i bought a beautiful bedroom set, Aug 2007, A sleigh bed, 2 night stands and the tall dresser w/ warranty. about two months after the delivery, the furniture was loosing its luster, seams began to open revealing the unworthy craftsmanship, at this time i found out they were going out of business, NOW WHAT? My parents own something similar thats about 16yrs old and still looks new till this day!!

my chief complaint is that i want my warranty or NEW FURNITURE. I'm still paying for both with no one to come and fix it, oh and by the way, god forbid if your late with any payments, they dont even take into consideration that i was paying on it before the first paymenyt was due in Sept 2008! they are ruthless.

Amie of Las Vegas, NV February 10, 2009

Amie of Las Vegas NV (02/10/09)
2 years ago, I purchased a bedroom set. I loved it, it was beautiful in the showroom. When it was delivered, I noticed a bit of shoddy workman's ship. Broken handle on the dresser drawer and the bed frame was cheap. None the less, I have been using the furniture and paying my monthly payments on time, a bit more than the monthly payments each month. Still, after 2 years of payments, the outrageous interest rate has caused only 600 of the principal to be paid out of 3500.

This is the most insane thing. I called Levitz and asked for a reduction in the interest rate, they told me that it was totally normal for them to charge 150% interest. that is how their financing plan works. So now, I have no choice but to keep paying, and paying, and paying. this is crazy, I wish I had never bought the furniture.

the financial strain has been obvious. there have been times when other payments had to be late, for fear that levitz would come and repo the furniture.

Velia of Brooklyn, NY January 22, 2009

Velia of Brooklyn NY (01/22/09)
My husband and I were engaged to be married and we decided to buy furniture from Levitz for our new apartment. We purchased our bedroom set living room set and kitchen dining room set, all with a warranty. I am so disappointed! My bedroom dresser cracked and my table is chipping, and if water or soda spills on the table it stains! It's supposed to be a wood table!

I called Levitz and they came in to see both the dresser and table, they sent me a letter that they would replace damaged items. well now its months later many calls later and to no avail. Shortly after I come to find out they are going out business. This company is aweful! I am paying for ruined furniture thats not even a year old! This is utterly apalling, a company has stolen money from many people and they get away with it becasue they file bankruptcy! There should be legal ramifications for their actions!

I would like to know what will be done about my furniture and the extended warranty I paid for if my furniture is falling apart and no one is taking ownership for this! I have over 4000 dollars to pay for furniture thats aweful! My husband and I are paying a company who stole money from us!
