JRA Furniture

JRA Furniture, headquartered in Cerritos, Calif., proudly boasts that their furniture is made in "factories throughout Asia." Yes, and we can think of many consumers who would have been happier if JRA's glass=top tables had stayed in Asia.

JRA's glass-top tables are sold under a number of brand names, the most notorious being Martha Stewart. Her line of patio furniture, sold by Kmart, has produced an explosion of complaints from consumers about its nasty habit of exploding all over their patios and decks. Ditto for table sold under the Hampton Bay name by Home Depot.

See Sounds of Summer: Martha Stewart Tables Shattering for all the gory details.

Kristin of Daniels, WV May 18, 2009

I purchased a bar style patio set from K-Mart under the Martha Stewart label. The glass to this set, just shattered. I researched the Martha Stewart website and then contacted K-Mart in reference to my problem. I was told that I would have to contact the manufacturer JRA furniture. I found that the phone number has been disconnected and numerous e-mails sent have not been answered.

I purchased a 7 piece patio set (Garden Oasis) from Sear in Annapolis Md on 03/26/06 i still have the receipt/tags and supposid 7 yr warranty on the quality of the product. It now has all the paint chipping off the whole edge of the table. It is enclosed in the winter and is in a gazebo in the summer. The company i called on the product card that was attached to the product when purchased is JRA Furniture Industries. Of course they are out of business.

Sears had no comment and they have NO company to this day backing any of their products. I would like to know what everyone is doing about all the money they threw away on such POOR quality furniture. I will NO longer shop at Sears for any product in the future. I spent 629.99 of my HARD earned money on something that i cant sit at without cutting my wrists. Could someone with any positive recourse from this, PLEASE email me or call. Just cant be comfortable sitting at a table that the paint is bubbling up and peeling and scratches your arms.

I purchased a KRA patio set. The patio glass table top shattered within the year. The patio set is from the Martha Stewart Everyday Garden and it was purchased in K Mart.

The glass top is very expensive to replace. Did get some cuts trying to clean up the thousands of little glass parts. I am afraid that the back yard won't be safe for my kids to walk bare foot this coming summer.

the entire set of my Gazebo 3 S74531 is just falling apart piece, the connecting tubes, the canopy, the column post, all of these parts which makes up the gazebo itself is not with standing any element, are are just crumbling even as we speak.I may or may not be able to use it this spring and summer, i have just about had it in regard to patching it up over and over again, month after month, it makes no sense.

The damage is one of a constant chore, breaking down is occuring more than one care to remember, even the metal rods that support the canopy is colaspsing, and i dont know how safe it will be to use it for the spring/summer season 2009. AN entire new set would in my opinion be the best awy to salvage this situation

I purchased a JRA 13 piece patio set...table,8 chairs, umbrella, and umbrella stand.....along with a six piece bar set from Sam's Club in 2005. It is uncover on a patio and still the paint is all chipping off. It is becoming an eye sore. It has a 5 year warranty but the company is now out of business. Are there any class action suits against them? I have read plenty of stories of other buyers having problems with their products as well.

Terri of Woodstock, GA January 31, 2009

Terri of Woodstock GA (01/31/09)
I purchased a JRA Furniture Industries Toscana 11 Piece Dining Set and a Lifestyles Collection 6 piece Bar Set from my SAM'S Club. The umbrella fabric prematurely came apart and shredded. I called the company since we have a five year warranty expecting a replacement but to no avail. I learned on the internet that the company went into bankrupcy.

We have lost confidence in SAM'S CLUB and warranties. We will now have to get a custom made umbrella that will not match the set's fabric. We were absolutely dismayed and sick over this product's failure, the financial loss and the use and enjoyment of our patio set.
