Karen of Wau WI (05/10/08) I ordered the books, received the newsletter, called to cancel in December, have emailed numerous times, and as of my credit card statement dated May 08, I am still being charged for a bogus newsletter. The latest one sent in April 08 is dated November 2007. This is a complete rip off.
9.95 charges after cancelling in December for Jan Feb Mar Apr May. I believe I am owed 49.75 credit on my credit card for the bad charges after a phone call cancellation in December
Leslie of Haughton LA (05/10/08) I ordered some of their books and got the newsletter which I didn't order. I have been billed for this (9.95) even after requesting cancellation, 3 months in a row.
No consequences yet, except for money I didn't authorize coming out of my account. I am going to my bank to see if they can stop payment on the debits. Is there anything else I can do? Thanks for your help.
Gwynn of Glasford IL (05/08/08) My order for Kevin Trudeau's two Natural Cures books was placed by phone on 02-24-2008 and cancelled by phone on 04-04-2008 . I complained about not receiving the newsletter for almost 6 weeks from the date of order, yet the welcome? letter stated that the 30-day free trial period started from the date of order. How are you supposed to have a 30-day free trial if you dont receive it for 40 days? Shame on you Kevin Trudeau!
The person I spoke with on the phone when I cancelled the order stated that I would be receiving a credit to my account on the next billing cycle, since I did not receive the newsletter in due time. To this day, the credit has not yet been made to my account! The next billing cycle she spoke of is three weeks past due!
ALSO - boy do they try to sell you everything under the sun! And just try to say no! Well, I said no to everything and told the person that I was just plain cheap! He kept on and on about the magazine subscriptions and how I could cancel at any time - WAS I SURE???? OK, just two! So, after receiving that stupid letter about how I was some kind of special person they needed in their secret society - I had a feeling I was in trouble! I cancelled the magazine subscriptions ASAP! Any company that associates with Kevin Trudeau is not getting my business - sorry, that's the ways it got to be until this man is out of business!
Well, anyone else try that number to cancel the subscriptions for the magazines? - it might as well have been in a foreign language! The final question I was asked had to be answered with a yes or no response - yes or no cancel my subscription and and set up the second new offer (a longer subscription. I pushed 0 - not what they wanted me to do! The recording suggested that I might not want to wait as long as it was going to take for a live person to take my call. I chose to wait. In the mean time, they had a survey which asked the question about the automated service. I left the message that they were using customers from being able to cancel their subscriptions! Anyway, the magazines are still coming and I can't seem to find the correct number or they have changed it! GO FIGURE! Anyone have a number to cancel the magazine subscriptions ordered through that service???
So far, I have been charged $9.95 for the monthly newsletter that was supposed to be credited back, but has not been. I will update the site on the magazine subscription charges - since they are still sending the magazines.
Bill of Little Rock AR (05/03/08) It's odd. I read this article a couple of times. It goes on at length to say Trudeau isn't allowed to do infomercials about coral calcium & such, but never does it come out and say his stuff doesn't work. It also goes on to say at the end he's supposed to destroy some customer stories & such, but doesn't say what sort of info he's being required to destroy.
Kathleen of Houston TX (05/02/08) I requested a full refund from withdrawals of 5.95 made monthly from my checking account since 2/2007. Supposedly for a newsletter that I am not nor have I ever been in receipt. They will only refun the last 3 months to my account. Customer Service had the audacity to reprimand me for not catching this monthly reduction in my account balance when it started.
I don't believe they have a legal right to keep funds that have not been authorized in writing. This old you call us in 30 days to cancel is just another way to steal from the consumer. Just enough that those of us whom keep a fairly reasonable running balance in our accounts, just isn't quickly missed. What can I do to get a full refund from these people? How do you get an email to Kevin Trudeau? Thank you for your Assistance.
Miguel of El Paso TX (04/24/08) After reading Natural Cures they Dont Want You to Know About?, More Natural Cures Revealed? and the Weight Loss Cure They Dont Want You to Know About, I lost 46 pounds and feel better than i ever have in my entire life, i support Kevin Trudeau one hundred percent.
And those of you running this website should be ashamed of yourselves for allowing sick people to die, just to make a buck. For now, you can hide behind the FDA and the FTC, but on judgement day, you wont be able to hide behind anybody.
There was and will never be any physical or economic damage from kevin trudeaus books, only a powerful sense of well being and amazing health.
Catherine of Santa Barbara CA (04/24/08) I wanted to respond to some of the comments regarding Kevin Trudeau. The things he is saying are things that have been said for hundreds of years - you complainers want a quick fix. All of what he is saying is true - your body will heal itself. You need to find your own natural products - that's what I did; you don't need to subscribe to his website, nor buy any products.
After you read the entire book, you are supposed to DO IT YOURSELF - but you're lazy. I got my books within a week, I knew what the shipping charges would be; I never felt forced or deceived. Getting rid of toxins and getting your body healthy, takes time. If you can't do it - go back to your medications.
Ana of New York NY (04/23/08) I ordered the Kevin Trudeau Because of the answers he claimed on TV the book contained. However when I got the book it had questions and informed me that for the answers I would need to go to his website where I would need to pay a fee to get the answers to the questions of how to treat things naturally. Felt conned and will never trust him again even thou I am committed to natural cures.I think he is using the word natural and gets to people who are are tired of the medical system but he is also a con man.
Just the price of the useless book but it hurts me to see that people are falling for this guys lyes and when wll meaning people come next time they will suffer for his cons.
Deborah of Washington NJ (04/22/08) I OREDER THE BOOK 2 1/2 YEARS AGO...I PAID TO BE ABLE TO ACC HIS SPECIAL SITE FOR 9.95 AND ALSO I SIGNED UP FOR THE NEWSLETTER FOR 1 YEAR...I DIDN'T LIKE THE NEWSLETTER..I TRIED TO CANCE LIT...I KEPT GETTING THEM...I HAVE SENT EMAILS, LETTERS...NO RESPONSE..I STILL GET HIS LOUSY NEWSLETTERS.... i just recieved one today...the newsletter was dated nov 2007....i don't want this junk...i did not authorize any payments to this man after the inital purchase.....i do not know how to make it stop..
Jessica of Bonney Lake WA (04/14/08) Kevins information on the weightloss cure saved my life. I never have bought any of his products but his information is readily available on the internet. I found out and used oral hcg and lost 50 pounds that I could not lose with any other diet or doctors aide and I also now use threelac and fivelac daily to keep candida from destroying my life and making me have horrid carbohydrate cravings.
I see that so many people are quick to say bad things about Kevin. To me he is a God Send. I would have never heard about these life changing and life saving treatments without his hardwork. Like I said, I have never bought one of his products but he puts his neck on the line to bring us this invaluable information. I cant thank him enough and either can my family. Most of all I sincerley do not trust the fda as far as I can throw them, they are the ones that are money hungry and killing us for it dont be fooled or should I say you are a fool if you belieeve them. Just try hcg with the very low calorie diet, if you are obese like I was you will know that what Kevin has exposed is a life changing truth.
I lost weight, I am healthier, I never spent a penny and Truly Thank Kevin Trudeau for his courage to bring this information to the american public. Thank-You Kevin from the bottom of my heart, you saved my life!!!
Ila of Cheyenne WY (04/07/08) I ordered a weight loss book advertised on TV, with it they sent two FREE books charging $9.95 postage for each of the three books although they were all sent in the same package. That's $29.85 for media postage for three books which obviously cost the company a fraction of that cost.
After the first phone call the clerk assured me he would check and get back with me in 10 minutes. Three hours later I made two more calls and was told I can only sent one book back because the other two were FREE. What do I do with two worthless books that I paid nearly ten dollars each for shipping? This is definitely a sham and should be investigated and stopped by those with the authority to do so.
Ann of Natick MA (04/04/08) Feb 2 I ordered the free books for $19.95 shipping and handling, first red flag. While online they must have asked me about belonging to a Natural cures website for a free 30 day trial. I don't remember checking that box but evidently I did or didn't uncheck is my deduction. So a month goes by, and no books but now my months trial is up so they start charging $9.95 to my account on March 3. Well I noticed about 2 weeks after but I had used my debit card so I thought maybe this charge was not one I had made so I contacted my bank and tell them I didn't authorize nor did I agree to join and pay for some Natural Cures Website. I never joined Natural cures. I had never even gone to that site.
Another month goes by I get documentation from my bank that they are going to shut my card off and I would have to wait for another if it's not a valid charge. Then another $9.95 gets put on there on April 3rd. I CALLED the company for an explanation today April 4 and finally got a person. They say they are now crediting our account. Reading above I feel that I should go ahead and contact my bank to tell them to close my debit card.
$19.95 for shipping and handling for a book they said was free. Two charges to my account for $9.95 each.
Marjorie of Forest VA (03/31/08) In January,'08, I ordered Trudeau's Natural Cures from the above mentioned company. They offered me a free 30 day subscription to their internet site. They explained after 30 days I would be charged $9.95 per month on my credit card. I refused this immediately and stated the only charge that I wanted to appear on my card was the book cost. I received his books. I was totally unimpressed and immediately returned them and told them I wanted the $9.95 charge to my credit card immediately dropped. It has been over 2.5 months and it's still appearing on my credit card. I have repeatedly tried to cancel this over and over to no avail. First, I can't get through to a real person, I have been on hold repeatedly for 45 mins. or more on the 4-5 attempts I have made. I have also attempted emails. I want the charges on my credit card plus interest to be reinstated. This man needs to be put out of business.
A lot of time and money have been lost on a transaction that should have been a simple process.
Joe of Revere MA (03/30/08) Consumers; All you have to do with Trudeau's scams is call your credit card company and do a charge back. Tell them you did not receive the requested service and the credit company will charge back Trudeau and his scammers. Best Wishes.
Bobby of Diboll TX (03/27/08) They keep calling from an unknown number. I have asked them repeatedly to stop. I have asked for a mailing address for the corporate office, but they will not give it. I just want them to stop calling. He should be required to have a corporate address where all legal correspondence can be sent clearly posted on the web.
Rachael was rude to me and told me that I could make 3000 to 4000 dollars per month if I would just take time to listen. If that is true, how come she does not do it? I just want them to stop calling.
Linda of Worthington OH (03/27/08) His book has NO valuable information and I did NOT sign up for his $9.95 newsletter and was charged 4 times before I could finally get it stopped....only by having my VISA credit card company refuse them. No one answers the customer service 800# and you need a user-id to access the site, which I couldn't get. After numerous emails I actually got an email from Kevin Trudeau's customer service that I would be refunded, but, of course, NEVER received a refund. I just wish I would have seen this website before ever ordering from Kevin.
Dairis of Zephyrhills, FL (03/21/08) I remember being very specific and detailed with the representative that answered my call that I was NOT interested in any further marketing offer - just the book.
However, I'm being charged $125 worth of magazine subscriptions on my account. Since I had no idea of the posted charges, I contacted the bank immediately and they found out that these charges originated from a company called TWX. I contacted the company and I asked for a full refund of $74.99 and that's when I was informed of the additional charges on 2 other magazines that I will be charge for, that had not been posted. They also informed that the source of these charges originated when I bought this book.
I also want to return this book due to the nature of all this and to the fact that this book was extremely unhelpful.
Deborah of Norwalk CT (03/17/08) I had the same experience. I ordered yesterday, and when I found out the price for shipping, I called back to cancel. They told me they can't do that and just return it. I am therefore out $29.95 in s&h for 3 books, of which 2 were supposed to be free. Since we are all in agreement with being ripped off, WHAT DO WE DO NOW TO GET OUR MONEY BACK?
Stressed from being ripped off.
