Eric of Indio, CA July 10, 2009 My wife and I were looking for a mortgage modification company and contacted Elect Group, LLC in December 2008. They informed us the whole process would take about 2-3 months. After receiving my money, they kept giving me different people to speak to. When I contacted the lawyer Daniel F. that they use, it was the same story, they were working on our loan and were waiting to hear from Countrywide. When I have tried contacting their offices, I would get a recording, you can not even speak to a person. No point trying to leave messages since they never returned phone calls. Now Elect Group states on their website that they "do not do business in California" which was not the case before. If they promised you a money back guarantee, good luck in getting it back. I can not even speak to anyone to begin the money back process. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH ELECT GROUP, LLC. We have also contacted the Florida attorney general and FTC to file complaints with them. lisa of cohutta, GA July 9, 2009 This company is a piece of work! I have had the unpleasure of dealing with Elect since May 09. They took my 1100.00 and I got NOTHING in return. Their webcite is not working and telephones go to voice mail. IMAGINE THAT! I WANT MY MONEY BACK! Ruth of Sparta, WI July 7, 2009 This company contacted me after I made an online inqueriy for mortgage modification. They promised to get results in lower payments, interest anf they would have it all done within a month or 2. Told me not to make any payments on the mortgage. This was December 3.2008. I am now 6 months behind and can not get my money back from them(1,000.00) and can not get in touch with them Kerri of Lanett, AL June 29, 2009 We were behind on our mortgage payment with Countrywide, due to my husband's hours being cut at work. I contacted Elect Group, LLC in December. I can't remember the lady's name but she was extremely nice and ready to do whatever it took to lower out monthly house payments! Once we sent in our 1000 payment and all of the paperwork, she referred me to Robert; she stated he would be handling our account from that point. After a month or so when I would call Robert was never available. The operator turned me over to Alex; he stated he would be handling our account from this point! Alex seemed as if he really wanted to help us. He told me he would keep me updated on how things were progressing; he did for a while. After about 3 month when I called and asked to speak to Alex they stated he no longer worked there. I asked for Robert; he no longer works there either. Our case had been assigned to James. James stated we needed updated information; so I faxed him the information he needed. Everytime I would call I spoke with someone different and they would tell me things were being processed to call back in 2 weeks. About a month ago (May) when I tried to call I received a message that the phone had been disconnected; so I tried another number I had; it was a different company! So I check on the bbb.org to see if anything had been updated on this company. It had; they now had an F on their report where when we went with this company they had an A+ with no complaints! When I began reading about everything that people were complainig about it made me so MAD! I tried sending then an email from their website; not to my surprise, no response! Today I tried to go to their website and logging in to my account; you can't even do that anymore. They have it blocked now!! This has been going on 7 months now! I spoke with our mortgage holder today and they stated that a modification would mean our house payment would INCREASE in order to get our payment back to where it needed to be. They said it could take a year or more!! They said a modification did not mean they payment would be reduced, that normally it was increased in order to get your account up to date. So we have been told a straight lie about getting a modification to lower our payment!! This is why we needed the modification because our house payment was too high!! Barbara of Oroville, CA June 29, 2009 Januray 2009 i call Elect group told them my problem, where i was located. They told me no problem and they could lower my mortage half. My lender started to call. Elect group said not to contact my lender they would. Well sixs months later there web page states that they can not help several Sates including mine. I've tried to contact them i get (apau) code i guess no longer one of the choosen ones. the port whole that i was given to contacted Elect group is no longer availiable. DO NOT DEAL WITH ELECT GROUP!! I'm tring to deal with my lender Diana of Grenada, MS June 25, 2009 I retained them to do a loan modification and Heather told me that she could definitely do it. I paid her 1099.00. After receiving my money, i was given several different representatives, Howard, Edna, and Christine. Heather would always tell me that every thing was going fine. Heather never modified my loan and i had to find out from my mortgage lender that they didn't do loan modifications and Elect group didn't tell me this. After getting into this, Heather told me not to pay anything toward my mortgage and as a result from this, my home is in foreclosure and my family and i will be homeless. I faxed Heather a copy of my foreclosure papers on 6-1-09, the same day that i received them and got no response. I tried calling and the operator, said she was gone to lunch. They never return calls. Heather seemed sincere, but now i realize that she is fradulent. Rick of Salisbury, MD June 23, 2009 Reached out to Elect Group in January after researching and seeing they had an A rating with BBB. Long story short Daniel B stated no problem, they could help us, made 2 payments to them for their services totaling 1995.00. The did nothing after several pc's with no