I went online to pay my May payment, and the min. was listed as 0.00. I called to find out why and was told that due the the economy, I was being given the opportunity to skip the month's payment "with no repercussions." This was on May 26, 2009 at approximately 1:00 am. On 6-4-09 I received a letter from Chase saying that my credit limit had been reduced by 2400. I have had this card since 2000, and one of the reasons listed was "Too few accounts with time on file greater than 36 months." I also have an Amazon card with them that I've had since 2004.

I logged on today, 6-5-09, to make a payment to that card. I noticed that my minimum payment on my larger card had increased by over 150! This is more of an increase than I can pay. When I called, I was told that I had an over limit fee, that I had exceeded my limit due to new charges early in May. However, when those charges, approx 500, were made, I still had between 2000 and 3000 available credit. The limit was decreased AFTER the charges were made, putting my balance at 84 in excess of my newly reduced limit. I was then charged over-limit fees. The representative agreed to waive the over-limit fees and told me to pay a new minimum payment instead.

My issue is not that the limit was reduced, it is that Chase reduced it to below what I had already charged and then penalized me for it. All this after deferring my previous payment "to help out during these difficult economic times," and saying there would be no repercussions. I have never missed a payment, always paid between 5 50 over the minimum, and with one exception on the smaller limit card, have never been late on a payment, over at least 9 years.

I have been diligent about continuing to make my payments, even though I often feel that the interest rates are excessive and criminal. Yet, I distinctly feel that there were, indeed repercussions for electing to defer my payment despite what I was told. I have also been in customer service for over 15 years and feel that from both business and human standpoints, such a practice is dishonest, fraudulent, and simply put, WRONG.

I'm absolutely appauld by Chase. I was recently laid off from my job and I am a college student so times are pretty tough...as for most people these days. I decided to call Chase and explain the situation to them to see if we can work out some sort of arrangement. I wasn't even 30 days late on my car payment. Nor have I ever been delinquent with my car payments until this one time. The woman I spoke to brought me to tears. The rudest, most evil woman I have ever talked to. She told me that I had more than enough time to come up with the money. I told her I was doing the best that I could and was out looking for jobs and even selling plasma for the time being.

That wasn't good enough for her apparently. She then proceeded to tell me that if I really wanted to keep my car, then I would find a way by any means necessary. She told me to sell stuff on ebay or just borrow the money. Seriously, who has the money to borrow these days? My friends and family are going through tough times themselves. Thankfully I was able to borrow money from a friend and paid the past due balance that very day. Again I was not even 30 days late. My next payment was not due for another 20 days or so. However, the next week after making the past due payment a guy shows up at my door threatening to take my car away. I do not understand! I made the payment and I didnt have one due! A few days later I checked my bank account to find that Chase had taken out the next months payment (that wasnt even due yet) with out my authorization. I ended up getting a ton of overdraft fees and was negative 400 in my account. My bank told me I would have to contact Chase and have them pay for the overdraft fees and refund the amount they took out. Do you think I have seen that money? NOPE! They didn't believe me and said they would have to look into it further. I'm STILL negative. Something has to be done.

Have not received statements/payment coupons from Chase Auto for months. They admitted error in having incorrect zipcode. Attempting to get copy of statement to pay. Refused. Refused to let me speak with supervisor. Disconnected phone call. Threatening to "pick-up" car. Chase is attempting to charge late fees and interest by refusing to send statements.

On a regualar basis chase is taking my monthly payments and applying them soely for interest and sending me notices that my account is deliquent. In the month of January I sent Chase auto finance via Money Gram a total of 1166.68 which for Novembers Payment Decembers payment and January's payment. Chase then turned around and stated the my January payment was not recieved because they applied all that money to interest, so after telling them I was filing a complaint with consumer affairs dmv, etc.

