Billie of Temecula, CA September 13, 2009 HOW CAN LITTON JUST CHANGE THEIR MINDS AFTER WE MADE OUR "TRIAL PAYMENTS"? We did our loan modification in July, signed all paperwork and made our 3 monthly payments on time. Today is September 13th, and I should have been sent my final contract in the mail by now. I called Litton to find out where my final package was, and after all these month of making my payments...they told me that my modification was just declined and is scheduled for auction. How can they lead us on like this? How can they give my family hope, just to pull it out from under us? We did everything they asked of us. It would have been one thing to tell us that we were going to lose our home up front...but to tell us everything was approved, accept 3 months of payments.... then at the final hour, pull our home out from underneath us. Shameful. Keith of Henderson, NV September 13, 2009 I was trying to work on a loan modification and talking with Litton Loan Servicing after my loan was sold off to them. Even though, I kept calling them, and they never returned my phone calls, and I sent them all of the information that they requested, and the representative said that they need to review it, they just went forward and did a trustee sale and left a note on the door that I have 30 days to leave. Linda of East Granby, CT September 12, 2009 Granted a trial modification after sending in same paperwork twice. Two days before ending, modification denied for missing forms. I have a sub prime mortgage sold to Litton. I lost income and equity and wa unable to get a reverse mortgage. I have extreme expenses due to college tuition for children and self, recently divorced and am a senior citizen. I have medical expenses - no health insurance for 4 years. I was told on Aug 24 by George Washington , real name, at Litton, that all papers had been received. I wired payment September 1st and was told on the second, when giving MTCN number that modification was denied because they were missing a tax form that I completed late in the summer and did not tell me I needed. One week later I called and they told me to send the acceptance form and sign the tax form. (It was e file). I had to file late. Three days later I called - this is a full-time job keeping on top of this - they told me that I needed to send another utility bill. One day later I called and they could not find my original Hard ship affadavit. My state has a wonderful mediation program. If this next modification trial does not workout, (assuming they give me another, propably will because of living in CT, and the mediation program hasn't expired, I will use that and refuse a modification from Litton. If that does not work, I have no choice but to file bankruptcy, hope I have more money, and try to save my home. I have been here for almost 30 years. They take the money that you send them for the modification and do not apply it to the mortgage. My credit just gets lower. If they keep stalling, the CT law that permits mediation for foreclosures is set to expire in the Summer of 2010. This may force me to file bankruptcy. I don't know if any of the money I paid was applied to insurance or taxes as it claimed on the temporary modification. I doubt it, so now I owe more taxes and I have to re purchase home insurance. Tony of Florissant, MO September 12, 2009 I did a loan modificatoin approval letter with them and i filled out the papers over the phone with and i did the three months plan with them and i was told that if by the end of august if i haven"t heard from them go ahead and send in another payment in the amount of 657.14. well i tried to do the payment over the phone and they would not except my payment. they said that my house was already under foreclose and that they have to sit back and do some thinking, well every time i call they give me the runaround that i did"nt complete all of the paper work correctly. i told them yes i did. i have rescipts from me faxing them to you all, they always say well Mr. H. i"m looking at what it says in the computer. I told them every time i call i get told differently about the paper work. do you all think that i would not fill these paper work out and risk letting my house go under foreclose. no i don"t think so they told me. well after you send these papers back to us then that will be all we need. we will reopen your loan, well on 9-11-09 i tried to pay them. they told me that if i send them a payment that the money will be sent back to me. so thats why i want to file this complaint statement because they keep given me the runaround. Rita of Mesa, AZ September 12, 2009 My adjustable rate mortgage was sold 3 times, and is currently with Litton. It was a bad mortgage: 40 year ARM with balloon payment at end, interest close to 9% that changes every 6 months. Plus, the house is now worth 50% less. I have called, emailed, and written to Litton about modification. I have been routed to numerous people, none able to give any concrete information. I was told I have to be behind in payments before they can do anything.I have never been late with a payment. I am trapped. I can't get a new loan, and I can't get Litton to modify the current loan. I have talked to numerous real estate, mortgage, and legal professionals - they all suggest that I let the house go in foreclosure. Hollyce of yucca valley , CA September 11, 2009 Litton loan servicing has giving us the run around in trying to apply for a loan modification. They have lost or claim to have not received requested documents needed. They do not call back when you leave messages, and do not tell you when they need other information from you, you have to find out from them! We were finally granted a "3 month trial" modification, only after I sent numerous angry emails (someone from an outside source gave me a Litton officer's email, I will post it on your site to help others!). But now after reading the stories on here i am afraid that they will not extend the modification! Christopher of Burnsville , MN September 11, 2009 Will anyone come to the assistance of the consumer? Judging by the numerous complaints being posted against LLS, not. Like so many others on this site, we have been trying to work with Litton to modify our mortgage since the end of 2008. In June, 2009, we were told we were approved and given a lower rate and payment. Two weeks ago we called to inquire why Litton was reporting our mortgage payments as "late" damaging our credit beyond repair. They stated they were missing information on our paperwork and we are no longer approved. We were absolutely shocked, to say the least. Also surprising to us was why no one from Litton bothered