Dale of Corpus Christi TX (03/17/08) I called on 1/24/08 to order Kevin Trudeau's books about Natural Cures. I was told it was free--just pay shipping and handling. Well, I did not know shipping and handling was going to be $9.95 each. So I spent $19.90. It is 3/16/08, and I have yet to receive the books. Also, I am being charged $9.95 a month for his website naturalcures.com which I never authorized. They said if I wanted to, I could cancel that at anytime; but how can I can I get on the website member login when I do not have have a user id or a password? How can I get my money back and get them to stop charging me? When I call the 800 # from my bank statement, I am told that I need to call customer service, and then they hang up.
I am out $29.95 and counting they will probably charge me $9.95 for March on the 21st, since I was charged $9.95 on 2-21-08.
Sherri of Evansville IN (03/16/08) I got the Kevin Trudeau Natural Cures Book, and Natural Cures Revealed Book. It is just another rip off. When you read his books, all he is really doing is wanting your to buy all his colon cleansing products--or liver or bladder, etc. And on TV, you see that he offers a money back satisfaction guarantee. This is another rip off. When you receive your books, you find that the shipping and handling charges are NOT refundable. So that is why he 'sells' you the books for FREE and offers you a guarantee, as he doesn't REFUND the $19.95 they charged you to ship you the books. There should be a class action suit against him and his company. He should be forced off the air for trying to rip off sick people.
I lost $19.95 to start. And after I got back on the internet, I found at Ripoff Report that they have many complaints about people getting charged more on their credit cards--like for the $9.95 per month that you haven't ask for, to be a 'member' of his website. And he sells your email address. It's getting to where you just can't trust in anything you see advertised on TV anymore. I can't wait to see what else he will charge to my bank ATM card. From what I read, I am sure it will not end here.
Shayne of Pittsburgh PA (03/12/08) I had ordered the Natural Weight Loss Cures from this company. At the time I ordered, they offered me a free 30-day subscription to their internet site. They explained that after 30 days, I would be charged $9.95 per month on my credit card. I refused this immediately and stated that the only charge I wanted to appear on my card was the cost of the book. Two weeks later I received the book along with some papers with 800#'s, and something told me to hang on to these. Lo and behold,30 days later, charges started appearing on my credit card for this internet access and a newsletter. I have never accessed this internet site nor have I ever received any newsletters. They went ahead and charged this fee to my account when I specifically refused this and told them not to. I have attempted to contact them through e-mail at customersupport@itvcorporate.com and have also attempted contact at the above phone #.
When I called for this cancellation and to demand my money back, I could not access any of the cancellation Phone lines. I have been on hold for as long as 45 min. and I did this just to see if someone was going to take my calls. No one ever did. Yet when I called these #'s and acted like I wanted to order, my calls were answered immediately. When I confronted the sales rep on the other line, I was flatly refused a refund and was told in order to cancel this, I would have to call back and press the appropriate # for cancellation. I explained that I have already done this. Her answer was, "Oh well, you'll just have to keep trying," and she laughed.
I am out several months of charges on my bill along with the interest that has accrued.
Amy of Carlisle IA (03/11/08) Thought I would add my experience to the list. Someone suggested a class action suit and personally I would be willing to give 100% of the money received from trial to any lawyer who can put this man out of business. It is reprehensible to treat consumers in this way and to continue to air his infomercials to rip off more consumers. BTW, anyone wanting to read his books can do so by going to their local library rather than ordering it for themselves, and that is my recommendation if you are considering purchasing any of his books. Most libraries you can access by internet and put the book on hold or be added to the waiting list. It will definitely be faster than ordering in any case.
My husband ordered the 3 books last summer (buy 1 get 2 free deal) and after he got off the phone, he told me the total amount with the s/h charges. Each book was a $9.95 s/h charge and the cost of the book we were buying was $19.95 for a total of $48.80. I told him I wasn't paying that for shipping and to cancel the order. We tried calling right back and cancelling the order, but the customer service person said that she did not have any way to cancel the order in her system and we could just return the books when we received them. The catch was we would be issued a refund for the book but not the shipping and handling. The shipping and handling was the very item which was our main issue to begin with. ($9.95 is an EXTREMELY steep price to pay per book. I know from selling on ebay that I can send a package 3 day priority mail anywhere in the US for $8) Basically, we would be paying more than we would be refunded and have nothing to show for it. That night I sent an email to customer service via their website explaining our desire to cancel the order before any shipping or handling had to occur, but never received any response. I called customer service on the following Monday (the order had been placed on a Friday night) and after an extremely lengthy time on hold I was told they could not cancel my order but to call back when I received the books and they would give me a return number. When I did receive the books, (2 months later) I never was able to get through to customer service. I ended up just sending the package back as refused. I never have been issued a refund of any kind.
Out $48.80.
Babe of Montpelier OH (03/11/08) Is everyone on here mad? Did you know that he sells his books at any book store? I have seen them there. You know you can go in and read them there before you purchase. I have found them very informative. Everyone needs to have an open mind!
Sharon of Red Bud IL (03/10/08) My husband ordered the 2 books. On 2/11/08, $ 9.95 (for a newsletter that he never got) was taken out of our account. I called and was told I could not be reimbursed but that I would be taken off the list. Well, lo and behold, on 3/5/08 another $9.95 was taken out. I called again and was told I would be taken of the list. I told the person I never received a newsletter, and for $9.95 I never would have wanted a newsletter. So my husband called, and he was told that the $9.95 would be put back into the bank account. Here it is 3/10/08, and no $9.95. It's a big time rip off.
I only work part time, my husband is disabled, and I cannot afford to give someone $9.95 for a newsletter that was never received.
Jan of Los Angeles CA (03/10/08) I bought Kevin Trudeau's book Natural Cures...for 25 cents in a used book store. I agree with most of what he says, although some points are arguable: ie. sun gazing or using scientology dianetics. The problems seem to relate more to the people taking the book orders--not the points made in the book.
Margaret of Tulare CA (03/09/08) I ordered the Weight Loss Cure book from an infomercial. When I placed the order I was asked if I wanted to order several other products and I said no to everything, even the free additional books. I was told I would receive an issue of the Natural Cures Newsletter. I was told I could keep receiving monthly issues for only $9.95 per month to which I said no. I have been charged for the newsletter now for several months and when I tried to call to cancel the number states through a recording that there is no longer help through that number and keep calling back because they will give out the new number to call soon.
Well, needless to say that has never happened. I have also tried to cancel through the website but it will not allow you in to cancel. This has been very frustrating. I was trying again to cancel when I saw this page. I hope that something can be done to stop these kind of sites from ripping people off. Fortunately this hasn't caused a financial hardship for myself but I'm sure that isn't the case for many other people. And they have also given my telephone number out to other companies because I now get calls from other people trying to sell their products.
It is just very frustrating to pay $9.95 for something I never ordered and don't even want.
Larry of Twin Falls ID (03/09/08) I ordered these books on 1/08/08 and was charged $39.85 for two free books (Natural Cures: They don't want you to know about and More Natural Cures Revealed) and $19.95 for The Weight Loss Cure Book plus a ground shipping charge of $19.90. Said it would take 2-3 weeks to receive the order and it's been over two months and still have not received it. Wish I had read the reports on this guy before I ordered this and does not sound like I will be getting any information that will help me if I do get them! Just don't wake up in the morning at 3 A.M and do something stupid like I did and order from this Joker. Tried to call the number that took the money out of my account today and of course, they didn't answer. Will try again tomorrow. I will be glad to join any suits!
Amanda of Benedict MN (03/08/08) I did some research before getting suckered into buying this book and losing money like many people have. Thank God! I think you guys who actually received the book should create a web page and GIVE AWAY the information he has in his book. It would save a lot of people the hassle, and it would be a pain in KT's back pocket! Beat him at his own game!
Allan of Bronx NY (03/05/08) I have no Complaints and the Public should know it takes a few days to get the books. THE ADVICE IS GOOD ADVICE.
I suffered the side affects of feeling better. My memory is sharper. I haven't been sick in months. I feel great and I'm getting stronger and losing weight.
Beverly of Hazel Park, MI (03/04/08) I ordered Debt Cures on Feb 9 and received it last week. When I opened it I was shocked to see 2 books, but only charged for one. However, I almost flipped when I saw the S&H charge. The book cost $29.95, S&H was $23.90, a total of $53.85.
I took it to the post office to see what their rate was, and was shocked. Media mail, for both books,$2.81; Priority Mail, $10.55 for both.
I called the 888 number and the girl told me that I ordered two books, one was free but I paid for the S&H for 2 books. I said, "No, I didn't order two. What would I want two books for?" She went on to tell me that I did order two, she even gave me the time, and said maybe it was for a family or friend. I told her I know what I ordered and I wouldn't have ordered two.
I recall I kept telling the man I was speaking to that I only wanted the book and not to try to sell me anything else. Of course he didn't listen. He mentioned a monthly newsletter for $9.95. I thought that was outrageous and I said, "NO!" to everything he mentioned. I also thought the S&H was high for one, I sure didn't want to pay double.
I think this is a scam. I read the book in 2 nights and it was a rip off. Kevin repeated himself over and over. He didn't tell me anything I didn't already know.
They should write a book called, "What Kevin Trudeau Doesn't Want You To Know Before You Buy His Books".
Donald of Pleasant Lake MI (03/04/08) I called the 800 # on the screen to order "Debt Cures They Don't Want You to Know About" for $29.95. After she got my bank debit card information, the operator insisted I order the upgraded package; and when I hesitated and she kept going, I told her to just cancel the order. She said the charge already went through, and I would receive the package in 3 to 5 weeks. When the charge showed up on my account it was for $140.90. She also told me as the television presentation by Kevin Tredeau, that it was returnable within 30 days of receipt. I don't even find an address or customer service number in his web ads.
The pitch is so fast, and she kept adding things. I told her to stop twice. I expected about $40.00 on my card for the order I placed. I wound up with the $140.90 and wonder what else will be charged since the newsletter was added to the package as well as the upgrade which I refused.
At this point I am out $140.90, and it's money I can't afford to lose. From my experience so far, I am concerned about making the return for a refund; and since receipt is to be in 3 to 5 weeks, I expect they will say I didn't return it timely. This is a misleading and fraudulent transaction that should be refundable before shipment.
Lee of Portland OR (03/03/08) I am so sorry to hear about these people who have lost their money to this man. I was looking for information, to see if this was a good thing to get. I was planning to get one of his many books. I did find this, though, and I want to share this with everybody who maybe thinking of doing the same. It is an excerpt of the TV show 20/20 about this guy. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YN5ihrECJms. Copy and paste the link into your browser and watch. It is shocking and disturbing. Cheers.
William of Streetman TX (03/02/08) I saw on TV Kevin Trudeau's interview about natural cures for illness. Books are free--just pay for shipping. These books are NATURAL CURES, MORE NATURAL CURES, AND WEIGHT LOSS CURES. On Feb. 3, 2008, I called the number on the screen, gave them my debt card number and was charged $44.80 for shipping. However, I have not received any books.
Loss of $44.80.
Brenda of Jacobstown NJ (02/27/08) On JAN 30, 2008, I ordered via TV, buy one book get two free, one book being $14.95 and $30 shipping and handling (non refundable). Later that day JAN 30 2008, I decided I didn't want to pay $30 S & H for 2 free books, so I called to cancel. I was told that it was TOO SOON to cancel so please call back in 24-48 hours. JAN 31 2008, I called back and was told it was TOO LATE to cancel since the order had already gone to fulfillment. On FEB 1 a charge of $44.80 was added to my charge card. I called today, FEB 27, to ask where were the books that they got paid for on FEB 1. I was told that they were on back order because the demand was so high. I again asked that they be cancelled, and a credit issued, and was told that the order could not be cancelled, I would have to wait until they were received and then returned them, with no credit for the S&H of $30. It has cost me a lot of my professional time dealing with the credit card company and Natural Cures via mail and phone and internet since JAN 30, not to mention the stress of it all, which I don't need. Surely this should not be allowed to happen.
