Paula of wilmington, DE August 21, 2009

I started the refiance process with Chase back in March of this year. It is now August 21 and we still have not closed on our refiance. My husband keeps calling and always told it will happen next week or in 2 weeks. All those weeks have come and gone and still we have not closed yet! We called again and they still can't give us a date on when we will close on our refiance. What a totally waste of time! They took all their money from the bailout from us the taxpayers and Chase still can not get their act togethor. Its Patehic. We have been a faithful customers of theirs I beleive for about 5 or years and are never late on our mortage and this is what we get in return!

I was pre-qualified for a home loan by Chase employee, Paul C, and after my credit was pulled and everything. I requested a Good Faith Estimate, and he just refused it. It is a shame!

Alan of Newman Lake, WA August 21, 2009

Things are tight and we are trying to pay things off, and as with most we are having a hard time making ends meat. So we go through the refinance process with Chase, our interviewer being Dana Child. This all started in early april, it just turned into one problem after another, constantly requesting paperwork already provided, then saying the loan was not approved because we hadnt submitted the paperwork (for the 3rd time); we get angry and Dana at Chase says disregard that declined notice , they have all the paperwork and its being processed. Two more months go by and the appraisal is still not done, can you imagine 4 months and no contact or updates and failure after failure for Chase to return any calls.

After 4 months we did speak with Chase 3 times, only because of our persistance. Well first week of august a loan officer calls and says the loan is with the underwriters, we will hear news by end of week. We are into week 3, no news. Call my Chase loan contact, Dana Child, I get a recorded message saying he is no longer with the company anymore and if we have any questions call his former supervisors number. I call that number, of course its a recording, I give the loan number and state I want to know whats going on. Two hours later my wife gets a call from the supervisor stating Dana had resigned, our loan was not approved (to high debt to income ratio)...goodbye...click.

My ratio was lower now than when I started this process, when I started the whole loan process all looked good, we are assured there should be no problems...of course they have my 400.00 fee for leading me on (non-refundable). Its all a shame, they got some of my money, and it really never mattered to them if the loan was approved or diss-approved. Im a Chase member, I have never missed a bill or not payed (Im 54). How could it have hurt them to make it easier for someone to be even more financially responsible. Ive talked to alot of resources recentlly, and here is the bottom line with "all"of them....if I havent paid my biills or if Im in foreclosure...I can get help!!! Crazy as it may seem Im trying to pay my bills and not foreclose or declare bankruptcy. Just plain MAD at the system.

wayne of trophy club, TX July 21, 2009

For the past year we have tried to prove (whch we finally did )that we have always carried home owner insurance and after many phone calls and certified letters Chase finally did acknowledge that we did always have insurance. The problem is that for all those months Chase set up a escrow account for their insurance and every paynment that I paid they applied to the escrow account instead of my loan which in turn always showed that I was late on my house payments.

I did recieve a letter from the insurance department stating that they have requested the escrow be knocked off. Noone ever followed through with this and I have now been forclosed on .I went to my chase branch and was given a phone number to call to try to get this worked out but I have been transferred 6 different times today from one department to the next.

This has ruined my credit and I am not even sure if I will be able to stay in my home since it is foreclosed on just this past week. I have all documentation and letters from chase and I will be more than happy to provide those. I do not know what to do at this point because I can't get anyone who know's anything. They have all the information on their screens also.

I am in the process of doing a modification to stop the foreclosure process on my home. I was given a 3 month trial period with the agreement of a lower monthly payment for those 3 months. August 2009 was my last month which I sent in my payment personal check like all the other payments. I noticed my check hadn't gone through so I called and was told that the returned my check, they would no longer except my personal check and I needed to send them a cashiers check. I've never bounced a check and they never tried to put it through at this point. I did as I was told and then over the weekend I went to make a purchase and had no money in my account b/c that personal check they said they mailed back had been cashed.

I called in cause now they had 2 payments for the month of Aug. I was told I would not get any of the money back b/c I was deliquent on my loan even though I signed an agreement with them to do this trial period for a loan modification, luckly Monday I called my Bank and had the personal check returned. Now when I call in I get the run around to each dept. nobody knows what to do, and I would like to request for something in writing on what to do know being I haven't received anything for the modification.

