Nikoli of Fallon, NV August 15, 2009 I just paid off 900 to pay off my computer loan with HSBC. I asked them to send me a statement telling readers that the account was paid in full, and ahead of time. They didn't do that. They sent one that said "The account was closed." Not, who closed it, or that I paid it off early. Tiffany of Tell City, IN August 11, 2009 My husband had got a loan check issued in his name and sent to our address about three years ago the loan was deposited and verified through beneficial and since then never had any problems quit receiving statements and called in to see what was going on stated that the info I was giving them could not be verified and that the account number was different and the address and social was different somehow or another the account was changed into my father inlaws name and social and address and now they are saying it's past due and my father inlaw isrsponsible how can they do that and when I talked to them again stated they didn't have the socials on file until we verified them so what can I do. Nicolas of DeLand, FL August 11, 2009 I signed up online to have my payment made through my checking acct. I made my payment on time using the instructions on the website. Under account number on the website, it said to enter the account number (mine)0014409843||'as an example which is what I did. The problem is that with my bank account there are two more numbers after the ||' and the HSBC website said to stop after the ||'. This resulted in my timely payment being returned for NSF and a charge of 25.00. I had over 2.900 in my account and it had nothing to do with an NSF. I have tried several times including faxing document from my bank and a voided check to show what happened, but they refuse to refund the 25.00. I followed there instructions, made a timely payment attempt and have been treated like a criminal by the company. Sofia of Shafter, CA August 8, 2009 I paid HSBC in 3/03/09 for the account of an orchard bank visa. On 4-10-09 I then paid LVNV (collection agency.) Not realizing at the time that it was for the same account. HSBC should have not accepted the payment if it had been sold to LVNV. These were both listed on my credit report with the same account number. It is critical that one of these accounts must be deleted from my credit report. The gal I spoke to at HSBC name is Misty Kiosi of Riverview, FL July 30, 2009 Ever since I moved (4 months ago) I have only received one bill, but have been paying in the blind using my online banking service. During the Month of June I did not receive a bill so I made a payment of around 70 not knowing what my minim payment was. I decided to call the 1-800-298-4240 number on July 30th at 3:00 ET to find out why I was not getting my bill. The verified my address and they said it was sent on June and only a partial payment was received (70). I ask them how much my bill was and I was going to make a payment. I also asked how much for next month so I could go ahead a pay both months. Everything was fine until the representative mention I had a late fee of 36. Since I did not get my bill that month, I found it unreasonable to pay 36 dollars for a problem that was not my fault or was not within my control. I asked the lady to wave the fee and she said that I had already asked for it once before. This was my first time calling so it was not possible. Eventually she backed up and said that I did qualified. Then she changed her mind and told me that I did not qualify since I still had a balance. I told her that I'll then pay the balance. The said OK, but then she changed her mind again. Apparently there is only a 2 day grace period and she told me I still have to pay the late fee for next month. I asked to speak to a manager and at this point Leon came in the line and introduced himself as the floor manger. I explained the situation about only receiving one bill from them on the last 3 months. He said that they could not verify mail problem so he could not wave my fee. After back and forth explaining that I'm a good customer and under no circumstance am I taking advantage of your system, he decided to meet me half way. I told him that I will not pay the late fee because it found it to be unreasonable and unfair. I even offer to pay off the whole balance, but he would still not wave the fee. I believe to be extremely low and shallow behavior that requires urgent attention. When a person offers to pay the whole balance of an account and the manager refused to wave a fee at the loss of 36 dollars in late fees, it seems there is something wrong with either the company, procedure, or this employee. I iterated that if the fee was not waved, I would NOT pay on this account any more. I would Initiate protective measure through the 3 credit bureaus, place a complaint with the better business bureau, and place a complaint with HSBC. He still did not wave the fee. I was deeply insulted and now I'm just outright agree. I have initiated protection actions with the 3 credit