Homecomings Financial

Yvonne of Lancaster, CA May 5, 2009

I tried to make several attempts to gain a loan modification and have not received a reasonable response. I'm looking to modify my mortgage without unnecessary hassles.

I am one of the people who are blessed to still be able to afford my payments. But I have recently contacted Homecomings to get info about lowering my interest rate. I have gotten the run around and I am tired of it. I just started looking into the loan modification to lower my interest rate or reduce my principal balance. They told me to skip one month's payment and send in the modification paperwork to see if I qualify. This is INSANE. I do not want a bad record, I just need help! They still have not gotten a Obama solution and I think they are refusing to do something. Man, I filled out the paperwork and sent it in but they sent more paperwork back and said they need more information. I gave them what they asked??? Now after reading this site and pissed off customers, I am rethinking the need to go through Homecomings...

The worst thing is, is that I am wanting a new home and new neighborhood. What I pay for my home, I am not happy with my home and the mess I live around. I have vacant homes all around me, and they can not lower anything for me...I need serious help.

I don't know why I thought I was the only one having trouble with Homecomings. Over the last five years they have repeatedly charged me for forced homeowners insurance even though I have never let mine lapse. My insurance company has tried on several occasions to speak to someone to have this fixed, but with no luck.

I have also been working with Loan Modification. I keep getting messages that they have mailed papers that I need to sign and return, but after 2 months, no papers have been sent to me. Meanwhile, I keep fighting to hang onto my house at it's current rate. Who do I talk to?

I've been fighting with Homecomings Mortgage regarding forced Homeowners Insurance since March 2008; I have never had a lapse in my insurance, renew it annually myself, pay for it myself, it has never been part of my impounds. Homecomings has been applying my on time mortgage payments to this forced insurance charges and reporting my mortgage late every month since last July. I'm getting foreclosure notifications from them and phone calls each month.

They have been reporting my mortgage late; leaving it difficult for me to refinance with anyone else, getting away from my interest only loan. Also charging me late fees each month over 400 at this time.

Physically, they are affecting my health and the welfare of my family. I am currently disabled with a chronic illness at 44 years old; which after working for 20+ years, hasn't been easy for me. We have 4 children, 3 still at home and one of them was with me while being approached by a realtor who wanted me to list my 'distressed' property with him! This is tearing my family apart and I need assistance. I've called attorneys but they charge too much.