Extreme aggravation causing hypertension etc., etc.,
Charlotte of Fort Walton Beach FL (02/24/08) I ordered the three books from Kevin Trudeau in January. I have not received them. I did receive some weird Secret society letter at some point, but I'm being charged $9.95 every month for a newsletter I was told I could cancel. I've called to cancel and all I get is a recording asking for my customer I.D. number. I never received a receipt for the books or the books! How could I have a customer I.D. number? After reading all these complaints, I am going to my bank and getting a new debit card with a different number. I can't afford this as a single mother!
Terry of Park Hills MO (02/24/08) A couple of weeks ago, my wife Linda saw an ad on TV for a book called Debt Cures by Kevin Trudeau. She ordered a couple of the books for our kids. The cost was supposed to be around $70.00. After she thought about it, the very next day she called and canceled the order. We thought no more about it. Last week, while we were away, we received our credit card bill in the mail and there was a box from Debt Cures on the porch. We opened the mail first and the credit card bill showed Debt Cures charged our credit card $197.00. Upon seeing that, we didn't open the box. Linda called Debt Cures and the woman said there was no record of the order being canceled and no explanation for the $197.00 charge. She told Linda it would cost her $47.50 if she sent the box back. I told Linda we aren't going to pay $47.50 for something that we had already canceled. I told LInda to take it to the Post Office and refuse the shipment since we hadn't opened it. She did that the next day. The Post Office returned the box to Debt Cures. This Saturday, the box was returned to us again. We'll have to figure out what to do next. He has already had many complaints filed about him and he is still in business. How is this possible?
Our credit card was charged $197.00 for something we had canceled the day after the order was placed.
Patty of Hermiston OR (02/24/08) I ordered the Natural Cures book by Kevin Trudeau off the TV commercial program around December 24, 2007. My debit card was charged $44.80 on December 24, 2007. I have never received the books. On January 23, 2008 my debit card was charged another $9.95 for website access that I had thought started when I received the information to use the website. I never received that information. I contacted customer support about the $9.95 charge. They replied on January 24th that they would cancel the subscription and refund the $9.95. Also that my books would be sent out within the next few days. I have atill not received the books.
$44.80 debited from my account on December 24, 2007 and $9.95 debited from my account on January 23, 2008. Total: $54.75.
Laverne of Waukegan IL (02/23/08) Several months ago I ordered books from an offer on TV by Kevin Trudeau. I returned these books because it was quite apparent the books were a sham. When I ordered these books, it was with the understanding I could receive a full refund. When I called I was told they had not received them, and they would further investigate the matter and get back to me. Right after this, I started having a charge of $9.95 appear on my credit card from a source unknown to me. When I was finally able to get someone at the phone number listed with this charge, I was told that this was also an offer from Kevin Trudeau and that I must have authorized it, which I can assure you I did not.
I told them to cancel this immediately and to credit my credit card. I also asked them why I had never received my refund from the books and was told that was a different branch's PROBLEM! They said they would cancel the newsletter. They didn't, and I was finally forced to contact my credit card and inform them these charges were never authorized by me. They said they would contact the company--since now when I call they just hang up on me.
I have lost a couple hundred dollars with unauthorized charges.
Deborah of Odessa MO (02/23/08) I ordered Kevin Trudeau's book, Debt Cures, before searching his credibility on the web. I believe I am another victim. The same things happened to me: the Customer Service rep just kept on pressuring me to purchase other items, such has a newsletter, magazine subscriptions and other items. I kept telling her"no"--that I just wanted the book. And I have paid extra to receive the book in 3 to 4 days. It's been 5 days, and I haven't received the book yet.
I didn't have the money for the book to begin with. And now I don't have the product. I wonder if the book has helped anyone, anyway. I'm not sure if my credit card was charged any additional fees, which I will investigate.
Victoria of Elkton, MD (02/21/08) I paid $44 in January for 3 of his books and have NOT received any books so far! HELP!
Gergana of Springfield, MO (02/18/08) I was sitting in front of the TV just this weekend, and somehow ended up watching Kevin Trudeau showing his books. He got my attention with things that are true and that I have researched. I decided to purchase the books that were suppose to be free of charge, only paying handling and shipping.
Right after the order the lady started offering me more and more things. I told her I didn`t need anything else, I was interested only in the 2 books.
Two days later I received a phone call, on the phone number I left when purchasing the book, from a company called Quality Resources. They were offering me a $40 free gas voucher and some other things for $1.00 using my credit card number. They knew my card number, my name, my cell phone number and my address!
When I asked them where they have this information, which is not suppose to be in their possession, the man left a phone number and tried to hang up as quick as possible. After a short search online I found that this same company is some how connected to Kevin Treadau and the purchase of the books.
I will cancel the newsletters and maybe stop the charges. I am also planning on changing my card number and contacting the Federal Trade Commission.
I don`t know if it is Kevin that is doing all this, the tv show, or maybe the companies that do the transactions for him. I don`t know, but I know one thing, it is a scam and I didn`t expect such a thing.
Madeline of Mantua UT (02/18/08) I just wanted to say thanks for the heads-up on this guy. I've had some health problems and have been up late at night recently. It was the first time I heard of this joker. But the health and debt help sounded SO plausible and convincing, I ALMOST bought into it.
However, I'd like to offer some help to others who might have been taken, or to avoid it in the future. First of all, NEVER NEVER NEVER purchase anything like this with a debit card. There is often little, if any, way to get your money back, and scammers then have access to your bank accounts. If you MUST make a purchase, use your credit card. If a charge is on there you did not authorize, contact your credit card company directly (both by phone AND mail...instructions are usually on the back of your statement) and report a fraudulent charge. The company should remove/suspend the charge(s) pending an investigation. Finally, contact your state's Division of Consumer Protection to file a complaint. (If you don't know how to find them, Google or go to www.(your state).gov and then use the search engine. It's often in the Department of Commerce. Many states have laws against this type of thing.) Also, if you have a media consumer reporter in your area, contact him/her, too. With enough bad publicity, perhaps Kevin Trudeau (and those like him) will shrink back into the woodwork. Finally, remember: If it sounds too good to be true, it IS! Be Cautious, Be wise, Check it Out FIRST! Good luck to you all, and thanks for helping me stay AWAY from another scam artist!
Trisha of Taylor MI (02/17/08) Natural Cures book does not provide that much information that Mr. Trudeau claims it does. After reading these complaints, I am sorry I have purchased his books. Alliance Publishing are the ones who publish his books. They are involved since they publish his books.
Lisa of Coronado, CA (02/16/08) I ordered a few Kevin's books, most recently Natural Cures and Weight Loss books. I got a call from a Kimberly at "Today's Better Health" wondering what I thought of Kevin's weight loss book. I told her and we began to have a conversation about cleansing products and vitamins. She offered me a special deal on purchasing products since I was such a loyal customer and charged my credit card $230.
I never received any products. I have called the 888 # several times and left messages since you always get a recording. No one ever calls me back. I left messages for Kimberly and she calls back and leaves me a message that she cannot figure out what has happened.
Jean of Lemon Grove CA (02/15/08) I, like an idiot, was mesmerized by the eloquent speech(es) given by Kevin Trudeau re: Natural Cures They don't want you to know about. What a joke. If you were lucky enough to receive this book or books, you, of course, had to pay to go online to the website for the references needed for each cure. This man is a charlatan and very dangerous, financially and physically. I sent the books back after speaking with a customer service representative, who assured me that I would receive a full refund (sans shipping). I have never been given a refund. I would like a class action attorney to take this case on, as I think there is more than substantial evidence that this is a consumer scam; and the public should be protected and compensated for these actions by Trudeau. If there are any attorneys who would like to take this case, all you need are the testimonies of all the people on this website.
I have been charged over limit fees. This and all the other fees charged to my credit card has wrecked my credit. I am having a great deal of stress resulting from this. I tried to send the items back in good faith, and I cannot stop this monster from trying to get more and more money from me. It is absolutely ridiculous that this man can continue to destroy so many lives and with no penalties whatsoever!
Susan of Owensboro KY (02/13/08) I purchased 2 books from this Kevin Tradeau, Weight loss cures and Debt Cures. Weight loss cures suggests illegal HGH injections to loose weight. His protocol on this is in no way legal.
Donna of Grove City OH (02/11/08) I ordered two books last summer, 2007, and received them but paid $20 shipping. I just received a very weird 6 page letter about some Secret Society Manuscript from Trudeau. I wish I could print the letter for you. The letter was signed by Kirsten Hart. It's a way to get more of my money but they can forget that.
Margaret of Shelbyville TN (02/11/08) I ordered a book, The Weight Loss Cure, by Kevin Trudeau from his infomercial over the phone in October '07. I also subscribed to the newsletter with the understanding that I could cancel within 30 days with no charge attached. I did receive the book and one newsletter dated July '07.
I canceled over the phone within the allotted time in Nov. '07; it is now Feb. '08, and I am still being charged $9.95 every month for a newsletter that I do not receive. This is a small amount, but when you don't make much money it becomes huge when you're struggling to keep up with the bills. I cannot afford it.
Michele of Fountain Hills AZ (02/08/08) I have been battling since October to get my membership canceled. I originally canceled it 3 days after signing up--well within the 30-day cancellation period. Not only are they charging my account, they are double billing me every month. I can't get anyone to stop this despite having logged nearly 25 phone calls, 36 emails and 17 disputes with my credit card company, Discover Card! This is INSANE.
This is ridiculous. I think Kevin Trudeau has some good info, but this business practice is disgusting, wrong, immoral and just plain frustrating! The site should be shut down for fraud.
Chuck of Franklin NC (02/05/08) In July 2007 I ordered 3 books from a TV Commerical, Natural Cures, When I placed my order I was persuaded to receive a monthly news letter at $9.95 per month with the provision that I could cancel at any time. Before the 30 days was up, I called numerous times trying to reach someone to cancel the newsletter. Finally, I reached someone who stated that it would be canceled. I also sent an email on August 15, 2007, which I have a copy of, to cancel the newsletter. I did receive one newsletter but I have not received any more since I canceled it in August 2007, however the Company keeps billing my bank each and every month. I WANT THIS STOPPED, HOW DO WE RESOLVE THIS RIP OFF PROBLEM?
William of Springerville AZ (02/05/08) They charged me $9.95 a month for the last 3 months for their natural cures newsletter. I finally received my first newsletter a few weeks ago and the info in this paper is no where near what the lady said it was, not to mention that it is already february and the issue I received was for september.
My credit card was billed for a newsletter that was never delivered until recently so I was charged for a service that was not rendered.
A of Silver Spring MD (02/04/08) I placed an order for DebtCures book on Dec. 17, 2007. I called immediately after placing the order and confirmed that I did not want the newsletter. I told the representative I spoke with that I would cancel my order if I were charged for the Newsletter. I was told that I would receive the book and the Newsletter as I heard in the infomercial and that I would only be charged for the price of the book and the shipping & handling and no question was asked. However, on Jan. 23, 2008 there was a charge of $9.95 on my visa statement. I think Mr. Kevin forgot that he mentioned in his book that people ought to read their billing statements for hidden charges.
