Two years ago my daughter was in a peanut butter eating contest at a sports rally at her school. She had consumed a jar of peter pan peanut butter. After she came home from school she had severe vomiting and diarrhea. She ended up the emergency room on IV's for severe dehydration. After several weeks of dr visits I told her doctor I thought it was the peanut butter. He said peanut butter would not cause problems like this. She was never checked for food poisoning. She ended up having to have a upper scope done and put on stomach medicines. This cost me a lot of money. All of my family has had symptoms of GI illnesses because my brand of peanut butter was Peter Pan. I feel some of us have developed Reiter's Syndrome from this.

My daughter had been experiencing sharp stomach pains, and throwing up. My symptoms have been more severe, for 2 weeks straight, I suffered from cramping, and severe diarrhea. Never putting together that it was the peanut butter making us sick. I am worried that this might have some long term affect on both of us. My daughter has been sent home from school twice this week. She continues to have cramping and still throwing up. She will see the doctor tomorrow, and I will have her and I tested.

The peanut butter that was tainted killed my grandmother. My grandmother Rosie Haskins, 81, died Feb. 26, 2007. She had been sick for months with stomach cramps, vomiting, diahera, dehydration and an infection no one understood. Unfortunately, it was not until her death we found the peanut butter sitting in her bedroom almost half eaten. While she was in fact an older woman she was in great health and full of life and vigor. It is so sad that she had to lose her life at the hands of utter carelessness. I empathize with the other families and want this company to feel pain behind the lives lost and the people affected by this issue.

I became very sick after eating a couple of peanut butter and jelly sandwiches when I got home from school. I had uncontrollable diahhrea, vomiting, stomach cramps, and I was very lightheaded. I am a student in college so I also missed school and work because of this.

After consuming Great Value Peanut Butter with the product code beginning 2111 in late November 2006, I became violently ill with severe cramping, sweating and violent vomiting that required my hospitalization for two days.

I have 2 children, a boy aged 7 and a little girl aged 18 months. They are anemic and the doctor gave us a list of things they could eat to help, one of those things being peanut butter. I bought several jars of walmart brand peanut butter last year and since that time my children have constantly been sick for months. They vomited, had severe cramps, diarrhea. My son keeps complaining his stomach hurts, he had diarrhea constantly. My son was only 55 lbs, now he's around 49. My daughter was taken to the ER 2 times and every time we were told that it was a viral thing, it just had to run i's course, but it was highly contagious and to wash our hands.
We took the kids to the doctor several times. Then in February it was announced about the Salmonella poisioning, I looked on the jar of peanut butter in the cabinet and sure enough it began with the number 2111- that explained everything, because not only did my kids have the symptoms, but my husband and I had also had them without realizing it. We just thought it was the flu and would run its course. My son has not had an appetite since this has started. He will hardly eat anything. I'm wondering if he will ever get better.
I lost days of work, worrying and stress over why my kids were sick, not to mention the nights when they were up vomitting, having diarehha etc and why had I given them something that had harmed them and my whole family that was supposed to be ok. I question myself, why didn't I throw away the peanut butter when it smelt funny to me.

On 2/27/07 I went home for lunch and made myself a peanut butter sandwich. I returned to work as usual and around 5 pm started having a severe headache. After work I went home to lay down hoping I would wake up feeling refreshed and the headache would be gone. At 6:00 pm I woke up with stomach cramping, nausea and diarrhea. I took pepto-bismol but it didn't help at all. I started vomiting over and over. Around 8 pm I called a friend that's a nurse to see if she had any prescription anti-nausea medicine. She brought it over but I couldn't keep it down. I continued to vomit but this time it was blood I was spitting up.
She asked if I had eaten anything that could have given me food poisoning and I said No, all I've had today at all is a peanut butter sandwich. Immediately she went to my kitchen to check and it was the tainted peanut butter -- 2111!!
I continued to get worse and she took me to the Emergency Room. I'm glad I went when I did because at one point I was so dehydrated and sick I passed out in the middle of the waiting room. I was having stomach cramping, severe headaches, diarrhea, and vomiting. I spent most of the 2 hours waiting on the doctor in the bathroom. Once they got me on an IV and gave me medicine for nausea and the pain I started to do better. It has been 6 days since the trip to the ER and I've missed 3 days of work and I'm still not at 100%. I THOUGHT I was going to die. I haven't ever felt so sick in my life.

I ate Great Value Peanut Butter with the 2111 label on Monday 12 Feb and Tuesday 13 Feb. On Wednesday 14 Feb, I became ill... with vomiting, cramps, nausea, diarrhea, and extreme discomfort. My wife consulted a physician by phone (I was too sick to talk) and he prescribed an anti nausea medication. I was sick for 48 hours but the medication did stop the vomiting after only 8-10 hours.
The only economic consequences were the cost of the medication, and two days out of work which put me behind in duties requiring make up time on weekend.. but no monetary loss. I was weak for 5 to 6 days.

My daughter was sick off and on for two months with vomiting, diarrhea, stomach cramps and we had the 2111 peanut butter. I called the health department as instructed but they woult not test the peanut butter, saying it had to be a lab-confirmed case of food poisoning. I was told to call their 800 number and was told they would do nothing but throw out the peanut butter.
My dauther was very sick and went to two doctors and many tests with no results costing thousands of dollars and she missed a lot of school and is behind.
