JRA Furniture

JRA Furniture, headquartered in Cerritos, Calif., proudly boasts that their furniture is made in "factories throughout Asia." Yes, and we can think of many consumers who would have been happier if JRA's glass=top tables had stayed in Asia.

JRA's glass-top tables are sold under a number of brand names, the most notorious being Martha Stewart. Her line of patio furniture, sold by Kmart, has produced an explosion of complaints from consumers about its nasty habit of exploding all over their patios and decks. Ditto for table sold under the Hampton Bay name by Home Depot.

See Sounds of Summer: Martha Stewart Tables Shattering for all the gory details.

I puchased a 20'X20' Gazebo from Sam's Club 2 years ago and the top has completely dissentigrated. After more research I finally reached Victoryland Group who is now the owner of JRA Furniture.I wanted to purchase a new top but was informed tha they no longer make the parts for these gazebos anymore. 1100.00 and no replacement parts available.

I have a frame with no cover and now will have to have a custom top made for it. Pricing so far has been from 400 to 950.

I purchased a Multi-position Chaise Lounge and I sat on the chair the the pvd sling fabric broke and i fell thru my chairs. Can that be replaced. I spent alot of money on these items and i would have thought they would have lasted longer.

I bought the Palermo gazebo about five years ago at Sam'. I put it together myself (not sure how I accomplished that). I loved it. Right away I called the company to see if I could get an extra top as I knew it wouldn't last forever and was told they only sell to businesses as they don't have a retail license. I was shocked when it lasted less than two years. After reading all these complaints, I'm glad I didn't waste more money.

I bought a 12 x 12 'sail' from Overstock and attached it to each corner with good, short bungee cords and it is not perfect, but better than nothing. I guess I got a good frame as I have no complaints about it. I don't buy things at Sam's any more as everything I buy (and not cheap either) seems to be just junk. Paid 1000.00 for a chair and it fell apart.

John of Cape Coral, FL September 26, 2008

John of Cape Coral FL (09/26/08)
Purchased June 2007 a Gazebo. By May of 2008 the frame had rust through and pieces actually fell off. As with others Sears only suggested we contact the manufacturer. No contact could be made by phone or e-mail.

Complete loss of purchase @600. Damage the concrete deck due to removal of mounting bolts. Left exposed the patio set (not JRA)to harsh climate and loss of use.