I called DebtCures customer service line and was about to find out about the customer service Mr. Kevin has promised his customers. I spoke with Brandon from customer service. I explained to Brandon that I did not order the newsletter and that Kevin offered it for free for those who placed an order that night of Dec. 17, 2007. I also explained to Brandon again that when I placed the order on the web, I immediately called and confirmed that I did not want to be charged for the newsletter and that I was told that I would not be charged any extra than the price of the book and the shipping & handling. I thought that Brandon would be a service oriented representative, but he was nothing but a jerk. I demanded that the $9.95 charge would be immediately credited to my Visa, but got nothing.
Ennis of Louisville KY (02/01/08) I tried to cancel a newsletter and instead was entered for another book offer. I cant get hold of anyone to straighten this out.
I cannot afford to be billed for unnecessary book or newsletters.
Bonnie of Coventry RI (01/28/08) I ordered Kevin Trudeau's Natural Cure. I got the book; it pretty much tells you that everything you do and eat is harmful. I also have been charged $9.95 for something I never authorized. The Better Business Bureau will be contacted. I tried to get a refund twice now and have yet to receive one.
Keith of Corona CA (01/27/08) 10 weeks have passed. I have not gotten my book and there is no one to call. There was an ATM withdrawal to cover cost of shipping. NOW WHAT?
Mimi of Gainesville GA (01/25/08) I called to order the two free books re: 'cures they don't want you to know'. Viewers were told they had to pay only postage, about 20 dollars. The phone rep pushed the newsletter, I declined, and began to talk very rapidly about several other offers. These offers came one after the other - the guy never shut up! I replied I wanted only the two books and had to hang up because I was late for a meeting. I have yet to receive the books. Trudeau and his dumb blond British co-hostesses should be banned from sales of any kind. What an outrageously cruel thing to do to the hopelessly ill.
My next letters will be to my congressman and the FTC.
Beth of Willow Springs NC (01/25/08) I bought this jerk's book, paid extra to have it arrive in 3-4 days. They took my money, I have no book. I am getting calls congratulating me for things I've won due to this purchase. I'm ANGRY. I knew better in the pit of my stomach but I ordered it anyway.
I'm out $60.00
Herbert of Sumter SC (01/22/08) I have done one of the stupid things when I purchased one Kevin Trudeau's book without doing my homework first. I only purchased a book a few days ago but I have already being to receive numerous phone calls from people they have sold my information to. I feel like I have been violated in this and I will try to seek vindication for this. I will start there and will not stop until something is done.
Sebert of Bridgeton NC (01/21/08) My wife and I are disabled--diabetic, along with a long list of other severe health problems. We saw Kevin Trudeau's advertisement for books on T.V. a few months ago. I sent a money order in the amount of about $40.00 for 3 books approx. 4 months ago. Then I ordered another book by money order in the amount of about $30.00 about 1 month ago. I haven't seen any of the books that I have ordered. I've tried to call all of the numbers that we were given, but they all turned out to be worthless numbers! We do not have extra money to throw away like this and do not deserve to be treated the way we have. No one does, for that matter!
I just want our money returned back to us! It's only fair. This has really taught us a valuable lesson. I hope you can help us. Thank you for your time. I don't have any of the personal information about Kevin Trudeau that is asked for, as I was unable to get it. Please contact me as soon as possible. Thank you.
We are in bad health and have limited income monthly. This has really hurt us finantially!! It has been so stressful for my wife and I worrinf about this. Please help us get something done and get our money returned to us!!
Betty of Lockhart TX (01/21/08) I ordered 2 of Kevin Trudeau's books over a year ago. I did not sign up for the newsletter. The past year has not been a good one for me--in and out of hospital and not very well. When I finally got around to reviewing my bank statements, I noticed a recurring bill for $9.95. Calling, I found out I have been billed every month for a newsletter I did not subscribe to and even worse--never received a single issue. This is not a lot of money to some people, but to an elderly woman trying to survive on social security $120 is quite a lot.
I feel I should be reimbursed for this money for which I have been illegally charged, but I have no idea where or to whom to turn. The phone number on the bank statement said they can only cancel it, and I am just out all that money. Just makes me physically sick.
Carrie of Travelers Rest SC (01/20/08) I ordered a book from the infomercial, and returned it because it was not what it claimed to be. I have not gotten a refund. I still get an unwanted newsletter and my AX is charged every month. I cannot find a phone # or account # to get this stopped.
I have to claim unauthorized charges every month without success. I still get a newsletter I do not want. I am paying for something I have not ordered and do not want. This is money I do not have to spare. This has been going on for about two years or more.
H of Montreal OTHER (01/20/08) I have no complaint to make, only praise for the hundreds of people who took the time to post their experiences on this website. I saw Kevin's infomercial and was on the verge of calling the toll-FREE number for the FREE books. Fortunately, my prudent nature made me do an internet check on Kevin's credibility and I stumbled on to many sites and reviews like this one. I'm sorry for everyone who got scammed. Thank you again for talking about your misadventures. You have saved others from the same mistake.
John of Bridgewater NJ (01/19/08) I ordered the Natural Cures newsletter which was billed monthly to my charge card. I wanted to cancel the subscription, and the only way to do it was by email. Tried several times with no responses. Each month I had to dispute the bill. Kevin Trudeau should be banned from doing business and hit with a hefty fine.
Judith of Stewartstown NH (01/14/08) I ordered an herb book, and it was a big mistake! He has stolen money from my bank account using my debit card number--and no book has come. Although you can't reach him, his affiliates give your card # out and call constantly. He has some kind of a newsletter that is charged to your card, also. Never did see it but got taken for that, too. My bank replaced my stolen money, and hopefully the government will step in soon and put this criminal where he belongs. He has given my email to numerous, filthy scammers.
Anyone making a mistake and not checking this jerk out before ordering: you need to turn in your card and get a new one. This guy should be in prison, and I can't figure out why he isn't!
Tamela of Olathe KS (01/14/08) I sent the book back, and they said that they never received it. I was still charged for the book and have not gotten any money back. AMEX did an investigation and still could not get my money back. CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT! I will take part, just let me know how.
$40.00 lost in buying and sending book back. No refund for either.
Frances of Morrilton AR (01/14/08) This man sells a book and without our knowing he charges an extra $9.95 each month on your card for what? I don`t know. And still he is getting by with it. I never gave them consent to keep my card number on file. Needless to say, I thought the master card had it resolved, but, nope, here is another chg for $9.95.
Kay of Bella Vista CA (01/13/08) I saw Kevin on TV talking about his book on The Weight Loss Cure. The way he was talking it sounded like he was on the up and up. My boyfriend and I are wanting to lose a lot of weight and hearing the way he was talking, I went ahead and ordered the book. Over two months later we get a book and it wasn't the book we order nor did I want it. In fact, I stated several times to the lady I was talking to, that I did not want any thing other then the weigtht loss book, period. Along with the book I received a membership and a bill for $139.95 for some "The Secert Society." They claim I agreed to join, where in fact, I received another one of the letters telling me to send them $139.95 by January 11, 2008. They said I would never hear from them after the first time, but I received two other letters since. I sent the book back on 12/03/07 to the address on the envelope it came in and sent the Secert Society junk back in it. I do not know who to talk to to get my money back or my credit card to credit it back.
Jouett of Jacksonville FL (01/12/08) I called to order get the 2 free books and was to pay only the shipping and handling. I ordered the weight loss cure book for 50% off for $14.95. I spoke to Diane who kept trying to sell me other stuff. I told her NO several times. She took my info and told me I had to pay $44.80 and that she could not cancel my order. I had to call another number (800 240 3417) to cancel, but they are only open M-F 9am-5pm. I told her it was wrong to scam people and that she needs to be clear to people. She was very calm and kept telling me she could do nothing. I informed her that there must be something since she did not tell me the truth. (She had said $9.95 for shipping but did not tell me it was for both books, and then ordered me another weight loss book when I told her from the beginning I did not want anything and needed her to cancel my order.) She said the main office is out of Boston and could not be reached until Monday. Then she told me she could put me on the abandon list, but that she could not guarantee anything.
This put an economic hardship on me. I am unemployed and have a disabled spouse who does not receive anything from ssi.
Anne of Lumberton TX (01/08/08) On Jan.5, 2008 I viewed the TV info-mercial on ITV on Natural Cures. I was sucked into the idea that this information could be beneficial and I ordered 3 different titles from this author. Minutes after I completed this order (having to refuse the many extras that they offer with this so-called great deal) I realized that I was the victim of deceit and a professional scam. Mr. Trudeau explains that he can offer his books ABSOLUTELY FREE and only charge a shipping/handling fee of $9.95 for each book because he owns the publishing company. He sites several stores such as, Walmart, Walden Books and Barnes & Nobel, selling his books for over $20 and what a great savings you will enjoy by ordering his FREE books. Well, let me inform you that this is an outright lie! I priced the first 2 editions of Natural Cures and More Natural Cures at Walmart for $7.67 for paperback and $13.13 for other hard backs and I would not be waiting for 6-8 weeks for delivery as informed at the time of my order from ITV.
I called customer service to cancel my order but was told that was not possible. One cannot demand money back for something that was given for FREE. Shipping/handling charges are never refunded. So I asked if these books were shipped seperately. No. They will come together. I have paid $9.95 times 3 for ONE package plus the $14.95 for the Weight Loss book. My credit card was immediately charged for $44.80 total price.A fter reading the other complaints about Kevin Trudeau's business, I don't expect to see these books delivered at all. Offer books for FREE, then charge more than the cover price for shipping, and no one can request a refund for merchandise that was theoretically FREE! A lesson well learned. Please DO NOT ORDER ANYTHING this man has to sell and do not bother to read his bogus information and stop watching channels that carry his infomercials. You will lose your money, your time and your rights as a consumer to return unused merchandise.
Mary of Maryville TN (01/08/08) I called after listening to an infomercial featuring Kevin Trudeau and ordered his two books on Natural Cures. I tried to cancel the website membership and newsletter through the number that they gave me (1-800-240-3417); however, cannot get to anyone to cancel. They want your customer I.D. number. No such number was given to me. Called the order number again and told the man that I spoke to about this scam. He gave me an email address (cancel@naturalcures.com) to cancel. Told me that he had never had this kind of call before. Corrected himself to say that he had never had a call like this back to back.
I have cancelled my credit card to ensure no more charges.
Shirl of Fredericksburg VA (01/08/08) Like an idiot, I ordered the book. When I ordered it, I turned down all the other sales pitches flat. I then started receiving calls to order the monthly newsletter, which I refused. Without my consent, as of the date that I ordered the book, they started charging my credit card $9.95 monthly. When I called the first month to find out what the charge was for, she said I had ordered the newsletter. I told her I did NOT order it, and she told me they would credit my money back. Four months later, I am still being charged $9.95 a month, no credits, no newsletter, no nothing. After several phone calls and no results, I have been forced to cancel my credit card to stop this. Don't order anything from Trudeau.
Julie of Ooltewah TN (01/06/08) On 9-28-07 I called to order the books Natural Cure. The books were free but it cost me $37.00 shipping and handling. I never got the books. I called on 11-20-07and I was told that it had just been shipped. I never got the books so I made another call on 1-6-08 and the number is not a working number. I can't find another number.
Marie of Eau Claire WI (01/02/08) I sent his book back two months ago and never received a refund! After I finally found a number for customer service, which I called a few times, they told me the same thing--that it would be refunded--but I haven't seen one yet! I'm also out $29.99!
Christine of Debary FL (12/30/07) I'm overweight, have a thyroid problem, and am severely in debt. I first saw Kevin's infomercial about his weight loss cure a month or so ago, and wanted to jump right on that and order it. Problem was, I was so low in my account, I couldn't afford to order the book without overdrawing my account. I waited, hoping that my circumstances would get better (find a job, etc.), and then I'd buy it as soon as I could afford to. I have a job now, and I just saw another infomercial this morning about the Debt cures deal. It seemed too good to be true that Kevin could cure my weight problem AND my debt problem, so I Googled him. I saw his book listed for the natural cure as well, and figured this guy's got to be scamming the public with all these different books.
