NC Furniture Buy Direct Internet Furniture Seller Slapped With Court Order
Consumer Complaints

More about Furniture ...

Cheryl of Madison, AL October 30, 2009

Placed an order Aug 1, 2009 for a 5 piece bedroom set, paid by credit card. According to terms on website at that time furniture would be delivery (on all orders)would take 20-80 days. I have made several attempts to get a reasonable status update but have only received run-around. Today is day 89, chatted with so called live person who asked me to hold a moment and then responded with can I have customer service call you back today. This I am certain is just another run-around.

Economically we are out 1291.92. We could have purchased furniture locally and had within a week. Website claims it will not give refunds once order is placed and so the consumer is left hanging with absolutely no recourse apparently. Physically we are concerned that this company is operating a scam and we will not receive furniture we ordered or a full refund...not to mention compensation for mental anguish this has caused.

On January 15, 2006 I went to ncfurniturebuydirect.com and purchased a bed called the Hunter's Hideaway Tent Bunk Collection for 315.00. I thought it was unique because it had a ramp and not stairs to the top bunk and I was adopting a puppy and I thought this was great and she could come up and see me if she wanted just by using the ramp. I spoke to D. Buck, CEO & President, on the phone and after he got my information I was hung up on in the middle of the conversation which I thought was weird. I never called back because I figured he got my information so it wasn't necessary. Little did I know I was being taken for a ride.

On the phone I explained to him that their wasn't enough on the visa card I was using so I would go downstairs to the post office and buy a money order for the rest owed. Fine. I actually purchased a simon visa card to buy this product and when I went on the website it showed that he tried to take the full amount on the credit card and it was declined. It finally approved him for the amount I told him was on it. I actually sent him the money order for the rest I owed: 22.50. I still have the copies of the receipts. Also I never got an order number from the website which I thought was odd, too.

I lost 315.00 to this company and I never received the product or a refund. I wish I knew if this company is still being investigated and my money returned soon.

Ordered bedroom set and the delay in delivery went well over a year, then when I tried to get a refund they said they had refunded, and again, months passed, and they kept saying that they refunded, and ultimately stopped answering the phones. This company is set up to steal our money. Worse yet, when I called the Department of Consumer Protection, they told me that they have hundreds of complaints agains this company, and many were families that were trying to put their life back together after Katrina. 3,500.00 is a lot of money for me to lose, but I felt even worse that they were praying on people who has suffered so much. It's dusgusting and shameful. Why are they allowed to advertise under another name now? Why has this person (the owner) been convicted of a crime?

I am out 3500.00 of VERY HARD EARNED MONEY! It's this kind of parasite that should be locked away. Taking money from people who actually go out and earn it - you are no better than low life breaking in to a home and stealing whatever you can find.

It appears that ncfurniturebuydirect.com is selling under a different name of ncfurnitureunlimited.com. Go to www.ncfurniturebuydirect.com and scroll to the bottom of the site, click on the line with North Carolina Furniture Buy Direct, Inc. it goes to a www.ncfurnitureunlimited.com site. So I went to the BBB report for this company NC Furniture Unlimited and it is the same owner, Russell Buck. So Buyer's Beware

I ordered a brand new leather living room set, which cost close to 1700.00. I did not receive the furniture nor did I receive a credit to my credit card. I complained, was told I would receive the credit, but did not. My credit card company tried to fight it but they could not get the money. Now not only do I not have a living room set, but I'm also out 1700.00.
