Marilynne of Colorado Springs, CO May 8, 2008
Marilynne of Colorado Springs CO (05/08/08) I accepted a sales offer for a Contour Bed knowing I could exercise the Cancellation option. After pursuing information at this web site, I did not want to do business with a company who had a a number of complaints. Also, I had discovered that I could purchase any number of contour beds at a reasonable price when I was financially ready. I mailed the Cancellation Notice which was received by the company two days before it was due. It is now 7 days past the time when they should have credited my account with the refund. I am now disputing the charge with my credit card. This company is unethical.

Aaron of Abilene TX (05/06/08) I was on a sales call with a customer about a month ago who had filed a Chapter 7 bankrutpcy. The customer advised me of his situation, and I immediately stopped the presentation because of the legal ramifications on the customer. I called in, spoke with Ron Garrett, explained to him the situation. Mr. Garrett stated that it would be fine to go on with the credit application because the inquiry would not show on the report. Thus, the judge would not find out. I spoke further with the customer and we both agreed that this would not be wise. I then called John Starcevich with the information. He then accused the customer of lying about his situation; like someone would lie about a Chapter 7? PLEASE! John asked to speak with the customer and began to insult the man! The customer then ended the call with some choice expletives.
IF YOU ARE READING THIS AND ARE CONSIDERING WORKING FOR THIS COMPANY, DO NOT DO IT. YOU WILL BECOME PARTY TO THEIR UNETHICAL PRACTICES. WHAT IF YOU HAD A LOVED ONE AND A HIGH PRESSURE COMPANY WENT TO THEIR HOME AND INSULTED THEM FOR NOT PURCHASING A PRODUCT THAT WILL NOT MAKE A BIT OF DIFFERENCE IN THEIR LIFE? OF MAYBE THIS HAS HAPPENED TO YOUR LOVED ONE.
Aaron of Abilene, TX May 4, 2008
Aaron of Abilene TX (05/04/08) I recently resigned my position as Sales Rep for Contour / Craftmatic Adjustable Beds. The reason I am a former rep is because of being put in position to take advantage of people. Let it be known that I pride myself on not being a high pressure sales professional. With that little bit said, I answered an ad in the local newspaper to become a sales rep for then Craftmatic Beds. I began officially on January 21, 2008. I have never come across people who lie for the sake of lying.
Here is the drill: a telemarketer will call you to set up an appointment, whether you consent or not. I, the rep, show up at your home at either 10, 2, or 6:30. By the way, if there was no answer at you do, i would call executive sales to let them know you are not home. They call your home and if no answer, I would wait 30 minutes in your neighborhood. If after 30 minutes you still were not home, yep, the call routine and another 30. after that, by that time I am hoping you were not home. This would more likely be if the appointment was more than one hour or so from home. This always tourqued me off!!!
Anyway, once in the home, a research survey is conducted. after the survey, the dvd. after the dvd, the presentation. pricing of the bed, then the call to offer you a great deal (wink, wink). To shorten this up, you are pressured, but not the sales rep in your home, but by the closers the reps must call from you home. notice after the first call, you are offered a price drop because you are such a wonderful person and the company is looking out for you. if you do not take the offer, the closer in executive sales asks to speak with you, to thank you for having the rep at your home - that is when you are pressured.
A lot of times you feel forced to buy, and THAT IS NOT RIGHT!! If you are a senior adult, please do not respond to the calls. who can afford 21% finance terms? Not a senior adult! You may or may not get your needs met by the company. Heck, the sales reps cannot get a stright answer about cancellations and credit turn downs. This is not a nice company to work for or with. They are only in it for the money, plain and simple.
To find more about the company, go to the Better Business Bureau website, type in Contour Beds in Aurora, Colorado. There you will find the unsatisfactory rating! I could write more, but that would not accomplish anything. I want to offer my apology to the family in Abilene. Had I known you would get a lemon, I never would have gone through with the full appointment. We were both pressured. Dale of Pardeeville, WI April 29, 2008
Dale of Pardeeville WI (04/29/08) I bought a CraftMatic back in 3/2005 since then I have had one failure after another which the company has failed to stand behind. Head support frame (which holds the head and moves up and down) failed and had to be replaced my cost. Box spring which is attached to the frame of the bed and cannot be removed has collapsed and needs to be replaced again my cost. There is a worm gear that drives the head of the bed up and down has also broke and again it is not covered under there life time limited warranty. So after 3500.00 and three years I have no bed.
I am out 3500.00 and have no bed to sleep on. Robert of Pickens, SC April 3, 2008
Robert of Pickens SC (04/03/08) My wife and I bought an Craftmatic bed in August of 2004. we asked the general questions about the bed and were told if anything ever goes wrong they will replace it free ,even the matress with a 15 year warrenty and replaced free within the 15 years.
The matress (2) twin are falling apart with the springs poking into you. I call 4-3-2008 and was told I would have to buy new materass for 700 dollars and Craftmatic has gone out of business as of 1-1-2008