Then I started reading each of the complaints that concerned people have posted on this site. It's distressing to me that so many have lost money, and are continuing to lose money each and every month, and the comments date back as far as 4 years! I'm so glad that I didn't order anything from this guy. When he talked about the ability to get thousands of dollars from the government practically overnight, to pay bills, start a business, etc., that's blatantly untrue. I just want to say THANKS to all those that took the time to post your experiences. It's helpful to others who may decide to buy any of Kevin's books. I know I won't be buying anything of his.
Jill of North Tonawanda NY (12/27/07) We ordered the Natural Cures book off the infomercial, our account was charged $44.80 on Nov.8 2007. It is now Dec 27, 2007 and we have not yet gotten the book. The phone number I call states that the phone system is being upgraded and to call at a later date. This is the only phone number I have and we can't get a hold of anyone to straighten this out. I want my money back!
Robert of Spokane WA (12/26/07) I ordered the two book offer for $19.95 or so, plus shipping. When I placed the order on the phone I told the operator I did not want the newsletter, just the books. Ten months later, my account--my special internet account-- was overdrawn because Natural Cures had unknowingly billed me $5.95 a month since February. I called them and complained. They said as a courtesy they would refund the last two months' billing.
That still has not happened. Now I am really mad and am planning to call them back and tell them I want a full refund, period! This man (and his organization) is a thief. This activity should be considered credit card fraud. I realize I am only one of a very many people who have been burned by this man's advertising.
Chip of Tacoma WA (12/26/07) I purchased a Real Estate book online for $24.95, and in the conversation they offered me many other upgrades. I continued to say no, I just wanted the book. I received the book and was billed the $24.95. I later noticed a $29.95 charge from ITV Natural cures. I had no idea what that was, so I called the 800 number that was on my bank statement and after about 15 minutes of pushing buttons and being on hold I hung up. I later received a call from someone in regards to the Real Estate book, and if I needed to speak with any of the staff about Real Estate. I informed them I wasn't interested in any of their services and would read the book, but that was all.
I received another charge for $29.95 the following month and again called the 800 number. This time I stayed on the phone for at least 30 minutes and spoke with someone that informed me I had agreed to a 14-day trial of some foreclosure pamphlet that I had access to online. I told him I didn't agree and wanted my money back. I didn't use any pamphlet and don't recall receiving any info as to how to access it online. I was told they would send my complaint to a supervisor and they would call me back. I got a call back from someone claiming to be a supervisor who said they reviewed my phone call and I definitely agreed to this 14 day trial--and I would not get any refund.
I have been charged $29.95 X 2 for something I didn't order or use. It isn't like they made something special just for me and I wasted it. They claim I had access to a service that I obviously never accessed, and I should be entitled to my money back. I never authorized them to take this from my account.
Kathy of Yakima WA (12/20/07) I purchased The Weight Loss Cure. I wish I had been warned about all the things involved that are quite pricey-- and the diet change to "organic". I would not have spent the $24.95. I contacted them for a refund and was offered $7.50 if I would keep it and $14.95 if I will pay for the shipping and send it back. I think the infomercial was misleading. I would not buy anything again from this individual. This was deceptive advertising.
I am out $24.95 for something I will never use.
Chung-Erh of Jersey NJ (12/20/07) Kevin Trudeau books were returned on 9/14/07 at 1:12 pm by UPS, unopened. They were accepted and signed for the return by Rivas (Kevin Trudeau). They returned the amount of $109.70 but then they charged me again $109.70 through Washington Mutual. (I already closed my Debit Card, but still they were able to access my checking account.)
Economic damage of $109.70
Michelle of Fort Carson CO (12/17/07) I just wanted to say thank you to all the people that have placed your complaints online. Trudeau had me sold tonight on his new book, Debt Cures, and something told me to google him. When I did and found that all of his titles are the same, only changing the first word, I thought it was odd and decided to investigate further. After reading on another site that HE has had to pay fines to the federal government I will NOT be purchasing any of his products. The only thing I can say is I'm sorry all of you had to go through something like this but you posting your experience on a website has given me the information I needed to not be put in the same place. So, again, I thank you.
Tonight he was on one of the home shopping channels. I don't even know how my TV was put on that channel but there he was. I guess if someone really feels the need to purchase a book of his, even just to see what he has to say, do not place any order with any company or website. Find it at a bookstore. I found it very interesting tonight that his closing statement was about when you called to order to make sure you asked the operator about his FREE monthly news letter because that was the newest information and it was very important.
My husband is military and I would have ordered tonight on my debit card and it would have been something that hurt us every month when all we are looking to do is get out of debt.
Debi of Dover PA (12/16/07) I saw a commercial for Kevin Trudeau's Natural Cures book. It also offered two books for free. The cost was $14.95 plus shipping. My credit card was charged $44.00. That was the first surprise. The second, and worst surprise, was that I NEVER GOT ANY BOOKS! NOT ONE! Every time that I called the phone number supplied on my credit card, they told me that one of the books was on back order; and that they would be shipped once the book was available. That was in August. I still have not received any books and I am out $44.00.
I was charged $44.00. I didn't dispute this on my credit card, because I thought that I was going to receive the books. However, after 60 days and numerous calls to Itv, it was too late to dispute the charge. So, no money back for me.
Yonge of Vancouver WA (12/14/07) Like so many people here I ordered the two Kevin Trudeau books (Natural Cures and More Natural Cures) for 19.99, but to my surprise ITV charged me $9.95 on my Visa for a monthly automatic newsletter. I promptly called ITV (1800 280 3586), and they said they would credit my Visa, but next month they charged me another $9.95 again. I called them and recorded the entire conversation that they had already credited my two charges but VISA has no record of it!
DO THE FOLLOWING: CALL your VISA, MASTERCARD, ETC. AND FILE A DISPUTE. THE MORE DISPUTES, ITV WILL BE BANNED.
I AM FRUSTRATED AND TOTALLY UPSET THAT ITV TRUDEAU IS ALLOWED TO DO THESE DECEPTIVE PRACTICES.
Miles of Philadelphia PA (12/14/07) I googled KEVIN TRUDEAU IS A CREEP and this site popped up. I only Googled that because that my immediate feeling after seeing his new infomercial for DEBT CURES...LOL...the audacity. I actually wanted to believe he had some sincerity with the first one, NATURAL CURES. I always wanted to order it, but I found that my mother had it at the house. I started to read it; he took a lot of jabs at the FDA and medical industry that I thought was interesting, but I never read far enough to get to any CURES. Now people are saying that they aren't even offered in the BOOK. Now on his new book, DEBT CURES, he is taking fire at the BANKING SYSTEM. Some banks may have shady practices, but he is playing off of some super secret angle again.
I'll be sure to make sure my mother checks to see if she is being billed for anything else.
Mary of Arleta CA (12/13/07) I bought a book by Kevin Trudeau and they sent free a CD. Then they charged my Visa for 12 months of $71.40 for the periodicals. This was in Oct 2005. I accepted for the first 12 months. Then on Oct, 2006, they charged my visa $71.40 again. I called them and they promised to credit my visa, but they never did. It happened again in Oct. 2007, a charge of $71.40. I called one more time they promised the credit again. As I am waiting for the credit on my visa I got charged $19.00 for late charge. Now the Natural Cures owes Me $142.80 plus the late charge. Thanks.
Robin of Hilton Head Island SC (12/12/07) I bought the book from Sam's Club, did the vegetarian version of his weight loss cure, and it worked very well and I'm delighted! I lost 19 lbs from November 12, 2007 through today, Dec 12, 2007--the last 2 weeks on the Almased fast. Much, much better than any other diet I've tried. I'm staying organic and exercising and I feel wonderful; I wish Almased was vegan but I don't think the cows in Europe are treated like the big corporations do here. I am so sorry that people had these bad experiences. The vegetarian alternative is about perfect (vegan would be 100% perfect)--organic, vegetarian, no shots, costs less than groceries even with using organic vegetables to make the broth, and it worked. Plus I love the Rebounder, great with my busy schedule, no more winter weight gain.
No complaints here at all, just wanted to add the vegetarian diet cure experience to the mix.
Tina of Lawrenceville GA (12/09/07) I bought the books and CD for free, except for shipping, which was very high. A monthly newsletter fee continued until my account was finally closed to stop it. Also, other charges showed up on my account from Elite and Credit Keeper. It was far more than I could pay on a fixed income and being disabled.
I lost approximately $300.00 in charges and nsf charges from my debit card being charged unauthorized charges.
Enrique of Houston TX (12/07/07) Thank you for warning the people about ordering material from Kevin Trudeau over the internet and/or infomercials on TV and radio. Almost fell victim to the Video professor but, unfortunately fell for that other crook by the name of Kevin Trudeau.
From an infomercial I ordered the book Natural Cures and was talked into buying the newsletter with the option to cancel them at any time. Well, it has been about 6 years, and they just keep charging my AE card. I have tried to get a telephone number or address to put a stop to it, but after reading the complaints of so many others seems like a losing battle. Every year they keep charging my card for $71.40 for one newsletter throughout the year. Could you help me in any way? I'm retired and don't have that much money to support these bums!
Laurie of Highland Park IL (12/03/07) I ordered 2 books from an infomercial on television yesterday (1-800-240-3417). After speaking with a friend today who said she had ordered the same books but felt they were useless, I called this evening to cancel my order. Trudeau offers the books for nothing - just pay $9.95 per book for shipping. Of course, I know he makes money on the shipping! Then the order taker attempts to sell you a bunch of other things - none of which I took. When I called this evening, the order taker told me that the order had been processed and could not be canceled. In fact, this is ridiculous because the shipping date is 4-6 weeks.
He also gives you free access to his website for 30 days. After that, you are billed $10 a month, but you have the right to cancel. I asked the order taker tonight to cancel me from the website. She said you couldn't do this until the books were delivered to you and this means that if your books are delivered in 4-6 weeks, you are charged for at least a month, maybe 2, of the website. So, the website really isn't cancellable either until they get you for more money. Yesterday, when I brought up this point to the original order taker, she said, "Hmm, that's an interesting point," and then gave me a number to call to cancel (1-800-314-9401) and suggested I do so before the end of December. I'll try, but I'll bet one needs a customer number of something to cancel. They also said that they would email me a confirmation today for my order and I never received anything. I should have googled this guy before buying - a lesson learned. I will dispute all charges on my mastercard and refuse to pay - we'll see what happens.
Lisa of Scottsdale AZ (12/03/07) I ordered the free books Natural Cures They don't Want You To Know About and More Natural Cures. I paid $19.90 for shipping and handling and I never got the books and furthermore, I found out it's a scam. I saw an iformercial on 11-25-07 on TV and ordered the books thinking they were just about herbs or something. I never even got the PROMISED confirmation email that's supposed to document my order! Then today I get this weird letter from Ohio from him telling me I have special rare traits in common with famous people and would I like his secrets of success stuff, and it was personalized, basicaly saying I walk on water and nobody knows it yet but me, but they will know it---really scary stuff. I want my money back and my identity back before somebody cleans out my fixed income bank account! HELP! I lost $19.90 from my checking account. My identity has been sold.
Debbie of Barberton OH (12/03/07) I ordered a book (only 1 book) which I paid for with my credit card. Now I'm being charged $9.95 a month on my card. When you call the 800 number they say that the phones are being worked on. There is no way to reach them. I want the charges stopped. I don't know what they are for.
