Furniture Plus
Bronx, NY

Yvonne of the Bronx writes:
I purchased a livng room set for $1300 and the delivery was made on 3/10/00. The store was contacted regarding that the furniture had been damaged during the delivery, and my husband was told that the damage would be repaired within two days of delivery.

I have made several attempts with the store salesperson, and I was told that it was beyond her control. I've been given the runaround, and the salesperson told my husband that she couldn't talk over the phone, because she had customers in the store. My husband was given several dates as to when the damage would be rectified, and no repair has been done as of yet.

The furniture is ripped at the seams and the legs are all scratched. I was told that a man would come to my house and "paint the legs and they would look like brand new". I also stated that the furniture was ripped at the seam, at which I was told to speak to the salesperson because they had nothing to do with repairing furniture. This is new furniture and should not be in the condition it appears.

I am not satisfied with the quality of the merchandise, and once the store got there money, they do not seem to care of our complaints on the matter.

Yvonne should sue the store in Small Claims Court.
