Kelly of Madison WI (09/20/08) Wachovia charged me 140.00 in overdraft fees. There were several transactions that processes on the 19th of September to my checking account. Many transactions were for under 10.00. One large item of 134. In short, they stated that they pay from largest to smallest which is what caused me the fees I incurred. If they would have payed the smaller items first I would have only incurred one fee for the larger item.
I cannot afford to pay them 140.00. I am an low income-unemployed mother. I can't pay my mortgage as it is. I don't want Wachovia to close my account as uncollected funds and be placed on check systems. I need your help.
Amber of Chesapeake, VA September 19, 2008
Amber of Chesapeake VA (09/19/08) Over the past few months Wachovia has changed the way they process transactions and deposits. I have banked with them over a year and never had the problems I have had over the past 2 months. I have incurred over 300.00 in overdraft fees since August. They used to put my deposits first and now they are deducting things from my balance that still has a hold on it.
I called customer service today to inquire about yet another charge and they said it was for a charge that shows on hold, I said how can you charge me a 35.00 OD Fee for something that hasn't cleared yet. They said because it processed last night I said I have 2 other pending/hold charges why didn't those bounce. I am closing my account once I switch my direct deposit and my other automatic deposits. It's not my fault they are down money and are trying to screw everyone to make money.
Ann of Chesapeake, VA September 18, 2008
Ann of Chesapeake VA (09/18/08) i was going into debt and they were the only company who would not work with me on payments they flat out refused the partial payments i could make, they called me everyday asking me for the full payment and when i could pay it. after numerous times i've tried to explain my situation they would't help me the harrassment didnt stop. now they are gonna repossess my car and ruin my good credit and there's nothing i can do. they told me to pay 900 by the end of the week or they take my car away. i don't know what to do, i called citi bank and they couldn't believe what they did.
They have cause me mental and emotional stress. I'm going to have my credit ruined and i don't know who will approve me for any loan now. There was nothing I could do or say to negotiate anything now it's going to look like i avoid payments. I've had anxiety attacks due to their harrassing calls everyday, i stopped answering my phone. No one deserves to be treated like this under any circumstances.
Steven of Sacramento, CA September 17, 2008
Steven of Sacramento CA (09/17/08) I deposited 10000 some odd dollars this past friday, only to be told that they have to put a hold on the check which i kinda expected. They allowed me to have 2260 of the 10000, so i went on spending like most of us do, i check my account balance more than 5 times a day. So when i checked it today it said i was overdrafted 343.and somne change so i called the bank customer service could not help me, so i went into the branch and they told me that it was my fault for not keeping track of my tranactions. Which i do.
anyways they [took] 225 dollars which im trying to get back because it was their fault. They take the bigger check card purchases and prosess them through and leave the smaller amounts like 4.67, and 5.68 and charge an NSF fee. which ends up costing the customer hardship. I want to close my account but they wont let me.
I was going to use that money for school but it looks like i cant now, they've messed up my whole life.
Jackie of Woodstock, GA September 17, 2008
Jackie of Woodstock GA (09/17/08) My daughter who is 18 had an account with wachovia. My daughters account was overdrawn and wachovia did not notify me that they were going to take the 481.00 out of my account. they just took the money out my account and overdrew my account making me have several hundred dollars in overdraft fees. I called customer service in which they transferred me to the recovery department that processed the transfer of funds from my account and unfortunately Irene said I can't help you, you need to speak to customer service, I explained to her that customer service transferred me to her because her department did the transaction.
I was then placed on hold for 30 minutes for a manager and the manager finally came on the line and said she would look up the account. The manager never came back to the line and took my information and hung up. I am giving up on banking.