return, faxes, emails etc. Kept getting letters from my lender stating going into foreclosure. In Feb. finally got hold of someone who stated our first loan mod had been denied but told don't worry its just routine. Again phone tag game began. On May we received FORECLOSURE papers, my wife and I agreed enough is enough, called our lender ourselves and they stated they hadn't heard from Elect Group since Feb. Date of sale was set for our house for July 2nd. Our lender worked with us with a modification and we have saved our home. No thanks to Elect group who now is trying to take credit for our work so they dont have to refund our money. We have contacted the MD State Financial Commissioner and filed a compliant with them as well. Patricia of Breinigsville, PA June 4, 2009 I was contacted via email from Ms Betsy Hoffman about their program, how they help others, and their 80% success rate.. I was very skeptical, and laid off. Over a period of 3 - 4 months I was contacetd and tole that They have helped many others and if they could not, would refund my money. She assured me she would personally take care of me, and was understanding of my situation.. Afte now 5 months plus later, I email , put in "Support"ticket, only to have no response, call the number, no answer, call and press 2 as if I am a mortg co and get a rep, they tell me Etty and Betsy no longer work there.. She tell s me that I should not have any communiocation with my Mortgage companies, Citi ans Us Bank.We have a 80 -20 mortgage..Fraud from the beginning!! Now we are out 1000.00 dollars, w/ 3 kids to feed and a credit score to never get us a thing. We thought Elect Group could help, or at the very least get us our money back. We thought they were an up and coming company, as I checked the BBB in Florida and such before going with them,,No Compalints.. I have a feeling they up and move around the country to do this and go unnoticed.. PLEASE TELL me and many othere here what we can do to get our money back and putthese crooks where they belong.. Google Besty Hoffman, she may be a leader!! Chris of Eldridge, IA May 31, 2009 We were contacted by Elect in Feb 09 to reduce our high interest rates with our lenders. We paid them 1200 up front to do this. We sent in all the info they requested. I checked in at least weekly on the progress. In April we were told that Aurora wanted them to resubmit after May 1 due to restructuring in how they do modifications. In May, I spoke with James L who told me that they were still planning on resubmitting. On May 13, I got a call from Quantum who told me that they rejected the modification and had no plans to do any more based on our financials. I was upset and we reviewed the financials provided them by Elect. I noted several errors, like my income was 1/2 of what it really is and other errors. With the new/accurate info I gave Quantum, they accepted and we were received a modification. I called Aurora and the same type of thing occurred only the errors were different. They had a charge card payment I didn't have and my childcare was wrong, they also put in a 1314 unknown amount. I was able to give Aurora the correct info and also received a modification based on the correct info I gave. All this occurred within minutes. I called and spoke with James L, he denied the rejections "they are just telling you that". I asked him to explain the errors. At first he denied any errors. We reviewed the info Elect sent against what I provided and he finally saw the errors. I asked for a full refund based on this, he told me that he agreed but did not have any control over it. He put it in for a review on 5/1. He said it would take 10-14 days. I called nearly daily but James knew nothing. After 2 weeks James had me talk to Kevin the owner. Kevin told me that he would need to review what was going on and return a call to me the next day. I have never heard back from him even after daily calls by me. James has also stopped taking my calls and does not return calls. I have since placed complaints with the Florida State attorney general and the FTC. Chris of Eldridge, IA May 27, 2009 We were contacted by Elect group to lower our interest rates. We sent in all the requested paperwork in time. I called at least once a week to check on the progress. After a while, I was told that the lenders had received our paperwork and were reviewing it. Middle of April, I contacted Elect group and was told that Aurora was making changes coming in May to go along with Obama's requirements. After May 1, I called again to Elect and was told they had not heard anything yet. I then called Aurora. They told me that in April they contacted Elect and denied our modification application due to our lacking in financials. I contacted Quantum also, who is our second and was told the same information. I reviewed the info sent to them from Elect and found many errors in the financial information I supplied. Such as my income to given to Quantum was half of what is really is. Daycare and insurance information was incorrect. I called and talked to James Lowe about the errors. He acknowledged the income error and could not understand where the other errors came from. I have requested a full refund. James Lowe tells me that I am entitled to one. When I was talking with Quantum and Aurora I gave the appropriate information and was approved within 2 minutes for a modification. They both said that if Elect had done this to start it would have been fine. James was to turn this in for a review and refund as of May 2. Today is May 27th and Mr. Riley will not return my calls (apparently he is the owner of the company). James had told me that the review process is 10-14 days and we are not at 25 days. We were not behind on our payments before this and now we are. We are working things out with our mortagage companies on our own. Report Your Experience