to contact us and tell us. Today was a breaking point. Today, a week or so after initially hearing we are not approved like we thought...for the past three months, we received a letter from a local law firm stating we are default and our home is scheduled for a sheriff sale on October 29,2009. I am beside myself. They won't answer our calls and hung up on my wife earlier. It appears they are in the business of ruining people's lives, versus helping them. Judging by others "exact" same experience, it's apparent this company is taking advantage of the current economic hard-times to line their pockets and pockets of their shareholders. How could people be so cruel. Consumer Complaints state you are receiving thousand of complaints. So, what is being done to protect us? My wife and I are employed, make over 100k a year and haven't missed a payment. Who's out to protect us? Why is nobody investigating the business practices of this chop shop? Please...somebody do something to prevent them from doing this to others. rosa of freeport, NY September 9, 2009 i called litton for help to modify my loan back in december 2008. i spent all my time calling them trying to get someone who can help me, but each time i kept getting diffrent answers,i gave them all the information to apply for a modification and it was not approved i got a letter in the mail stating that it was declined by the investor. them i called again and the lady says yes are approved for a modification, within a minute of her saying that she says o wait no your not approved you can get a pepayment plan only. and that mean i have to pay 5000.00 a month how is that possible? she was no help. they are rude they never give anybody a chance, and when you get someone who works with you directly they dont even call you back and when you call them they never pick up. i have no idea what to do now. all they say is that my house will be in foreclosure. and i even have a sale date for this month of september i have a 18month at home. and my husband and i both are struggling to make dead end meet. i dont understand why litton loan servicing refuses to help me and many others? the value of my home is 260k and i owe 440k. i keep calling them but its so depressing to call them beacause they dont give you any hope. S.Morse of Casco, ME September 8, 2009 Afer reading all that was printed on Litton Loan, I realize that I am not alone in this! This company is a scam. My loan was also sold from a known lender. I applied for a modification, and was dealt the same deck of cards. I either sent a form in incorrect, they never got the forms or paperwork needed or didn't get the paperwork in time. Then they denied the loan modification. Only to re-submit it and have the whole process start over! This is ridiculous! Why is this company still in business. I have filed a complaint with BBB and also with my Congresswomen! I will be happy to join in a class action suit! This company is "raping" good people of their hard earned money. Pamela of Smithville, MO September 8, 2009 We called our mortgage company asking for a refinance, but they indicated a "Loan Modification Program". They sent us the paperwork and we filled out all the necessary paperwork, had everything signed and set it back. We were put on a three month trial payment period and as long as we paid the amount by the 1st of the month we were reassured that there would be no complications in getting the modification approved. Two weeks later the phone calls started. We didn't have have out tax documents signed (we filed electronically so there was no need for signature) and we didn't turn in other paperwork (which was not asked to be returned in the original paperwork). We submitted the necessary information and asked if everything was okay, did we have everything in required. Again we were told "yes everything looks good". The following month, again we received yet another phone call indicating that they needed more paystubs from us. Again we faxed in this information and asked the rep if there was anything else they needed. Again we were told no, all the paperwork was turned in. We also received monthly, letters from them on "intent to accelerate mortgage" since their computers did not recognize the loan modification process and these were done electronically. We received these certified and by regular mail. We called Litton and asked them about this. The rep who would answer would indicate that we were behind on our loan and we needed to make a payment. I would explain to them that we were on a loan modification program and that we were paying the amount Litton told us to pay. After the rep "reviewed" the account, we were told that yes we were in the modification program and to disregard the letters. One week before the trial was to end, we called Litton and asked if everything looked okay, did we need to send in any last minute paperwork (being as the past three months we were dealing with "we need this") and were told that no we had everything in. On Sept 4, 2009 we received a letter from Litton indicating that we were denied the loan modification because of they did not receive the "additional required information". I immediately called them and questioned them about this asking them what happened. All the rep was able to tell me was that she was sorry I was given incorrect information but in fact they needed this paperwork. After 3 months of dealing with these people almost weekly and everytime we were told that everything looked great and we had everthing required turned in. Then today, Sept 8, 2009 we get another letter indicating that if our home was not in foreclosure then they would be placing it in foreclosure. We called them again asking what was going on. The rep indicated to my husband because we were no longer in the loan modification program that we owed the back pay but if we wanted, they would place us back in another 3 month loan modification program. At this point, we are beside ourselves in what to do. How do we come up with the back pay money they want because we sure aren't going to do another 3 months of this stupid program! We wouldn't have done the loan modification if this was going to be the outcome and if we weren't constanly reassured that we had everything in and we were making the payments on time. All this time, we were dealing with their Loss Mitigation department but conveniently when you call, you can't get transferred to Loss Mitigation, you have to speak with collections. And because we are now considered "behind" on our mortgage, they are reporting us as such on our credit report bringing our scores down to that we cannot refinance with another company.