Julia of Austin, TX August 20, 2009

I had a loan through Chase Home Finance that I had set up automatic payments through their online access. I recently sold this home and paid off the mortgage in full (7/29/09). That evening, I looked at my Chase online access, and I was not able to access the account anymore to check and make sure everything was stopped. Unfortunately, I assumed that that meant all had been taken care of.

On 8/4/09, I received an automatic email from my bank that another mortgage payment had been drafted from my account. I immediately called Chase and they assured me that they could put the payment directly back into my bank account within 3 days. On the third day, I called and the story had changed to "we're very sorry for the inconvenience, but we can no longer access this account since it is closed...you'll receive the money within 21 days of your closing date."

Oh, and after being hung up on a few times (I was on a land line) and being transferred back and forth between departments for a total of 5+ hrs, they offered to overnight the check when it was released in order to expedite it. I also told them that the address they had on file was wrong and gave them the new one, but they still Fed-ex'd the check to my old address. I received the check today, and it was still short that mortgage payment (it was only the amount that they had confirmed was an escrow refund).

I called to get information, spoke with a "Mary" who was unable to connect me with a supervisor because s/he was busy on the phone with other clients (however, she was able to seek advice from this supervisor when she placed me on hold). I told her that I would wait for her supervisor, and she put me on hold, but then I was abruptly disconnected after she confirmed that I would like to wait longer (again, from a land line). I called back and the department was closed for the day.

RALPH of MILWAUKEE, WI August 19, 2009

I applied for my mortgage in March 2009! On July 27, 2009 I went with a community bank with no upfront points. Chase was charging me 1.85% points which would have cost me 3,200. I have requested a refund of my 750 application fee! No return call. With all the similar complaints this may turn into a class action suit!!!!!!!

Loretta of Cincinnati, OH August 18, 2009

I asked for a loan modification form to submit a attempt to change my interest rate. There was a econonmic stimulus package intitiated by the president for FHA mortgage recepients. I wanted to take advantageof it. I began this process in April,2009. After many requests I finally recieved the forms. They all came in the mail at one time.I fill out the form and recieved no response,so after one month , that would be May 2009. I contacted someone on the phone. They stated they had receieved my imformation and was waiting for a conselor or advisor to be assigned to mine mortgage account, Another month went by no response from them.

I called again they stated that a advisor still had not be assigned to my account. By this time I am angry. I am thinking I can go around the world in this amount of time. I thinking that Chase like to use the stall techniques. They already have my loan because I did not choose them it was sold by another Mortgage company. Star point Mortgage.Which I understand this process. I would like to get some timely imput on the status of a application and not have them wait until the rates go up.

After all this time, I finnaly find out that they are going to deny my application now telling me that I make too much money. They could told me that in April 2009. This is August 15,2009. Do you think this is fair to me the consummer? They forced people to just resort to being late on their mortgage and not trying to work through the system. it is very frustrating to navigate. There is always double talk delays and run around given to us.I think this practice need to stop!!!

Deanne of El cajon, CA August 17, 2009

I called Chase bank to apply for home loan. After giving them all of my information (bank balances, credit information for a report to be run, employment history, etc...) I was informed I met all there standards and was pre-qualified for a home loan through there bank. To move for ward with the application process and lock my rates I needed to pay 395. I paid the 395 to move forward with the home loan process. A couple weeks into the process I neither the mortgage consultant nor loan officer would return any phone calls or e-mails finally after over a month I received a denial letter based on the information I had provided before they collected any fees from me. I am appalled wit there shady tactics and want a refund of the money.

Kathy of Pottstown, PA August 16, 2009

On 5/22/09, I began a refi with Chase, and was told, in writing, that the process would take "close to 60 days." It's now 86 days. I used to get emails from my (now 4) processors, but that has stopped. I want to cancel, but do not want to loose my 750. Can anyone hear us? Doing a refi would have allowed me to combine two home loans, so I would not have to go further in cc debt. My credit status is now now very poor.
