Homecomings Financial

Shannon of Salisbury MD (03/20/09)
Not to scare anyone - but there are NUMEROUS websites dedicated to the complaints about Homecomings!! I think they are in the Foreclosure business, not the Mortgage Business!! I am going to call tomorrow to try to get a loan modification but I don;t hold much hope!

My payments have slowly been creeping up and I can't figure out why, they screwed me on homeowners insurance about a year ago (took me about 8 mnths to get that straight), and I have had nothing but negativity from their Customer Service reps. This company needs to be investigated or something, especially now!!! Stop paying attention to Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac and go after rip-off artists like Homecomings allready!!!!!!!

Don't even need to go into it do I??

Homecomings Financial sent me notice that my taxes had not been paid yet for 2007. This happened the beginning of 2008. My practice is to pay my taxes at the end of each year; but the 2007 amount was being paid the beginning of 2008 because of being self-employed, I was waiting for monies owed which made the time-line go into 2008. I was putting the money together to pay the amount, when they (Homecomings) went to my facility and paid 3 years of taxes.....I had no notice from my loacl court house or any foreclosure proceedings regarding any kind of tax sale and verified the 3 year payment with the court house. Homecomings notified me that I had to pay the 7,000 plus amount in monthly payments in the upcoming year which raised my mortgage payment about 900 a month.

I called them to find out why since my contract never had a condition for escrow and did talk to a representative to refi the loan. It did take them months to notify me what they were going to do and they never raised my payment for about 6 months. They did raise it starting December 2008 and I have made 4 payments towards the amount. I do see that they record the payment on my billing. My objection is what they did in paying 3 years of taxes and then notifying me and not calling me back concerning any refiance possibilities when they said they would.

This has caused me a financial hardship to other payments I am responsible for and have looked for other financing possibilities. That has not proven yet possible due to the economic situation and the ripoff that is happening to the US taxpayers and lending institutions are not helping homeowners to protect us from fraudulent lenders such as Homecomings. When you are a no-doc self-employed person in this country, you can only plan on being used and abused.

This has caused me considerable hardship in paying and keeping current on my other monthly responsibilities. Being self-employed does incur some hardship on its own merit because money is never a regular amount any certain week. I was told by another lending institution (who could not help me with all the economic situation as it is) that he did think what they (Homecomings) did anyway was illegal considering that my contract never had an excrow clause to begin with.

We had set up an agreement with Homecomings Financial in December 2008 for payments of 2000.00 every month until June 2009. January 6, 2009 we sent our 2000.00 check in, which they cashed 2 days later. Come February 17, 2009 we sent our money in and come to find out that they did not cash our check, but sent it back. We found this out after calling Homecomings Financial to see why it was taking so long to cash the check. They had stated that the funds did not represent the full amount to reinstate the account, so they had sent the check back.

While I was speaking with a gentleman we had set up an agreement with him to over night 2000.00 in a certified bank check for the month of February. He then also told us to send 903.40 for March 26, 2009 & April 26, 2009 certified. Now, if I meet with these terms after the last payment, Homecomings Financial will set us up with a fixed rate for five years. This will help to rebuild my credit score so that I can go and refinance with another bank.

I have also talked to another person at Homecomings Financial, and they stated to us that they have no record of the agreement made or the 2000.00 check that was sent. We asked what it would take to bring the account current and she said they could not provide any information.

This company concerns us, because we feel that we have received the run around, and no one seems to have any idea of what is going on. What is happening to the money that we have sent them???? And why, is there no one that can give us any information on the account...this is our account, we have the right to know what we owe.

We believe that people are telling us things just to get money sent, but we have requested numerous times for copies of the agreement and nothing has been mailed out. It is getting very difficult to believe anything from Homecomings Financial agents.

We had not received any letters telling us that our home was in foreclosure. We did not find out until we had called to find out why they did not cash the February 17th check. We feel that things have been handled very poorly on Homecomings Financial's end but we are doing everything we can to save our home.

Homecoming continously over charging me. Keep asking me for loan modification info. They never send info by mail no data. They call you and tell you how much you need to send and say they will get back to you. They are not professional and it is extremely scary. They leave you completely confused.

I am extremely nervous. Constantly losing sleep about this situation. Dont know who you can trust at homecoming fiancial

I came to this site and I cannot believe I am not the only one all this has happened too. They (HF) have taking my credit for a ride - charges me late fees when the money was allready taken out of my bank account, added their own home owners/fire insurance for me adding up to 3 times the amount os my regular insurance coverage. I call and get rude people and their constant calling automated system is killing me. We I do call them back I am put on hold or no one can help me. I wish 20/20 would look into this.
