GE Money Bank

Darlene of Sun Lakes, AZ August 31, 2009

GE Money Bank recently starting handling Dillards Credit Card accounts. I have been a Dillards customer for 40 years without problems. As soon as GE Money Bank took over, my credit limit was reduced from 3000 to 300, then in June 09, even though I paid my account on line and on time, GE chose to post it a day later and then charge me with a 39.00 late fee on a Balance 297.99;

the next month in July and then again in Aug 09, they refused both on line payments, charged me late payments for both months, then turned me over to collections and the credit bureau and closed my account. I have proof from my bank of payment refusals. My credit report has a ding; I have been charged with 3 months late payments and my account with Dillards has been closed for "unsatisfactory" payment.

arturo of Houston, TX June 25, 2009

There are two occasion why I opened an account with them, but the primary reason is due to 0% interest for 1 year. To cut the story short I got both approval to get financing with the merchant.

First incident: When I bought 2 beds: for worth less than a 1000 dollar. After a month of waiting for the bill and the card, I decided to call their office thinking there was a problem with shipping adn it may have gone to another mail box. For unknown reason, I just did an auto debit/credit to my bank 12 equal(for 12 months)corresponding payments for the money used for financing the bed. 12 equal payment was completed by the bank and ended so I thought.

A couple of weeks or a month ago, I received a call ( actually a voicemail since I was not able to pick it up) from a GE financial collection telling me that I was delinquent of my payments. Immediately I responded to the call and found out that they are charging due to late payment. After knowing this, I tried to argue that since some payment are falling on weekends, my bank is unable to process it. I even argue that I still did not receive the card and monthly bills that I requested. The people on the other side ( meaning I did talk to multiple person and tried to let them understand )were rude and giving hasty remarks. Making the story short again, made me pay instead of less than a dollar due a whopping 385.

Second Incident: When I bought wood floors: same story but this time, I paid I think a month extra. I never received my extra payment. and since I cancelled all the card I can not get it.

Jacqueline of Rocky Mount, NC August 29, 2009

For the pass few months there has been a few deaths in my family so my mother wanted to cheer me up and she went and got me a 4 wheeler. And told me to make the payments and they are as wrote in black and white of 133.00 a month to GE Money. So I fell behind because I have to keep going back and forth to the doctor I don't work I am on a fixed income. And I have Kids and this company wants to over charge me for nothing and when I talk to them they can't explain to me and they are rude to me.

They send my statement and I have all of them then they tell me that I am being charged 39.99 for late fee and a finance charge with no reason and now I have on my statement something about purchases I have not bought anything. And my Initial Purchase Amount on the 4 wheeler was 5,312.50 when I got it on sept. 16,2008 and payments are 133.00 a month my amount is not going down it is going up talking about balance is of now 5,116.28 how is that from last year til now something is going wrong and they can't tell me why. They tell me only that since my last late payment since 06/15/2009 that the finance charge will not kick in untill next month so I have to pay 174.28 until it kicks in for I can pay my regular amount of 133.00 that I usually pay. I have paid too much money for no reason and need help with a reason and how I can get some help and who I can contact on this matter this company needs to be closed down. Someone Please Help Me ASAP!!

I misplace a bill two months ago. A guy called to collect and I made payment over the phone including the late fee. The next month they included a late fee again. I made the regular payment without the late fee & now they are charging a late fee on top of the late fee.

Carol of Torrance, CA August 28, 2009

On my May 2009 Chevron credit card statement I was notified that one of my checks did not clear, so they charged my account 300 for the payment and 29.00 for the bad check and another amount for the finance charge. When I contacted Chevron to tell them that they must have made a mistake, because I do on line banking and have overdraft protection, they told me that my bank did not honner a check from Nov 4, 2008.

Well this was May so I was surpised that Chevron had just noticed this issue. I contacted my bank and they sent the confirmation to Chevron. I called back to verify that they recived the information from my bank which they confirmed. They told me that it would only take a few days to process it.

A week later I called back because the charges were not reversed, and that is when the person on the phone very rudly explained to me that they did not have any information from my bank and that my bank need to resend confirmation that they received the payment. My bank sent Cheveron the payment again.

In July, Cheveron finally reversed all of the charges. However, in August they advised me that they were recharging my account 300.00 for the Nov 4, 2008 payment, a bad check charge and finance charges. I do not known how many hours that I have spent with my bank and with Chevron, to only have this issue still on my account 3 months later. It is stressing me out and very unfair.

Scared of New Windsor, NY August 27, 2009

I signed up for automatic payment with my checking account for my CareCredit account. Big mistake. CareCredit took money out of my checking account before telling me they would do so (they took out money not related to a billing cycle). When I called to complain, I was told the transaction would be reversed and would show on my checking account in a certain amount of days. I checked my account after waiting the certain number of days and there was no reversal. I checked my carecredit account and the same amount taken out of my checking account was added to my carecredit balance (over 140).

When I called to complain I was told the charge would be reversed off of my carecredit account. I checked online and the amount was reversed. The next day the amount was added back on my carecredit account. I called and complained and was told a check was being sent in the mail to me. A check did arrive and it cleared the bank.

I am now terrified that CareCredit will once again take money out of my checking account not related to a billing cycle due date and I'm afraid CareCredit will add more charges to my account which I did not authorize. I called the DA in town and was told there was nothing I can do except send a certified letter.

I am so afraid of this company I did not list my name or where I live. Beware if you do any business with this company--they can drain your checking account without you even knowing it until after the money is gone. I called my bank. I can't do a stop order because I don't know when the CareCredit will take money out again without telling me.

Dora of Granbury, TX August 27, 2009

I received a letter informing me that my credit card with them was to increase their interest rates to 29.99. I do not nor ever have had a credit card with this company. I could not find a phone number to contact them. I resent getting this kind of trash in the mail. They cannot be honest and do this kind of thing.

tanya of corona, NY August 26, 2009

the manager that answered my call was so rude that she doesnt want to hear me out and started giving me an attitude about my inquiry that so and so im not allowed to ask them etc etc etc. if she is a good manager, all she has to do is listen and tell me nicely, but what she did is not a very good customer service.

tanya of corona, NY August 26, 2009

they are a collection agent for ge moneybank. my husband had an outstanding bill with ge moneybank. i was told by cristina that if i make a payment of usd 160 they would credit to my husbands account usd 79.00. what im upset about is after 3 weeks no credit was made to the account
