Conseco Sells GM Building

Greentree's troubled portfolio of mobile-home loans was sold to Conseco a few years ago, leading to the third-largest bankruptcy in U.S. history. Conseco has rid itself of Greentree as part of the bankruptcy proceeding, leaving customers in a fog, as these consumer reports show.

My mothers mortgage was sold to greentree. She has had some difficulty paying her mortgage due to being unemployed for the last 3 years. Despite payment being made, they call her neighbors, and tell them that she is behind on her payments to which one neighbor replied that they should not be telling her personal business like that. Mr F. of Greetree replied He would tell anything he wanted.

They are the rudest people I have ever spoken to. They are eager to thow people out of their homes. I would not recommend doing businees with them .

Michelle of Denver, CO December 10, 2008

Michelle of Denver CO (12/10/08)
We had a mortgage through greentree, and due to the harrassing calls and such we refinanced to 1)get my father in law off of the loan and 2) get out from under greentree. Our loan was bought back from greentree!!! The nature of work my husband was in and myself having been a full time student, we would slip behind, but we would get caught up. But every time, an agent would call, and one told me to divorce my husband, another said I shouldn't have gone to school, another told me to borrow money from my 17 year old daughter, or borrow money from her friends! She had me in tears.

This last time we fell behind, and I worked out a 3 month plan to get caught up, at the end of the plan I started getting calls, cause I wasn't truly caught up, I still had another month to pay. They called my mother, my neighbor and my father in law who has a severe heart condition to tell them we needed to call immediately. They call my cell phone, and our home multiple times a day to threaten me. I didn't pay on my student loans to get us caught up. We don't have a furnace, cause it's broke, and the payments keep going up. I'm gonna foreclose and be done- they can have the damn house. I would tell anyone wanting a loan with them to please beware.

I am in and out of my physicians office for depression. My father in law is worried sick. My credit is totaled. The late fees are incredible. My work has verbally corrected me for calls at work. And my cell phone bill is high. Our truck payment, my student loans are late, and my marriage is greatly suffering.

was in the rears on account. Ms E and her supervisor Charles are the most unprofessional individuals I have ever dealt with. Charles raising his voice at me when I told him my father was in the hospital and he told me I don't care...I am coming after your house today. Greentree needs to really scan there HR department as to what protocal they require new hire to have. I am sure one of the qualifications it that they can be cold and a JERK. On the other hand I called back in and a Ms G answered and took all my information. She was very professional and polite. They should look for more individuals as Ms G to employ and get rid of the other idiots.
