Cigarest

...

Matt of Richford VT (03/23/08)
Like so many others, I ordered the free thirty-day trial. The first annoyance was that instead of a single $6.95 s/h charge for the trial, I was charged that amount in SEVEN transactions over a three-day period ranging from 25 cents to $2.95. They never did answer my message about that. I didn't notice how much they sent, as it was purchased for my wife. Second annoyance: It was not until a full month had gone by that I saw a charge of $99.85 on my card. This time I called, and after some confusion over how many shipments there had been, I finally understood that this was not a charge for an upcoming shipment, rather for the additional stuff they had sent. They offered to cancel future shipments, and it took some pretty strong insisting on my part for them to issue an RMA for me to return for refund of what I had. I was told I could keep the free thirty-day supply and return the rest, but by this time I was too annoyed to bother with that. I went back to their website, and yes, they do describe what they will do when you place the order for the trial. It's just hidden in the fine print that nobody bothers to read. I don't know if it was there earlier or not.

Other than my annoyance that it cost $15 plus to receive and return a product that was never even opened, the episode has been resolved to my satisfaction.

Shawn of Baraboo WI (03/17/08)
I ordered the 30-day pack for my girlfriend as a surprise, and I was charged $6.97. There was nothing said about that, I would keep getting charged for 5 months after the first forty days if I did not go back on their website and click a box that said I didn't need it anymore. Then I put a $250 check into the bank and found out that the day before $99.99 was taken out. So I called customer service at Cigarest, and they said that the second box was sent and that all they could do was cancel the rest of my shipments for the last four months. I asked if I could return the second box for a refund because I needed the money for bills, the operator responded that a refund was out of the option.

I was overdrafted in my checking account, and I needed that money to pay off bills and gas for two weeks.

We signed up for the free trial offer at $3.95 per person, for both my wife and myself. We were told if we didn't like the product, we could cancel in the first 30 days, which we did; and there would be no additional charges. Big shock: two charges appeared on my bank statement for $99.85 each. It's bad enough being addicted to smokes, but to get monetarily raped by the people trying to help me quit... Thanks for taking the food out of my children's mouths, Cigerest--and tell your friends at corporate tobacco you found another upstanding American citizen to take to the cleaners.

With out my consent , Cigarest withdrew $99.85 from my checking account over two separate transactions.

Leslie of Mesquite TX (03/01/08)
I am trying to quit smoking, and I saw this ad on T that said 30-days free of their product to help quit smoking. I figured they would try to sell me more of the stuff after I received it, but when I got the package, there were 90 days of the pills, gum and a lot of stuff to read instead of the advertised 30-days. Now the 30 days was free, but for the extra 60 days I was charged $198.00. I did not know this until I received my Discover bill about a month later. When I first received the package, I called them and said I did not order 90 days of their product, only the 30 days for free. I was told not to worry about it; since I called all I had to do was return the extra 60 days to them, which I did.

After receiving the bill from DiscoverCard, I called them, and they said not to pay the bill until they investigated it. About a month later, DiscoverCard sent me the bill for the $198. There was nothing I could do but pay it; if I didn't I would have lost the card. What makes it hard is that I live on social security, and it hurt to pay this bill that I didn't make. I would say I was scammed, maybe not for a large amount, but is is large to me. Thanks for listening to me.

Well, I had a hard month or two trying to pay my regular bills after losing this much money.

On 2-2008 I bought the product Cigarrest from a T.V ad that states that you can order a 30-day supply for about $24.99. You order it, and they send you a 90-day supply. I called them to cancel it, and they stated OK; and they told me that I would not be charged anything else (WRONG). I checked my account and found that they did charge me $108.00 for a monthly malignance fee. I called them, and they stated that they could not refund my money, and that I would have to mail the product back to them and the fees would stop. I think this is fraud. I have check the internet about complaints about this company and found that there were quite a few on Consumer complaints and Ripoff.com. I was billed the wrong amount; something was not disclosed clearly or was misrepresented, etc.

They charged my Credit card for more than they stated which is fraud.

Lisa of Garland UT (02/09/08)
They charged me twice for the same product: $70.00 the first time, and the next day they charged me $99.95.

I CANNOT MAKE PAYMENTS ON MY CREDIT CARDS.

Jennie of Sioux Falls, SD (12/10/07)
Cigarest had a commercial that you could get their product free to try out by just paying for shipping. They offer the same deal online at www.cigarest.com.

The product arrived and said if I keep it I will be charged for it on my credit card. It says that I must return all of the product within 10 days or I will be charged.

I had to pay shipping charges to get what was and is advertised as Free. Now they say it is not Free. I do not see how they can get away with this.

Lorna of Las Vegas NV (12/09/07)
I ordered the 30-day Cigarrest program from a television ad around the middle of November,I was to pay only $5.95, the cost of the shipping & handling. My order arrived a few days later.I noticed it was a 90-day supply.I called the very next day & cancelled the automatic shipments. When I asked for a confirmation number for the cancellation, was told I assure you you will not be billed.

Today I noticed a $65. & some cent overdraft in my checking account due to a Cigarrest charge. I did not authorize this. I am disabled and on a very small disability per month, this company is using deceptive practices and lying to customers. Please do something about them, this needs to stop.

I am bipolar & suffer from PTSD also, I have high blood pressure and chronic migraines. I have had a very bad migraine since seeing my bank account overdrawn. I worry month to month about my finances, and this unauthorized withdrawal is stressing me to the point of a migraine. It is taking me a long time to type this out as I have a hard time seeing when I have a migraine. If I cannot get my bank to reverse this charge, I will have to pay a $30.00 overdraft fee on top of the charge, which will be close to $100. Since I only get paid on the third of each month, also figure in a $500 per day late fee on top of that!

Mary of Broken Arrow OK (09/20/07)
I ordered the product in which was going to get me 1 month supply of the product just to pay for the shipping cost, at the ordering time the company asks for your bank account info, I knew thjat I had to cancel my next month order, the funds were taken from my bank account, close to 100.00, I have emailed to ask for refund of the money that was taken, I have not been answered for a while. I never received the product either.
