BOGSÁNYI of Macgregor ACT, Australia June 23, 2009

I was offered a chance to win a bed and it was made to appear that it was the same company I attended a demonstration with. (It was not and this is a clear case of fraudulent misrepresentation) I had a visit from a salesman and bought a bed for A6165 and paid a deposit of A1500. The bed was delivered two days later.

1. heating - not provided (case of fraudulent misrepresentation) 2.Wave massage - not provided (as above) 3. Half the buttons not operational. 4. No manual provided.

Larraine of Houghton Lake, MI June 8, 2009

This is my second complaint. The first is that the bed is extremely uncomfortable and I was told it would help my back. Now I have written to the company about the fact that the mattress is tilted, feels like I'm going to slide out of the bed. Since I wrote to them a few weeks ago about that, I have now lost the use of the remote. My bed is now stuck in a position that I cannot sleep in--I was trying to get it to work and was adjusting it---then it quit!

I put in new batteries, and checked all outlets with no success. Now I have no bed! I wrote and told them to come get their piece of junk, with no response. I am going to send out another letter today. I have quit making payments on this bed. I already had to replace the motor once, for the massager--the new one is so loud I can't stand to use it!

Aldana of Hiawatha, KS June 5, 2009

I filled out a craftsmatic bed sweepstakes card..I got a phone call from the sales woman..she said she was going to come up and talk about the bed and if I didn't want the bed,she was going to give me a 500 gift certificate. She never did call or show up. Come to find out the 500 gift certificate she told me about is supposed to be used on the bed and not for anything else. She was not specific about the gift certificate. She made it sound like it was a regular gift certificate that you can use on anything you wanted and she was a no call and no show...I waited and waited for her to show up,but she didn't have the decency to call me and let me know that she wasn't able to come.

We filled out the postcard that said win a free bed, May 2007, the man came out and tryed to get us to try a bed, he even put his manager on the phone and he practically begged us to buy this bed which we knew we couldn't afford. He offered us all kinds of deals and payment plans, but we stood our grounds and did not buy, now l'm reading all these complaints, I'm glad we followed our first minds. Then we received the 500 gift certificate for just letting them come out and demonstrate this bed, and each time I went to the web site to try to redeem it, they had all these weird things that no one in their right mind would buy.

Finally I came upon a few items and I ordered them but you had to pay for the shipping and handling which ended up costing as much as the items were worth, so to me this was really a rip off. The catagories they had never matched the merchandise offered. I know I don't have as much of a claim as those who actually bought these beds, and I really feel for them, and I'm so happy God gave me the insight not to go with a purchase of this bed. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to let our voices be heard.

I purchesed an Adjustabled bed from Craftmatic of new England in Boston MA on 6/14/2009 from a D. Siersdale on a layaway plan. The company was sold to Contour of New England.sometime around 9/ 2008. I completed payments on 2/17/2009 by personal check of 655.00. L. Bardin was the man in charge or owner that I spoke with. He told me that they, who ever they are would call and set up a delivery date. I waited and waited at least two week and nothing happened. I called back only to be told they would be calling . But they never did. March 20th or so I tried again to find out when delivery would be made. The secertary said they would call TUESDAY and Deliver on Wednesday I called Wednesday his employee stated they had problems with the truck. My bill is paid in full now a check that was sent in January,I had forgotten about, they receiver it 4/7/09 made out to contours of New England. They cashed I need that monies back and my bed which I have not received as of yet.

Sam of Hermiston, OR May 2, 2009

Several years ago we were high pressured into buying twin Craftsmatic beds in excess of 6000 to replace our old king bed. I won't repeat the criminal techniques this company uses to sell their product for over twice a realistic value because thousands of complaints, several lawsuits, state and federal investigations, and now a senate investigation addresses these issues.

