Simmons Mattresses

Barbara of Chiloquin OR (02/04/09)
We purchased a Simmons Pillowtop Exceptionale mattress in July 2007. Within weeks the mattress developed body impressions that worsened until by December 2008 my husband, who has had lower back surgery, was sleeping on the couch to avoid pain. We took photos of the 1.75 depressions, which Carlsons assured us qualified for a replacement. The mattress has a 10 year non-prorated warranty.

The hitch is that I didn't save the obnoxious law label that was attached to the top of the pillowtop. I retained the wrong tag, which contained the same information regarding the identity and origin of the mattress. I do not believe that this stipulation would hold up against any state consumer protection or FTC laws. I also believe that the huge number of complaints regarding the pillowtop mattress failures and stonewalling tactics by the industry warrant a massive class action lawsuit. My husband and I now both suffer from chronic back pain as a direct result of this mattress. Any attorneys out there who want to take this on? This is beyond the limits of intentional infliction of pain and suffering!

i am trying to get warranty service for my simmons beautyrest heating blanket, but after calling 3/4 weeks, he told my wife to send everything back but did not give her an address. i called back several times since, about the return addresas but got no answer. the name of the company is not clear enough to me so i do not know any more other than it is in asheville, nc.

the internet says simmons had a hugh blanket recall in 2007. it also said that international home fashions and bilt safe technologies are out of business. that is the outfit that made to blankets in china. i can not believe that this ,mike, in nc. is this busy he can not call me but once in four weeks. customer service aint what is used to be! help!

damage? 5 calls to in calif., 8/9 calls to nc. and still a 75+ blanket that is no good. no free be 800#s in this outfit!

The center of the mattress caved in, broken down, and the manufacture shifts the responsibility under the guise of warranrt from the seller. The mattress is not usable and is only 3 to 4 tears old. Sleeping on it causes extreme pain on right side of body ,back legs and arms go numb. A actual health hazard. and they will not budge of correcting the problem.  Extreme pain to back, legs and arms, your body goes numb from sleeping on it, and wakes you up at intervals not to exceed 1 hour.

My husband and I purchased A mattress from USA Mattress.com in Feb.2008 and by June 2008 I emailed a letter to this Company on how this mattress sank.Yes it sank not only over 3 under myself, and further under my husband. The mattress under my side squeaks and feels like something hard is pressuring up against my back. The Company never responded to my email.Again I email them after no responses and here it is Dec.2008 they respond they don't deal with Warranty issues. The mattress was only 3-1/2 mos new.(supposedly new)I then pursue the Warranty issue for the entire mattress set Cairo Plush/Firm Cal-king.What a Joke!!!

Numerous emails to Simmons, all the excuses they can think of took place. These are the new materials we use to make our mattresses, these are body impressions. Well this is the 2nd mattress set we have gone thru with the same issues in less than 2yrs.We're out 3,000, I am experiencing extreme back pain, with my ribs feeling bruised every morning, and my husband who is not a small person, experiencing shoulder cramps, and back spasms.Like everyone else who has filed a complaint against Simmons, we went thru the Inspector coming out and inspecting the set, the tape across the mattress and the pictures. How can one make or base a decision on defaults without lying down, sitting down on the mattress. It's only common sense that a mattress can spring back without any pressure on it and from here is where he takes his scale from.

I complained 3-1/2mos after the purchase and at that time there were no soil/stains on the boxsprings, and today because of their delay in responding to do anything there is now a slight soil - only on one side of box spring.Denied Warranty! I had already knew this would be the decision just like the first set we went through. Our question: Are these new sets being delivered or are they refurbished, returned products, or are they not the real Simmons product.I would like no replacements on any of their products, I would like my monies returned for if not both sets, the one we still have.I sure hope something is done about this not just for myself but for the others in the same position as us. Thank you.

I purchased a Simmons Beautyrest Hutson mattress in July, 2008. I wanted a soft mattress and this was it. After I had it for 2 weeks, while laying on it--it sounded like a spring popped underneath me. Then 20 minutes later it happened again. So, I called customer service (L. Scorziel, Pres. of Banner) and after much arguing, she sent out a mattress inspector. He measured for body impressions with a string he pulled across the bed and took pictures. The report came back complaint unfounded. But he did report that I had a non-matching box-spring. L. never looked into this claim. I told her the bed had sunk where I lay and I want another mattress.

So after many phone calls and debates with her; she agreed to give me a warranty replacement. I got the replacement and the mattress is FIRM and hurts my back. It has a tag on it claiming to be a Hutson, but I know it's not. Then, L. claimed that the crossbar in the bed frame was probably making it firm. I took the crossbar out and of course, as I suspected, this made absolutely no difference. I purchased this 1,151 bed set with my charge card and filed a charge dispute with my charge card co.

This has been a nightmare. This is my 3rd and last Beautyrest. I never had problems before and the mattress always wore out and never had to make any claims. What has happened to the quality? Never heard of a bed tek until now, what type of gimmick is that? I feel something should be done with the mattress industry, they do not stand by their warranty and have a good game going with their dealers.
