I've been a LZB owner since 2004 and have been thrilled with their products. I've never needed customer service, so imagine my surprise when I did. May 2024, I purchase a new sofa, ottoman and leather chair. In that one year, my chair has had two attempted repairs at home and two repairs at the warehouse. They've replaced the entire mechanism and the problems persist. I've asked for a replacement but was informed that's not an option. They have now had the chair more than seven weeks and respond to about every fifth email I send, then the update is we are waiting on a part. This is ridiculous and I'm so disappointed. At what point do they decide the chair is a lemon?! Sadly, this will be my last LZB purchase. They are throwing away a customer of 22 years with extremely poor customer service.

Store manager John **’s prompt response to my website "Recliner Quiz" and subsequent email invitation to meet with Tianna seems to have worked out nicely for all of us. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our shopping experience with Tianna. She was most attentive to my need for a powered recliner with an emphasis on comfort and flexible motion to serve my post-surgical needs while satisfying my bride's and my mutual desire to maintain the continuity of the decor of our home. She nailed it! In fact, she nailed it so well; we purchased two Astor Power Wall Leather Recliners from her!

Again, John’s immediate follow-up and acknowledgment of our interest in their products really cemented our resolve to visit his store as soon as we could. That level of personal attention to a prospective customer really made a positive impression. We knew he was a human who cared...not just another bot delivering a canned response, thank you!!

Finally, the product knowledge and professionalism, combined with a healthy appreciation for humor, that Tianna and John demonstrated throughout our entire shopping and purchasing experience makes it easy and pleasurable to highly recommend both of them, personally, and their La-Z-Boy Manchester, New Hampshire Furniture Gallery to others! Great furniture and even greater people!

I purchased a rug from La-Z-Boy that is such poor quality. It has a ton of pulls. I even had a warranty on it and they said it is not covered. I would never purchase a rug from them. It is not worth the money.

I’m very unhappy. The sales rep said the recliner measured 29 across. It is only 26. I should have measured it myself. It was clearance. It is unreturnable. I won’t buy another La-Z-Boy product. I’ll find something on Facebook marketplace or Ashley Furniture.

I purchased a La-Z-Boy chair for around $1,200, expecting quality that would match the brand’s reputation. Within just six months of normal use, the fabric has already begun to fail. The threads constantly pull, and I am literally having to trim them with scissors regularly just to keep them from looking worse. On top of that, the footrest appears to be very poorly constructed, almost like a bad stitching job, which is shocking for a chair at this price point.

What makes this even more frustrating is being told that none of this is covered under the manufacturer’s warranty. Fabric durability and basic construction should not be considered optional or require a separate protection plan—especially this soon after purchase. Instead of standing behind their product, I was redirected to La-Z-Boy's "limitations & warranty info, along with the third-party company (which handles the extended warranty), adding more hassle for something that should be straightforward. That response alone says a lot.

This has been an extremely disappointing experience, and it has absolutely made me question whether La-Z-Boy is worth the investment. If this is the level of quality and support customers can expect, this will likely be our last purchase. Buyers beware—make sure you fully understand what is (and isn’t) covered, because it may not be what you expect.

We purchased 2 recliners. Since they were ordered, we didn’t receive them for a couple of months. About a week after the purchase, we received a call that we missed signing the agreement for the 36 month interest free financing. Upon reading the paperwork, there was a nearly $200 charge for activating the interest free loan. That was the first scam! Then they wanted us to purchase a warranty for about $400. We never purchase warranties. We were told that if we didn’t use the warranty, we could use it on future purchases. We purchased the warranty. It wasn’t worth the money. I consider this a scam also. Once we received them, it didn’t take long before we started noticing the poor quality and workmanship. Probably why they want you to purchase the warranty.

I tried contacting customer service for over 3 weeks. When you call the number, you get a recorded message from Yolanda who stated she’d get back with you within 48 hours. Only after I called the store and complained that Yolanda finally called me. She was quite rude and acted as if I’d interrupted her day. They finally sent a repairman to our home who said it needed to be oiled. The chairs creak and squeak and sound as if they’re falling apart. The roller that leans the chairs back bump and pop, once again, sounds horrible.

After that failure, they sent the guy back out again. Another failure. They finally took one of the chairs to the shop twice, each time claiming there was nothing wrong. Also they were never in any hurry to send out a repairman or to take the chair into the shop. I had to wait 10-14 days each time. I might also add that I wrote the CEO of the company which was the only way they took the chair in for repair. While she responded to me the first time, she failed to respond to my second letter. La-Z-Boy is NOT the same company that it used to be. I have 20 year old La-Z-Boy recliners in better shape that the 2 we purchased to replace them last year. I am extremely disappointed in everything about this purchase and feel totally scammed by this entire process. I DO NOT RECOMMEND La-Z-Boy or their products. Total scam! Take your business elsewhere. A complete 0 stars for a rating.

Paid 3600 dollars for a "James" recliner sofa at Pleasant Hill CA. Within a few months, we noticed the backs were flat and causing us shoulder and neck pain. The sofa was styled very differently from the showcase model at the store, which was fluffy and had a cushion shape like a smile. Reached out to corporate headquarters, and they sent a furniture handyman out to recushion one of the 3 back cushions, but said he was paid to do just one. The store manager reached out to me after a bad Yelp review and said she wanted to help, but then argued that comfort is "subjective" and said that our warranty only covers defective or broken items, so basically just contacted me to waste my time. Will a BBB complaint help? How do you deal with a dishonest business like La-Z-Boy?

When I walked into the store, Malcolm Dubose greeted me and asked what I was interested in. He found the perfect fabric for the chairs I wanted and then helped my autistic son pick out what he wanted for his space. He spent a lot of time having him try different cushion comforts. It is not everyday that you find someone willing to spend so much time helping an autistic person find furniture that he is really going to enjoy. I am so happy he was there and helped us find the perfect furniture for us. If I should need more furniture, I would go back to La-z-Boy and have Malcolm help us again.

David Hampl and I worked out a deal for another chair. I am satisfied with the outcome.

      Original Review: April 17, 2026

11 days ago I wanted to order an in stock recliner for the total price of $1122 (including tax, delivery and protection plan). But the sales manager talked me into an electric version with similar fabric for a total price of $2720 delivered in FOUR to 8 weeks. I knew I was paying too much but I figured I could count on the La-Z-Boy Company to treat their customers right. Boy was I wrong!

Today I get an email saying the fabric is out of stock and my delivery will be delayed by 4 months from today. I talk to the manager but they won’t let me have the $1100 dollar chair that I originally wanted unless I buy $1600 more furniture from them. NO REFUNDS. STORE CREDIT ONLY. Or I can go in and pick a different fabric and restart the 8 week process. Who knows if that fabric will be in stock. BUYER BEWARE! This place is run like an old fashioned used car dealer. The manager Rob had the nerve to tell me that the manufacture of my chair had already begun. Wow! Like they’re going to let a partially manufactured chair sit at the manufacturing plant for 4 months waiting for new fabric to come from China. One more thing! They won’t take away your 5 year old worn out La-Z-Boy recliner, so prepare to call Goodwill or the trash company.
