Erika of Orlando FL (05/08/07)
Recently, I made a cash deposit in my Wachovia account. It was March 20th 2007, which was a Friday. After this deposit, I went to Wal-Mart and used my debit card. That Monday, I was charged 2 NSF fees and 10 to use my overdraft protection.

The deposit I made was 850 on top of the 160 that I had in my account. I had some small items come through and spent about 140 in Wal-Mart. I still had over 700 in the bank after the charges, the NSF fees and the 10 fee so you tell me what’s wrong with this picture.

They charged me to use my own money that I set aside for overdraft protection. And did not credit the cash deposit until the following Monday and refuse to make the change.

They continuously charge me late payment fees. I've disputed and proven to them where the original error was. Only to be forced to deal with their unethical business practices.

My auto payment which I make monthly shows a 30 day delinquent. Plus the over due balance accrues interest at an astronimcail rate. I've been disputing this with them for over 2 years.

My mom had an account with Wachovia which I had signature in case something happened to her. In 2002 that account was closed due to my mom entering a nursing facility. Wachovia paid something that came in instead of sending it back and advising THE ACCOUNT IS CLOSED they paid it. They kept sending me notices for my mom, I kept telling them she was not at this address and send it back.  My mom passed away and they still kept harassing me. Yesterday (2/27/07) the recovery department debited from my savings account the charge that they paid from a closed account (117.04). I contacted the recovery department and spoke with Nicole who checked and informed me it was a mistake and the money would be put back. Today I check my balance and I see that another 117.04 has been debited AGAIN.

Christina of Port St Lucie FL (01/25/07)

I looked online to find out how much money I had and earlier that day went to the grocery store and that went through and I still had a positive balance. The next day I went to lunch with a friend and spent less than what I had left in my account. The next time I looked there was two overdraft/unavailable funds fee which put me in the negative. The first one was after my grocery debit which put me in the negative. Then they put through my lunch which made it go more in the negative. Finally they put through the last overdraft/unavailable funds fee.

If they would have taken out the amount of money out then there shouldn't have been any overdraft/unavailable funds fee at all. I tried to call and take care of it but all I ever get is their line of how it's my fault. This isn't the first time they have done something like this but it is certainly the last.

I have been dealing with ridiculous overdraft fees through Wachovia the past few months. They tell you that the online banking is user friendly, but when you go on and check your balances and try to manage your account, you get screwd with fees. I had several debit purchases that were due to go through the account, but instead of them paying those, they chose to pay a check that would have wiped out the other 4 debit amounts and allow them to gain 140 in fees.

I called customer service to find out where the fees were coming from and they mentioned a check. Well the check was nowhere to be found on the online banking system! So I just had to take their word for it and accept the fees. They said that it will show up tomorrow and it will cost me 105 more in fees when it is all said and done! Because the original fees have caused a snowball effect. Which is what they do to make their money. I also found out that I get paid every other Thursday, but I do not have my funds accessible to me until Friday. So they sit and make interest off my money for a day! I am done with Wachovia. I will be settling up the fees and removing my money from their bank ASAP.
