Informed Chase that first payment would be late because of payments for insurance. Was told over phone that there would be no problem. Called several times to keep them informed of what was happening and told no problem. Get up Friday morning to go pay two month payment and find truck gone. No letter saying they where going to take it. Then when I find out where they towed it to. Was told I had to pay in full to get it back, could not just bring account up to date and cover towing and holding cost. They then sold it for half of the value and expect me to pay the rest. Did let them know that without a vehicle, I can't find work outside of walking distance, and no job means I can't send them any money. To be honest, they did not want my money when I had it, why should they get it now. Christine of Irmo, SC August 11, 2009 Several attempts to Chase's Customer Service Department to explain my financial situation and to arrange some type of deferment or refinance at a lower interest rate for my auto loan. These contacts with Chase company representatives only caused me to become irritated due to their lack of concern. While tempting this fate, I had the unfortunate experience of talking with many of Chase's belligerent representatives; one in particular who profoundly refused to let me speak to the manager in charge and who, in a smirking tone stated "You have had your vehicle for less than a year and you want to refinance your vehicle? This is not a manger's problem." After this last conversation it was evident that Chase Auto Finance was not willing to work with me and it was then that I decided to voluntarily return my vehicle to the company where I bought the vehicle. Chase is presently requesting that I be responsible for any expenses to sale the vehicle as well as any difference between what they re-sale the vehicle for and what is remaining on the loan. Noelle of San Jose , CA August 11, 2009 Vehicle financed May 2004, fast forward with perfect payment history to march 2008 when my husband was laid off, we continued to pay on time until September of '08 and then subsequently we have been 1 month behind. I made numerous attempts to make arrangements with such an old loan to not incur so many fees, but the reps are rude, condescending, mean spirited and apparently unable to read the specifics on an account to see the payment history even during a hardship, let alone be given the authorization to grand paydate extensions. August 11 2009, I owe the final 748.38 and I CALLED THEM to inform that the final payment (completed loan) would be made in full as of Sept 10. "Edna" again, very Rude, argumentative, uncompassionate and when I asked her for a supervisor, she refused 4 times before connecting me to a voicemail. I left a detailed vm for the supervisor. 3 minutes later a new rep called my cell phone and I asked her to read me the notes from the previous phone call. She read me a botched version and proceeded to HARRASS AND BELITTLE me as I was merely telling her that I just went thru this and was waiting for "Omar" to return my call. My credit will be slightly damaged but at least I will be done with Chase. This company is ruthless even with the most integrity oriented payment history. Unbelievable and very sad. Thank goodness we will be able to finally bring this loan to a close as some people cant these days. Mary of Fitchburg, MA August 11, 2009 I have financed all my cars and never had a problem until I became involved with Chase! I never received my June and July monthly bills for my car payment, and suddenly I receive an overdue notice of 30 days. I immediately called and reached a woman who finally said her name was Audine (?sp). She was rude, nasty, threatening and yelling at me during the whole conversation. I hardly was able to explain my situation. She even asked me where I lived so she could repossess my car! I have been paying car payments on time like clockwork, not late. I have the highest credit for loans you can have. I asked to speak to a supervisor and she refused. I asked to speak to Customer Service and that girl Emily was Ok, but couldn't help me with my issue. So I ended up paying two month's payments by phone which cost me 15.00 plus two 5.00 late fees, even though I never received June or July's bills. She did state Chase began sending out 3 months bills at a time, but she did not listen to me when I stated I did not receive June or July's bills. I work for the Chamber of Commerce and I have never treated my customers like she treated me. (If I did, I would be fired!) Within 24 hours, I contacted my own local Credit Union, received a loan, and paid off my loan to Chase, as I stated, I never wanted to go through this again. It was very upsetting and I am warning everybody not to get mixed up these people or this bank! The emotional abuse I endured cause me to be physically ill that evening with a terrible Migraine headache, and I was upset the rest of that day! I am out 25.00 plus my stamps for the letters I will send them re: this Audine. Thank you for your attention. Report Your Experience