bureaus to protect my credit from your company. I will not make a single payment to this account until the late fee is waived, and that includes any other fees that might arise from this incident. If I'm not satisfied with the outcome, I will NOT pay your company and seek legal action to protect my credit and my assets. I do not mind paying, but I do mind being taken advantage and pressured into punishment for an event that was not at my control. Pranjali of Pune, India July 24, 2009 My husband is having HSBC Personal Loan, from last 1 year he is paying the EMI regularly. But before 5 months he lost his job and due to the recession period, he didnt get any other job offer till now. Due to this problem he is unable to pay the EMI from last 2 months. The HSBC peoples are not calling him or me on mobile even if they are having our mobile number and they know our home address. But they are calling my parents who are living in a small villege and the HSBC people are blackmailing my parents on phone. Karl of Keller, TX June 29, 2009 HSBC is the fincae company which underwrites the Best Buy Credit Card. My account although current had not been used in almost three years. I intended to use the account this past weekend and was told the account had been inactivated and that I would have to apply for a new account. I did as they requested. My request for a new Best Buy account with zero percent interest for three years was declined. However, they were willing to open a Mastercard account with an interest rate of nearly 25% APR. I did not request the Master card account and therefore declined their offer. Today I contacted HSBC in order to discuss their reason for delining my request. They said their decision was based on past due accounts being reported by Equifax. I went on line to the Equifax website and requested a copy of my credit report. The information in my Equifax report was not consistant with what HSBC told me. I contacted HSBC a second time and told them I had a copy of my credit report and what they were telling me was not consistant with the information in my file. I was told there was nothing more they cpuld do to help me. My account with HSBC in the past was handled as agreed. I paid the account off in full prior to the end of the promotional period and they were not able to collect interest fees. I beleieve they did not want to extend credit to me again because they realized that I would handle my account the same way and that they again would not collect fees from me. Instead they wanted me to accept their Master Card which would generate fees for them from the very beginning. Best Buy is promting a Three Year No Interest Finance Plan. HSBC is underwriting the promotion. I am being told that I do not qualify for the promotion because of negative information in my credit file. I beleive I am being discriminated against because HSBC realizes they won't generate any fees from my purchase. Rachel of New York City, NY July 21, 2009 I moved to New York just over two years ago and set-up an account through HSBC (June 2007). About a year into that relationship, HSBC started charging me 50 a month in account fees which unfortunately I didn't notice as I was not aware of any account charges. I noticed a good few months later and they refunded me 3 months back saying that was policy, however, would not refund any more and couldn't tell me why I was being charged that money at all. That means I've paid these thieves 400 in bank fees for one year. I know it is not a huge amount but it is too much to be paying a bank with no good reason. Trevor of Ann Arbor , MI July 14, 2009 This account was compromised I paid it off and shut it down.My personal information was compromised and account taken over I am 23 I have never paid my bills late. Next thing I know I have 3 collection bureaus hounding me for the same account for now 2232.00. My high balnce was 500.00. I closed the acccount after paying I was in India the employees name was Turek.I contact all 3 credit reports have fraud alert up and there are 3 companies trying to sue me for the same account Then I was threathened by ARM a collection for HSBC. They sent a letter stated it would be removed within 60 days . No it was resold to 3 creditorsmy mother paid a settlement of 478.00 189.00 to ARM. I told her you do not pay Fraud accounts but she is ill and the 42 plus harrassing calls got to her. FTC told me never pay a FRaud accountmy credit harmed. The 3 credit bureaus have done nothing to protect me.I have had it edmund of rome, NY June 18, 2009 My payroll check issued through HSBC Would not cash my check because I did not have 2 photo id's I had several insurance and other benefit cards, they would not do! I never had a problem with other branches and the bank manager a woman she was rude to me. occured on 6-18-09 @ 330pm. I ran out of gas on the way home and was really upset I WALKED SEVERAL MILES IN POURING RAIN I EXPLAINED THAT i HAD IN FACT HAD CASHED MY CHECK THERE SEVERAL TIMES IN 09 WITH OUT INCIDENT.