Karen of Jackson AL (12/03/07) After reading the earlier experiences, I would like to say thank you! I am sorry you had to experience what you did, but it helped me decide whether to purchase Kevin Trudeau's latest book, "Debt Cures", which I find ironic after reading all of your experiences with him and his money scam. I watched his infomercial this morning and he was a smooth talking salesperson and had me sold. Something told me to Google him before purchasing the book and this is where I landed, thankfully! I cannot believe he would have the audacity to write a book about relieving your debt and yet swindle people the way it seems he has. That is wrong! Maybe one day people will realize the truth and stop purchasing his things, which is where it will get him.
Mary of Escondido CA (12/03/07) Watch out! Kevin Trudeau is back at it. An Infomercial is airing right now for a new book, "Debt Cures". Buyer beware!
Penny of Malone NY (12/02/07) I ordered the book on weight loss and the quit smoking CD. The total cost with shipping and handling was $39.90. I ordered this on the 14th of October 2007. The money was taken out of my account on the 22nd of October 2007. (Usually, when you order anything they don't take the money until they have shipped the order.) I have not received my books yet. It is now December 2nd, 2007. I have received my bank statement in the mail with the charge for the books but they took out $79.75 for the order, instead of the amount of the order $39.90. I do not have the money in my account to play with them overcharging me and now I cannot get through to any one to get my money back. I am so mad it isn't even funny. I wish someone could do something about this man. I ordered the Natural Cures book a long time ago. That book really did nothing for me, because you cannot not get any of the products he tells you you need. I was very foolish to order from him again and really don't know why I did.
Patrice of Greensboro, NC (11/30/07) I subscribed to the newsletter and on the same day I cancel it. I sent emails after emails and no one email me back to clear this matter up. Finally I search the internet and found a telephone number. I call ITV ventures because they handle the calls for Nature Cures.
Diane of Farmington Hills, MI (11/30/07) I purchased two copies of Kevin's weight loss book from a television program. Immediately upon review of the book it was clear that the 'regimen' was not easy, cheap or practical.
But, that's not my chief compliant. A month after my purchase, I received correspondence from the Nouveau Tech Society telling me I had been expressly selected to join their secret society of the wealthy and successful, that my 'profile' had been reviewed by society members. The letter was one of the most compelling and mysterious I have ever seen. It was clear that I was contacted by this secret society due to my purchase of Kevin Trudeau's books. I have received additional correspondence from this secret society since.
Carrie of Fairfield OH (11/29/07) I too have the same story as most; however, my newsletter is costing me $9.95 a month. I used my debit card number, so having the charges charged back is not an option. I also was offered the two books free, but my bill reflected S/H by weight, and my total bill came to over $55.00 for one book that was to be $14.95. My newsletter is also dated Aug/07; and I was going to contact by e-mail to cancel, however it seems that all of the previous stories have tried that to no avail. Is there no course of action for us to take, or is this how he became a millionaire?
Because the money is taken from my account, I have had other checks bounce, so my expense is on going. Due to this scam, I will never be able to order anything again using my card. Trust is a funny thing.
Vicki of Indianapolis IN (11/24/07) I bought the Weight Loss Cure book thinking that I could use it to loose weight, but I can't afford to get the shot that you are surposed to get, so therefore the book is of no use to me. I also would like to cancel the newsletter that is sent to me every month and can't seem to get through to anyone.
Scott of Hanover Park, IL (11/24/07) I saw an infomercial from Kevin Trudeau promoting his weight loss cures. He was selling it at a special price for $14.95 plus $9.95 S&H. The offer also included two of his medical cure books for free, but had $9.95 each for S&H. All three books came in the same box, so that mean $29.85, in S&H. This is ridiculous, but is not why I am writing.
On the exact day that I received the books in the mail (six weeks after ordering) I heard on the news that Trudeau was being held in contempt of court for airing the infomercial in which I had ordered from. This angers me beyond belief as I never knew he was forbidden to air this commercial. I had counted on this infomercial being true to it's word.
Martha of Moreno Valley CA (11/24/07) I have been trying to cancel this newsletter and have been unable to and now they charged me $9.95, #730023900010, on 10/29/07. I want my refund. I do not want the newsletter. When I called, I got a message that the phone is not working, or it keeps asking for a Number for the newsletter that came with the books that it does not have. This is a problem, or a rip-off to get money which is fraud.
I am retired and do not always have the money in my checking account. It can lead to a shortage of money, and my other checks will not be paid for my utilities.
Agnes of Princeton, IL (11/23/07) This whole Kevin Trudeau thing sounded wonderful when I heard the infomercial. However after I got the book it talked about a very rigid diet plan that very few people could follow, as well as injections of this miracle product HCG. But lets face it, only a well off person can afford this product.
I got the book thinking this would finally help me. There is no way I can buy anything from any websight selling HCG. No average person who lives on modest salary can afford these products. Not to mention if this HCG is not approved by the FDA, who knows what is in it that you have to administer by injections. Non of these things are apparent in his infomercials.
This man is - as all scam artists are - a great charmer and a great sales man. I am just very disillusioned and sad.
Juanita of Rockvale, CO (11/21/07) I ordered his books from TV commercial. I was dissatisified with the information they claimed but mostly they are charging me for a monthly "Cures newsletter" which I did not order. I am trying to find a right phone number to contact them to discontinue the newsletter. Cannot seem to locate the proper office.
Bill of Leesburg ,FL (11/21/07) I just watched Kevin Trudeau's infomercial, and google lead me here. I just want to try to help the people who are receiving fraudulent charges.
I work for a software company that sells software licenses online. Occasionally we get people who decide they don't want the software anymore and because we have a no-refund policy (our software is shareware meaning you can try the fully-functional application before you buy) they will just call their credit card company, tell them that the charge was fraudulent. Then we will be contacted by the credit card company telling us they've charged the item back to us. It's called a chargeback and there's nothing a company can do about it. If [Company X] is giving you a hard time about refunding money, don't waste your time. Hang up and IMMEDIATELY call your credit card company and tell them the charge is fraudulent and you want it charged back to [Company X]. Not only will this get your refund quickly and in full, it will reflect very badly on [Company X] among the CISP (Card Industry Service Providers).
AGAIN, you need to call the credit card company (visa, mastercard, etc.), not the issuing bank.
Patricia of Coolville OH (11/20/07) I bought a book called "Weight Loss Cure" by Dr. Kevin Trudeau. He advertised that it was a natural herb you can get any place. It is an injection that's illegal in the United States. He's a fraud and advertises on T.V. and the internet. I bought my book at a book store. I have suffered great dissapointment. I'm very angry and depressed.
Horacia of Greenville MS (11/20/07) I ordered the Nature Cures book about three to four weeks ago. I have not received it, but I have been charged $31.00 for the books. I have also been charged $9.95 for a newsletter I did not sign up for. I tried to contact the number that is on my bank statement, and these are not working numbers. This is FRAUD, and I do not appreciate it. I am going to get my money back. Mr. Trudeau deserves to be in jail for taking advantage of honest people who trust his company with secure information. I want my money, and I want compensation for being taken advantage of.
I live in Greenville, MS and we believe in honesty. I am a Christian woman and this is not acceptable.
Sonia of Hobe Sound FL (11/19/07) I purchased 2 books by Kevin Trudeau but I did not want to purchase his newsletter. I was unable to reach anyone at any telephone numbers, I sent e-mails and letters indicating I did not want to receive anything. My checking account has been charged $5.95 monthly since July. So far I have received one newsletter this month and it is dated August, 2007. I have asked the bank to stop payment, but it is difficult to do this without canceling my account. This would be a hardship for me. I am a senior citizen and receive direct deposit of all my finances
Many phone calls that are unanswered. Letters and e-mails unanswered and the monthly charge of $5.95 out of my checking account since July.
Donna of Ypsilanti MI (11/18/07) On May 19, 2007 I ordered NATURAL CURES with Kevin Trudeau from a t.v. infomercial, with a 30 day right to cancel. I returned the book but could not get them to credit my charge card. I also started receiving charges of $5.95 a month for a newsletter that I didn't order and didn't receive but two of them. Other charges started to be added to the charge card like PASSPORT TO FUN for $19.95. I have called the toll free number over and over to cancel, but no answer. I called my charge card, and they removed the charge for the book; and it resurfaced. I cannot get rid of these charges no matter how hard I try. I am also forwarding this information over to the POSTAL INSPECTORS for prosecution for fraud.
I have been out about $150.00 because of this scheme, and a lot of stress.
Doris of Lacombe LA (11/18/07) Two books were offered in a Kevin Trudeau infomercial, for free. I ordered them, and a charge appeared on my credit card. I returned the books. No credit has been applied to my credit card, and a new, unknown charge was made last week in the amount of $5.95--it only says, Natural cures. I've called the number on the credit card statement, and it says that they are reprogramming their system and to call the person's direct number or cell phone number. I don't know how to clear this up. I am 86 years old. There is no way to contact them.
Dianne of Star MS (11/14/07) Kevin Trudeau's Guide to Natural Healing keep sending me bills stating I owe them. I pay my invoices as they come in, and I have receipts dated and have written the check numbers on each. I have sent them payments and a note stating I did not receive the particular invoices in question. They have sent me a notice telling me they will send the next letter out by a collection agency.
I do not have the money to pay for what I do not receive.
Isabel O'malley of Foster City CA (11/10/07) After placing the order on the 800 number given in the infomercial, the site distributed my telephone number I gave them (which happened to be my office) and I received numerous phone calls from telemarketers, even after I repeatedly told them to remove my name and to stop calling me.
Rebecca Thorp of Calgary, Alberta OTHER (11/09/07) I ordered a Kevin Trudeau book by phone, as seen in an infomercial on TV. They charged my Visa. The never received the book. I emailed an inquiry as to the status of the order. They replied the book had been shipped and my file was being closed.
I don't appreciate being scammed and then shut down when inquiring about the order. I'm out about $40 but that's not the issue. This guy should be banned from advertising and put in jail. What a scam they're running.
Carole of Fredericksburg TX (11/09/07) Several years ago I signed up for this newsletter. I then found out that it was just fraudulent information. When my subscription renewal came up it was charged to my credit card. When I discoved this charge. I wrote NCN/KTrudeau that I was canceling my sub. The newsletters stopped. They started and I returned them by mail. Last month Credit Card bill again showed a charge for NCnewletter. The credit card company will not take it off unless I contact NCnewletter and they remove the charge. I have no phone # and cannot contact them.
Celeste of Williamsport, PA (11/07/07) I purchased The Weight Loss Cure by Kevin Trudeau after watching his infomercial. I believe he misrepresents the book greatly on TV. I purchased the book after hearing him state that the method was easy, healthy and all items could be easily obtained. NOT TRUE!
The book is based on ADMINISTERING HCG INJECTIONS TO YOURSELF DAILY! These are not obtained in the USA, Trudeau purchased his in Germany. In the USA it is not considered safe, and as an RN I agree.
Nena of Rigby, ID (11/03/07) I ordered his two books over the phone, just the books. I did not order the newsletter but now I have received the newsletter and have unauthorized charges for it on my debit card.
It makes me angry that someone thinks its ok to run rough shod over people who they act like they are caring for and trying to help. So far damages are just $9.95, if I can get it canceled off my debit card.
Ronald of Ontario CA (11/03/07) I did not order Kevin Trudeau's newsletter for which I am being billed for months. There is no response to my phone calls.
E of Jacksonville FL (11/03/07) I am sitting in the hospital with my diabetic mother who was on Kevin Trudeau's weight loss cure diet. She was on it less than a week, and her kidneys shut down and her other levels were through the roof! I am not sure when she will be able to come home. We both read the book and felt like he was talking to us. He said everything that we wanted to hear. We went online and found a company that distributed the HCG. It was downhill from there. DO NOT ATTEMPT THIS DIET--unless you want to end up in the hospital like my mother.
