Hampton Bay Patio Furniture |

Hampton Bay Furniture, sold by Home Depot stores, is manufactured by JRA Furniture, headquartered in Cerritos, Calif., which proudly boasts that its furniture is made in "factories throughout Asia." Yes, and we can think of many consumers who would have been happier if JRA's glass=top tables had stayed in Asia. Besides Hampton Bay, JRA's glass-top tables are sold under a number of brand names, the most notorious being Martha Stewart. Her line of patio furniture, sold by Kmart, has produced an explosion of complaints from consumers about its nasty habit of exploding all over their patios and decks. See Sounds of Summer: Martha Stewart Tables Shattering for all the gory details.
Luis of Santa Isabel, Puerto Rico September 13, 2009 Ceiling fans, Model Nassal from Hampton Bay, have a weak support on the blades. First, the support started to bend toward the floor, apparently due to the weight of the blade that looks like a leave. I have two and it happened the same to both. They are aproximately 1.5 years old. It has happened the same to some other people known. The fans look really nice, but I would not recommend them to be bought. Shari of Pendleton, SC September 8, 2009 Purchased Ham[pton Bay glass patio furniture and 9 ft umbrellla...umbrella came apart at tilt area, pieces falling out causing damage to glass and no further use of umbrella. Home Depot not honor replacement (out of warranty). now after viewing other glass complaints will not replace Carol of Petaluma, CA September 5, 2009 I purchased the Hampton Bay 9 ft. Solar Lighted Umbrella from Home Depot in San Rafael about 1 1/2 years ago. Yesterday, I came home and the umbrella had cracked and broken in the pole where the umbrella can be tilted. 2 pieces were on the ground, the metal piece was literally twisted/broken and the umbrella is laying on my table on its side. Their warranty is covered for 1 year and when I called Home Depot they said that, without a warranty, there's nothing they can do. William of Camanche, IA August 30, 2009 Received our patio as an anniversary gift ,it rains and we have RUSTY WATER that pours out from every direction from the chairs and table legs comes out for days after a rain . It has ruined the outdoor rugs that were under the set, left a rusty color all over the patio ,that does not come off,am not happy with the whole thing and know our children are upset with the 50th anniversary gift that spews rusty water constantlly and has colored our whole patio with rust. Karon of Port St.Lucie, FL August 19, 2009 Hampton Bay Table exploded. Made complaint to Home Depot said they did investigation and found nothing wrong. how can 5000 tables exploded across the US and nothing is wrong. They said the manufacture went out of business and I can pay 250 for a new glass top. HOME DEPOT NEEDS TO BACK THEIR PRODUCTS AND RECALL THESE TABLES Kyle of Royal Oak, MI August 17, 2009 I bought a Hampton Bay patio set in 2007 at the Home Depot for 499. It was the rectangular table with 4 chairs and 2 swivel chairs. We were having 50 people over for my son's first birthday party starting at 4PM. At 3PM we heard a loud explosion from outside. To my amazement I found the glass table top completely smashed. Thousands of tiny pieces everywhere. It was a complete disaster and we actually had to move the party to my in-laws because of the broken glass. This product is trash I would not recommend it to anyone. Home Depot should be ashamed of themselves for carrying such a cheap product! Casey of Kettering, OH August 14, 2009 Hampton Bay 3 piece dining set. Chairs broke at welds. 300 down the drain. Kristina of Silverton, OR August 10, 2009 Purhcased a Hampton Bay patio set with a glass table top. The table top exploded all over my daughter, who was adjusting the umbrella. She ended up with multiple shards of glass in her arms and legs and bled. I had to hose her off with the garden hose to get the glass off - it was everywhere, even in her hair! I am appalled to hear so many other folks have had similar experiences with the glass table tops. This is a very unsafe product and I will recommend folks go elsewhere for patio furniture. My daughter was injured and I'm out of a table top. Jim of Carmichael, CA August 10, 2009 Hampton Bay patio glass top table. One afternoon the glass exploded into many very small pieces. No one was hurt; everyone was inside our house. What a mess! We feel very lucky. We were finding glass slivers for weeks after. And a few finger pricks from the glass. dennis of gloversville, NY August 9, 2009 glass top shattered on my new patio set i just bought and havent used yet !!its sitting in my basement waiting for my deck to get finished and glass is broken for unknown reassons and 300 dollars at the local glass shop to fix it???????cmon Report Your Experience