My account manager Fatima submitted for me a deferred payment which I didnt agree to, because my account was current. However with the deffered payment, they still tried to state that a payment was due for February, however after continuing to complain they stated the payment was due in March 26, 2009 so in March I sent a payment in the amount of 350.00 which was short by 38.00 which is my regular carnote.

however they forwarded all my money towards interest and then stated that owe 101 dollars for april and my account is 30days past due. The rep when I called on Sunday was extremely rude saying your behind 2 mos for april and may, just being extremely disrespectful. Now I spoke to a rep today who then stated something about a bounced check in February which I didnt have an account in Frebruary this is why I have to pay some interest payment. I only send my money either money gram or by mail. What is the law in regards to interest payments.

they never told me that my car was going to be taken. not even 60 days late. it was only 56 days. i was going to pay this thursday before the due date of 28. they never mailed anything. my personal belongings are in the car and refuse to let get it out unless i pay 60.00 and give them the key at the garage. called advance financial in sicklerville nj. all i have to pay is 600.00 and the bank said they want 9650.00. it has problems since i got it and is only worth 1000 and has 160,000 miles.

they asked me to fax them a letter with my income and tried to say i dont make enough. they also said i had to many broken promises and that is not true. i have been paying on the truck. please try to get this resolved before i sue and someone takes my wifes info out of her pocket book. they did not even ask for the key.

they told me after i faxed the paper over they could tell me how much to pay now they wont. wasted my money in gas to fax and notary papers. disconnected me 5 times and it was not there line and they would not do that to people. i called some else and did not get disconnected.

Tracy of Morgantown, WV May 20, 2009

I purchased a new 2007 Dodge Caravan SXT about 2 years ago. I put 11,000.00 down and pay 290.00 a month. Ive always made the payments on time and perfect for a year and half. Never missed a one nor was I ever late on one. About 6 months ago I lost my job. About the same time, Chase deducted 4 car payments from my bank account that was NOT authorized. I didnt have the money in there to cover it so why would I approve it? My account was so messed up I couldn't recover from it. I had to close that account.

Chase called me on a regular basis for their money. I tried several times to make an arrangement or an agreement but they didn't want any part of that. All they wanted was ALL the money that was owed to them and they wanted it right now. I recently started a new job, thank God. I'm going to start making a payment every two week until I am caught back up. I currently owe about 1500.00 in back payments, But I truly am going to pay them.

My complaint is; Chase has called everyone I know, all my neighbors, even my wife's X-husband's family. They have even visited my neighbors leaving messages for me. This is just ridiculious. I understand them wanting paid, and I have full intentions of doing just that, but are they permitted to harass me in the mean time?

I have a car loan through Chase Auto Finance and I am not even 30 days past due and they are threatening to repo my SUV.

Jan of Myrtle Beach, SC May 13, 2009

Due to fail finances, my car was repo last night. We went and did a quick collect for two months, bringing our account balance to zero. Spoke with the Repo company and they agreed to waive the pick-up fee and storage fee for us. However, Chase is now charging a 390 repo charge that has to be paid before we can get our vehicile back. So in the end, we will have paid 1040.00 for a car that was only 650.00 behind. What a rip off. This is what the Finance company does to the people who contibruited to the bailout money they received.

Andy of Carmel, CA May 8, 2009

Dont be so hard on Chase, they are all the same. I am embarassed to say this, but I have had several cars repo'd before. All finance companies, up to and including all the comman dealerships are cut throat! They dont care, especially now, what your issues are, all they want is the money. The repo guys are heartless too. I dont see how any human can go to someone's house during these hard times and repo a car, but they will do it right in front of you. I have been with Chase now for about 2 years, never missed a payment, I learned my lesson. And although they wont refinance me, its just the way things are. DONT MISS THAT CAR PAYMENT!! Priorities, 1. House payment 2. Car Payment, 3 Insurance. Good luck, we are all in this mess together.

Debbee of new windsor, MD May 7, 2009

I financed my truck with Chase my new contract did not start until Febuary 28, 2009, (first payment due). On March 10 2009 I recieved a phone call from chase stating that my account was past due for january 2009 payment.I asked the lady on the phone how could I owe for January's payment when my first payment was due on Febuary 28th 2009. She says to me that the computer shows that my payment is past due 35 days again I ask how can it be past due when my first payment wasnt due until Feb28th 2009,

My truck is now in repossion because chase bank insists i owe for January's payment.Customer service at chase is rude and does not wantt o hear what you have to say, they just want to read from thier computer's what they see and not try to solve the problem. I am so frausted with this Bank, I will never finance anything from this bank again. I have made 30 phone calls and have spoke to so many different people that I just gave up. I am a single mom of a handicapped son and a 3 month old son The truck is my one and only source of transportation.