My mother has been in the hospital for 3 days so far. Don't know when she will get to leave.
Stephanie of Douglasville, GA (11/03/07) I have called to cancel a newsletter that I have yet to receive, nor give permission to charge me for. I have overdraft fees because of this.
I called the number given and sat on hold for over 20 mins. to hear that they will refund me and have canceled the newsletter or that someone will call me. Neither seems to happen.
I am being forced to close my account becouse of this. I want my money back!!!
Cynthia of Minturn, CO (11/03/07) I ordered books and was charged repeatedly for a newsletter I did not order. I called, emailed, canceled, and am still being scammed.
Over $100 lost so far. Can't afford to try the weight loss suggestions in the book. After checking the history of this guy I feel real stupid; he's been scamming for years.
Sarah of New Lenox IL (10/25/07) I purchased the Weight Loss Cure They Don't Want You To Know About book and I was disgusted. On the infomercial, Mr. Trudeau repeated (more than once, I might add) that you take a substance and that is what cures you and helps you lose weight. This is FAR from the truth. The Weight Loss Cure Protocol is SOOO hard to follow and is ridiculously expensive... you have to be under the care of a physician to do this protocol and have to endure injections of a hormone. We all know that no one's health insurance would cover this... It was absolutely ridiculous. His testimonials were VERY deceiving!!!! I will NEVER buy another book from this man. He is a money grubbing jerk. He lies and deceives people into spending their money and that is what is SICK!
I spent my hard-earned money on a book based on deceiving testimonials.
Emerlena of Panama City FL (10/23/07) I ORDERED THE BOOK "NATURAL CURES" ON 08/03/07 AND LIKE A FEW TIMES BEFORE I CALLED AND THEY TOLD ME THAT I WOULD RECEIVE IT WITHIN 8 DAYS. I THEN STATED, THAT I DID NOT WANT THE BOOK ANYMORE, AND I WANTED A REFUND. THE PERSON ON THE PHONE KEPT GIVING ME EXCUSES, AND THEN HUNG UP ON ME.
I HAVE BEEN GOING THROUGH THIS SINCE THE BEGINNING OF OCTOBER, AND THEY JUST DON'T GET IT, I WANT MY MONEY BACK. SO MUCH HASSLE OVER A STUPID BOOK.
Cassie of Red Deer OTHER (10/22/07) I ordered the book 'Weight Loss Cure' and haven't received it yet. It's been charged to my credit card and has been over a month. I was also charged for a newsletter I didn't want. I'd like a return for the newsletter; I haven't received that either. Just the book, no newsletter, and I want to see the money I was charged for the newsletter returned onto my credit card immediately!
Tammy of Prince George OTHER (10/22/07) I ordered some Kevin Trudeau books and have been charged for 3 months for newsletters that I never got and never ordered. I called to cancel and try to get my money back. Now the newsletters have started to come. They are not worth $6.95 month, and I don't want them.
Lorraine of Vicksburg MS (10/17/07) I have tried since July '07 to cancel membership of Kevin Trudeau's newsletter by phone. Am put on hold for 15-20 minutes and never get through. I finally got an email through, and they said no credit because I have to cancel prior to billings. How can you cancel when you can't make reasonable contact? I feel I am due a refund. I did not even receive the newsletters for July and August and have returned September's.
I am paying for something I don't want. He is a fraud and is getting rich off of people like me. They don't answer the phone so they can run up charges.
Carol of Cordova, AL (10/17/07) I ordered his weight loss book and natural cures book. He is charging me $9.95 per month for a newsletter. I can not get them to stop charging my credit card even though I have asked to cancel it.
Plus you cannot afford to be on this diet It is not for the middle class person like it leads you to believe.
Robert of Ormond Beach FL (10/17/07) I ordered Kevin Trudeau's books, am charged $9.95 per month and can't cancel.
Debra of Ballwin, MO (10/16/07) There have been numerous complaints on Kevin Trudeau's business. I have seen him on tv twice tonight. I saw him selling his weight loss cure and debt cures.
In my opinion, this guy is obviously a scam artist by the many people he has ripped off by not returning phone calls and fradulent charges.
I thought his programs are banned? Why did I see him on a local cable channel twice in two hours?
Elaine of Birmingham, AL (10/16/07) Several months ago I purchased More Natural Cures book by phone. I was offered several additional items, all of which I said NO to. One was a trial subscription. I said NO, absolutely not. Nothing I have to cancel.
Some months later I noticed I was being charged a monthly fee for newsletter. I had been throwing these mailings away thinking they were ads. Now I have returned three unopened newsletters and demanded to have a refund for these three and to receive no more.
I wish I could warn everyone not to let these phone order takers get your credit card number. That single order may not be the end of it.
I have been paying $6.95 per month for quite a few months for about a 4 or 5 page newsletter that is worthless.
Angela of Church Point LA (10/14/07) I didn't buy this product, thankfully. God bless all those poor people who did. You all saved me from adding the misery of being duped to the misery of being overweight. I was within minutes of calling in to order when something told me to check the web. I am so grateful to all of you for exposing this!
Pamela of Montgomery, Al AL (10/11/07) I tried to contact the Kevin Trudeau Natural Cures customer service support line, and they never answered the phone. I even had another friend call when I was at work, and he was not able to get through. We called almost everyday. I think people like Kevin should not be allowed to advertise on tv, and then have their customer service people avoid the phone.
I would just like the charge to be removed from my credit card, including the resort offer that comes with the books.
Suzanne of Lansing MI (10/10/07) Update to complaint lodged on 10/8/07 I finally got a live person who informed me that it takes 8 weeks to get the ordered books. However they have already charged my credit card. I have ordered other items from other companies and they have the materials out within a 2 to 3 week period unless they notify you otherwise and they do not charge your account until shipment. I know that I am not the only person to be taken in by this organization or individual. Any assistance your company can give in either getting the ordered materials or having the charges taken off will be appreciated not only by myself but by the many individuals who have also be taken in.
Joe of Branson MO (10/09/07) Bought Kevin Ttudeau's books and am being billed for $9.95 each month for a newsletter I DID NOT want and DID NOT order.
Will have to cancel my credit card in order to avoid the charges.
Bcb of Houston TX (10/08/07) Trudeau has been on the air for years selling various items. I remember about 10 years ago, he was selling Mega Memory (Guess what it helps.) and Mega Speed Reading (No brainer here as well). Surprisingly, I did both programs, and they worked. It took some effort and time, but I was able to memorize and read what I needed to for undergrad better and faster. No, I'm not being paid to say that. However, I recently revisited Mr. Trudeau's natural cures books, and found them to be somewhat of an interesting read, but without any real program. A waste. Now, I was considering buying the weight loss book, but this site has convinced me otherwise. I was interested to find out what the injections were supposed to be, and now I find out it's an extract from pregnant women and illegal? Didn't the informercial say that you could get this stuff readily? I'm disappointed for sure, not only in the natural cures book, but how Trudeau has started hawking crap when he once peddled decent items. Shame on you, Trudeau. What do you do to sleep at night? Take a supplement? It shall be easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle ...
Jo Ann of Baltimore MD (10/08/07) I order Kevin Trudeau's book and received an empty envelope. Tried to call company to get book and cancel newsletter. Am unable to ever have live person answer the phone.
Initially, I have the $24.90 on my credit card in dispute. I am trying to stop any future charges of $9.95 for the newsletter.
Suzanne of Lansing MI (10/08/07) I called the infomercial to purchase Kevin Trudeau's Natural Cures & More Natural Cures books 2 1/2 weeks ago, and I still have not received them. I tried calling them back, and they referred me to customer service who never answers their phones. I have called numerous times, and no one answers ever. I have tried contacting them via the internet, and they do not have a customer service connection. I gave the person my name, address and credit card number, and they took the order and then told me if there was a problem to call the customer service number to check on the status of the order and to cancel the newsletter which I do not want or need.
I have not received the books and do not need re-occurring charges to my credit card that I have not authorized as this can potentially become a major hardship financially for me. I would either like just the products I've ordered or this to be canceled so it does not show up on my credit card.
Paula of Corpus Christi TX (10/07/07) So you want to lose weight, do you? Well then, let me share with all the real secret of weight loss with this simple, 5-step, FREE plan.
1.) Stop eating junk food. Junk food is just about anything that you don't make yourself. Learn to cook. Pack a lunch. Fast food, convenience food, candy, meal replacement bars--let's face it, we all know what junk food is, don't we?
2.) Start eating three squares and two snacks a day. Eat something every three hours or so, even if it's just a handful of peanuts. And don't skip breakfast, people, it really is the most important meal of the day.
3.) Control portion sizes. Do you really have to fill your plate with food in order to feel properly fed? Do you wait 20 minutes before going back for seconds? Leaving a bite or two on your plate will not in any way affect starving children in China.
4.) Don't eat when you're distracted. Eat at the table, not in front of the television. Savor your food, honor your plate; give due attention to every bite that goes into your mouth and you'll get more satisfaction out of every meal.
5.) Move. Move every day. Take a walk, go to the gym, spend an hour washing and waxing the car, garden. Whatever blows your skirt up, just move. This means YOU! Remember, idle hands make for fat hands in the Devil's Workshop.
There you have it. There is no secret. I don't work for the government, or a drug company, and I am not in any way involved in a conspiracy to keep you fat. I have to sit next to you on the plane.
Oh, by the way, Kevin Trudeau did NOT eat an ice cream sundae last night. He was busy counting his money. Let's get together and put his wallet on a diet.
Physical damage incurred by the above 5-step plan: I lost 17 pounds.
Sandria Bice of Willis TX (10/05/07) Like many others I bought the Book Weight Loss Cure and was charge more that I had agreed to pay and what I wanted. I was charged for a newsletter which I never wanted nor requested. I have tried many times to contact this company with no response. They will not let you cancel and they keep charging your account without your permission. This is theft. How can we stop this crook and how can we get back our funds?
If anyone knows I sure would like to get in on the action.
Truly upsetting and the cost that I was charged was funds I did not have. Retired and on SS. Just like a gun had be stuck in my ribs and being held up by a robber. Time and effort to close my account, etc
Christine of Mississauga, Canada (10/05/07) We were cheated by Kevin Trudeau's TV scam and ordered his Natural Cure series books. The company started deducting a monthly service fee for the website membership, but never ship us their so-call free books. I have spent the last several weeks kept writing them e-mail to cancel the membership and get a refund. But they never respond...
Wallace Brown of Dade City FL (10/05/07) I purchased the 2 Natural Cures books as seen on TV.ON 8/02/07 I paid $19.95 via Credit Card for the 2 books. No subsequent order was made but I have been billed for $9.95 on 9/01/07.
I have made many attempts to contact Natural Cures at 800-327-2768 and no results. This is unacceptable and appears to be an attempt at fraud.
Roger of Wichita KS (10/05/07) I ordered three books and a c.d. from a television informercial. Received the books. Nothing helpful in the books. Wanted you to take injections that aren't even available in the U.S. Also, being billed $5.95 per month for a useless newsletter. Tried to call the customer service number to cancel but can't even get in because they require a customer number that we weren't even given. Disgusting! How can Trudeau be selling garbage to the public...thrives on people and their weakness!
Bill of Spirit River, Canada (10/05/07) Ordered his 3 books, $19.95 plus paid $10 for express delivery. Received a confirmation email (Aug 12 07). It is now Oct 5th and still nothing recieved.