The problem I have encountered was getting this outfit to resolve problems with squeaky nylon bearing at pivot joints. When they came out they used WD 40 on the joints which was only temporary and collected dust making a greasy mess under the bed. The problem finally resolved when the bearing wore enough and loosened up. I found the company service reps very rude and trying to paint themselves as victims. Anyway that was a few years ago. The beds worked out fine for my inner ear problem since I have to sleep with my upper body elevated. I wish I had bought from a different company that charged a fair price and offered replacement parts.

My current complaint is the controls have worn out and don't work due to bad connections. I want to purchase new controls, but the phone numbers I had for repair are no longer in service. One toll free numbers says to call another number and pay 5.49 a minute. What crooks! I finally found a toll free numbers that you have to leave a message on for consumer relations for Contour beds. I have yet to get a call back. Another complaint is we never got replacement mattresses as promised in a year trial period. Another complaint is the joke of a massage device they charge hundreds for with the fraudulent idea it gives you the same feeling the back massage they give you with their criminal sales interrogation does.

Their website gives no information on how to get replacement parts or have them honor the lifetime warranty on the motors.

I am in favor of a federal lawsuit against these criminals demanding that they refund at least half the purchase price to everyone that has purchased one of their beds and give a contact toll free number on all their ads and offer replacement parts at a fair fixed price or refund all the purchase price of the beds. The owners of this company need to serve some federal jail time for premeditated fraud. Why has this company been allowed to continue?

Does anyone know where to get replacement parts or how I can sue for money back to repair the beds without cost to me for the lawsuit? I have no problem paying a fair price for replacement parts, but one would think for 6000 these beds would last at least 20 years. It needs to be published on the internet that if you ask the sales rep or "hit person" to leave they must do so immediately or you need to call the police and have them removed. Any elderly should always have another person present when these crooks show up. Also many stores carry adjustable beds from reputable manufactors now and they offer trial periods, etc. Craftsmatic or Contour or whatever name they switch too, should be exposed on National TV, newspapers, and the internet. They have to crease to exist.

Patricia of Rancho CORDOVA, CA April 27, 2009

I foolishly sent in a postcard saying "win a Craftmatic bed". Before I know it is A scam a saleswoman was at my door. She stayed over 4 hours badgering me & using the tactic of the price is lowered for this sales campaign only.I was so exhausted I agreed to buy a full sized bed for 3990.00 which I could ill afford. This was on a Friday. She told me the bed would be delivered the following Monday. I told her I needed more time to get rid of my current bed. NO she said, they had a schedule to keep and the bed had to be delivered that day. I was never told I had a trial period. To make a long story short the bed arrived in 3 days & I had nowhere to put it. The men refused to take it back and squeezed it in my garage. A month later they came back and set it up.

Since then I have not had a decent nights sleep. I have fallen off the mattress twice & been stuck on the floor until help came. The mattress is too hard & hurts the joints that come in contact. When I complained of this to the company their attitude was this was not their problem. I was forced to spend another 200 for a thick foam pad to try and make it softer. I just tried to make the best of it. But now the mechanical part is not working. It is dead, not moving up or down and no massage. I cannot find a phone # to call for service either on line or phone information. I am still paying off this stupid bed & it is hurting me physically & financially. I do not know what recourse I have. If you have any suggestions I am looking forward to hearing them. Please stop these people from preying on the elderly and disabled. (I am both)

Louissaint of Auburndale, FL March 17, 2009

Louissaint of Auburndale FL (03/17/09)
On January 2008 I purchased a Crafmatic bed for over 6000 dollars. My Wife was in a recent accident from her job and she was in a lot of pain. I saw the Craftmatic bed advertisement om tv and on the internet so I signed up for a free demonstration. Well to make a long story short I found myself being pressured into 6000.00 in debt with a monthly bill of 325.00 and a broken bed. As for 500 shopping certificate we could never use it because on the WAshopping .com there is nothing worth the amount of shipping and handling charges being offered. I' am tired of people taking advantage of me and my hard earned money. If anyone out there knows about a lawsuit going on against this company please blog about it. I want my money back.

I am currently seeking debt consultant help cause I can't pay them. My wife's back did not improve and I have a broken bed that I' am stuck with.