Linda of Layton UT (10/05/07) I ordered the diet cure book, in August, also I was dumb enough to take the 2 free books at $9.95 ea I found out afterwards. I subscribed to Rachel Ray magazine, which I promptly canceled during the free period, with no problem. I ordered or agreed to NOTHING else. Now I find I am being charged $9.95 per month for a newsletter or website or something like that. After 6 weeks I finally got through to the customer service number to cancel and was told they could not help me that someone would call me back. No one has ever called me back, I have called everyday for over a week and get told they cannot help me. I have 3 800 numbers and get the same bs at each number meanwhile, they are still taking the money out of my account. It is now Oct and I have received no newsletter or no info on this supposed website. There was no paperwork NOTHING in the box when I received these worthless books.
Joe of Pittsburg CA (10/05/07) I read all the negative bull on your web site about Kevin Trudeau and his books. That is all it was. Negative. I just wonder how many of those people have ties to the Pharmacudical, Medicaland chemical and large manufacturing industries? Everything he has said I learned before his book even came out the hard way. Your Organization is bought and sold by those industries he speaks out against. My compliant is against you!
Sheri Cherry of Bandera TX (10/04/07) I read his books and there is no way I can follow these steps for weight loss. I have read all the negative reviews after ordering his books. He is also now billing me on my credit card for the monthly charge I specifically told him I didn't want. I am very upset to find out that he has been banned from TV advertising and is still getting away with it years later. He needs to be put away.
M. Laporta of Oceanside CA (10/04/07) Almost sent for the book - Weight Loss - then I read the notes from other folks - all I have to say is if it seems too good to be true, it probably is - how many times have we all heard those words? Thanks for saving me the money I probably would have just wasted.
Tina of Mt. Laurel NJ (10/04/07) I hear you all. And thanks for that. Kevin was so believable. I was so excited to finally have hope of a weight loss cure. So I bought his two books. He is a liar and rip off artist
like the rest of them. A wolf in sheeps clothing. His weight loss cure is not only unrealistically unable to do, but expensive as well. I hope what goes around comes around back to Kevin Trudeau. I also am being charged
for a monthly newsletter that I can't cancel because no one answers the phone.
Phyllis Newton of Satsuma AL (10/04/07) I received 3 book, Natural Cures Book, More Natural Cures Revealed Book, Weight loss cure book
Natural cures newsletter 30 day trial
Web-letter
This company is deducting $9.95 every month for the natural cures newsletter that I did not order. When asked if I wanted it I told them no, I only wanted the Weight loss cure book, which is also a scam since you cannot use this diet. He tells comsumers to use a injection of a medicine or illegal product for this diet. It would take a willing doctor to give this injection. I am having to change my checking account to prevent him from deducting from my account. He is illegally taking out this money.
Maryann of Easton MD (10/04/07) I called and tried to cancel the books I ordered after looking at your site. I spoke with Katherine who was quite rude. She told me I could not cancel. I asked why not if it had not been shipped yet. She gave me a phone # 800-240-3417 and then promptly hung up on me. I call that number and sat on hold for what seemed like forever.
Jp Adrian of Chippewa Falls WI (10/03/07) I am astounded at the number of remarks regarding Trudeau and am outraged at the fact that these are all complaints prior to his latest scam! Yes, folks, he was able to produce another piece of b.s. literature which I nearly fell for last night. His book about Debt Cure and what they don't want you to know is going to sell thousands of copies to poor (literally) unsuspecting individuals looking for a way out of consumer debt. He is preying on the weakest of the weak, and I was nearly victim. I am grateful to all of you for your words as this has given me great insight into Trudeau's true agenda.
Samantha of East Orange NJ (10/03/07) I ordered his book from an infomercial in early Sept. 07 and the representative offered me other offers and I explained that I was not interested in anything else but the book. I am now being charged $9.95 for ITV and I refused all offers except the book. I tried reaching out but the number I was given is out of service and the website I was given is not valid. So now I am being charged and can not reach out to anyone.
Rick of Massillon OH (09/30/07) WELL FIRST OF ALL I WAS A MEMBER YEARS AGO AND I GOT THE BOOK AND EVERYTHING AND THERE WERE ONLY DOCTORS THAT I LOOKED UP USING HIS ADVICE. EVERYTHING ELSE WAS A LIE, AFTER THE FIRST YEAR AND I THOUGHT I WOULD GIVE HIM ANOTHER CHANCE AND WENT TO THE WEB SITE, AND WAS TO GET A PASSWORD FOR BEING A MEMBER AND NO PASSWORD. BUT A MONTH LATER A WITHDRAWAL WAS TAKEN FROM MY ACCOUNT, SO I SENT NOTE TO THE SUPPORT GROUP AND ETC, WITH NO REPLY AND A SECOND WITHDRAWAL FROM MY ACCOUNT, AND THIS TIME IT WAS SOONER. SO NOW I HAVE TO CLOSE THE ACCOUNT AND IT HAD COST ME A LOT OF TIME AND EFFORT.
Scott of Pennsauken NJ (09/30/07) KEVIN TRUDEAU IS RIGHT ON THE MONEY. MY HEALTH HAS IMPROVED, MENTALLY AND PHYSICALLY.
Jennifer of St. Helens OR (09/30/07) I ordered the free books, refused everything else they were trying to sell me, paid the shipping fee and haven't heard from them since. NO BOOKS ever came, and that was over 6 months ago.
I lost $34.95
Debra of Sunset LA (09/28/07) i ordered Kevin Trudeau's book on natural cures. The customer service rep did ask me if i wanted to subscribe to the newsletter which I did decline. For the past 5 months i have been charged every month in the amount of $5.95 for the subscription I never ordered. The phone numbers I have tried just put me on hold and no one ever comes on the line.
My credit card is being billed $5.95 per month which might not seem like a lot of money, but I am single mother and I work 3 jobs, and money is very tight for me. One month that very $5.95 put me over my limit which I was charged an extra $29.00 in an over-limit fee. Would greatly appreciate anything you can do.
Lisa of Hanover, PA (09/27/07) I was thinking about purchasing Kevin Trudeau's weight loss cure book and decided to do a little research and came across your website. I'm glad I did because it just saved me from wasting my money. I can't believe that no one in the book publishing industry has refused to publish it.
Thank you for providing a forum for the consumers to speak out because you just saved someone from becoming a sucker.
Ken of Middleburg Hts, OH (09/26/07) I fell for the scam and ordered these books. The company started deducting a monthly service fee for the website membership. I have spent the last 9 weeks attempting to cancel the membership and get a refund because I did not notify them by email prior to the due date for the first month's fee.
The books themselves, do not offer any advise. In order to get any answers, you need to go to the web site and pay a monthy fee. Guess what? We can't even log on to the web site.
Nancy of Chandler AZ (09/25/07) I heard about Mr. Trudeau's book through a good friend who gave it a great review, so I decided to look up info on the Natural Cures book. While doing my research, I came accross this website, and wanted to thank everyone who posted their 'sucker' stories.
Thanx to all of you, there will be one less person who will buy into Mr. Trudeau's lies. You have all saved me a lot of $$$ and agrevation!
Sandra of Salix PA (09/21/07) I called to cancel the on-line newsletter with the Weight Loss Cures They Don't Want You To Know About and let it ring all day long on one of my office phones from 9:00am to 6:00pm on September 20, 2007 and no one answered. So the next day I tried all of the prompt exts. and no one answered any of them. In the meantime I am being continuously charged with the monthly fee.
Robert of Ridgeway, MO (09/20/07) I ordered three of his "free" books last evening. At the end I refused the newsletter and all other deals and asked what my total would be. She said that it would be just over $39 with express shipping. I stated that I wanted normal ground shipping and she said that it would be just under $34 but my card was charged $44.80.
Judy of Necedah, WI (09/19/07) I've tried to cancel my order and all I get is a number that puts me on hold. I keep getting billed on my credit card.
Patricia of Cottonwood, CA (09/18/07) I ordered the weight loss cure, but I send it back. It's been 2 months now and I have not received my refund. I been calling the number they gave me, but it will not go though.
The book says you can lose weight, but you have to get shots that they don't even give in the US.
Loey of La Vergne, TN (09/18/07) I bought the stupid book, Weight Loss Cure - What they don't want you to know. On the TV ad, Mr. Trudeau says that it is a simple thing to do. He claims that you will lose at least 30 pounds in 30 days. He claims that after you lose the weight, you can go back to eating WHATEVER you want, and never gain the weight back.
I read the book. There are 60 strongly advised recommendations you have to do, including things like getting 15 colonics from a licensed colon therapist. I have talked to someone who gets colonics and she said it is $150 per colonic.
He also recommends 3 or 4 Thai massages in a week. Who has that kind of money or time!! He recommends avoiding florescent light - HOW? He claims he did this without exercise, then he recommends walking daily for one hour out doors. He recommends eating everything ORGANIC. Probably not a bad idea, but again, unless your budget allows for the increase in expense - HOW? He claims that sun doesn't cause cancer - it is the sunscreen we put on our skin that causes cancer. He tells you to avoid air conditioners, and ice cold beverages. Obviously, he doesn't live in the South.
The worst is the HCG (human chorionic gonadatrophin). A growth hormone extracted from the urine of pregnant women. It is NOT FDA approved. It is NOT cheap. No self respecting physician is going to write a script for this stuff. Kevin Trudeau wants you to give yourself MASSIVE injections of this stuff daily.
I think Kevin Trudeau is a snake oil salesman. He offers great hope to those of us who need to lose weight and then pulls the rug out from under us. When you call to order his book, the person selling it goes through a litany of other things including magazine offers, and Mr. Trudeau's newsletter that they will 'conveniently' deduct from your credit card account monthly. You have to listen very closely, first because they talk very fast and because they don't ask you if you want it, they tell you they are GOING TO DO IT. You have to tell them NO, over and over again.
I am sorry that I ever heard of Kevin Trudeau.
Gloria of Houston, TX (09/17/07) I placed an order for Kevin Trudeau's Weight Loss Book after watching an informercial. I did an internet search and found out the weight loss program was bogus. It involves the injection of a substance and it is not allowed in this country.
I immediately tried to cancel but was told, in a rude manner, I could not cancel it! I was told I could leave a message, but no one was at that phone. If, I get it and send it back, I will be charged shipping.
I read that Trudeau's infomericals were banned a few years ago from the US. I don't know if that is still true, but it should be.
Thomas of Houston, TX (09/16/07) This book is as big a scam as the author himself. All the organic foods, the different types of teas to drink everyday, eating 6x`s a day, and daily injections of HCG, [I don`t even know if they have this in the USA].
I would have to sell my home to buy all this stuff! Also I`d have to quit my job because of the use of fluorscent lights and A/C. I live in Houston, TX and the humidity here is horrible!
Patricia Gillen of Smithtown NY (09/14/07) I've tried to cancel the NaturalCures Newsletter but they do not cancel the newsletter and continue to charge my credit card. I have e-mailed them numerous times to no avail. There does not seem to be a telephone number to call.
I continue to be charged 5.95 per month for this newsletter. I know it is not much but if they continue to charge me this ammount and others falling into the same trap, then they are making a lot of undeserved money. Please look into this.
Steve of Humble, TX (09/14/07) On June 10th, I ordered the two Kevin Trudeaux books on Natural Cures and to date I have not received the books. No books and no one will answer the phone in customer service or answer an e-mail.While talking to one of their order people, and telling them of my experience, we were mysteriously cut off.
I don't want the books now after what I have read from others who have complained.
Joan of Mitchellville, MD (09/01/07) A television advertisement claimed that The Weight Loss Cure would provide step by step processes to lose weight. After reading the book I found that you must get an injection of HCG which is not dispensible in the US and you must go to a doctor out of the |
