Elizabeth of corsicana, TX August 13, 2009 i experienced same problem as many other people i purchased an emerson 32' flat panel hd tv and am having the problem where i turn it on and ot then shuts right back off you would think with all of the people experiancing the same exact problem they would do something to fix it Dara of Rockford, IL July 28, 2009 My Mom pruchased a Emerson 32" LCD TV same model # as most everyone on here has complained about in Nov 08 and used it about 10 hours (she is a snowbird) and came back north and watched it for 1 day and the picture change to look like an undeveloped negative. She did purchase the warranty ansd after jumping through their loops and taking it to a repair shop and paying the labor charge (never refunded) the TV was deemed unrepairable. They then sent her another TV (after waiting for a call back several days) only to receive a USED REFURBISHED one. Probably one of the other TV's from another consumer problem return. Now after receiving the 2nd USED REFURBISHED tv that one also has the same problem. Now we are waiting for another call back. She would like her money back. It doesn't matter if you purchase a warranty or not, it WILL COST YOU!!! If not in labor fees it will get you in the stress level. Highly aggravated!!!! Laura of Topeka, KS July 10, 2009 My daughter bought a 32 inch Emerson from Walmart in February or March with her tax refund. She was watching it one day when it just went black and now won't come back on. She of course cannot find her receipt to return it but I contacted Walmart and they said it would have to be returned to Emerson, which from reading other post won't do any good. She is a single mom making a small salary and cannot afford another TV until tax time next year until then she is back to using her small 19 inch. It is shame that Walmart and Emerson both will do nothing to fix this defective product. I warned her about buying and Emerson, maybe she will listen to me next time. Danni of Sebastopol, CA July 10, 2009 We bought our 32" Emerson TV from WalMart about 16 months ago. I've only wiped down the frame of it, not the screen, with a slightly damp soft cloth, hardly enough to get fingerprints off. The screen, only carefully dusting. 6 months ago I noticed a dark crease in screen, only visable while TV on. It developed another, and then another, starting at the top of screen. The middle one is about 1" wide and goes almost halfway down screen. There are three to the right of that and two to the left. The farthest at each side are shortest in lenth but widest in width. It is not moisture. It is not on outside of screen. They developed in a few weeks time. They seem to be permanant and I really believe it's an inner screen behind the outer one, that because of poor manufacturing or poor material, it slacked, causing the effects of ripple. This was my first brand new TV. Not the cheapest, but far from the most costly. It's miserable to watch through these dark marks, I have very little faith in any electronics these days, and the price of things, wow. Who's to blame for all the foreclosures? Gotta buy a new TV every two years? What happened to something lasting 10 years? . Michael of Bridge City, TX July 8, 2009 I bought an Emerson television in December 08. In March of 09 I unpacked it and began using it. Within 2 months the video input failed. I could turn it off for a few minutes and that would fix the problem. But now it has stopped working completely. Garnet of Tumwater, WA July 2, 2009 Right around 1.3 years ago I purchased an Emerson LCD 32" TV Model LC320EM8A from WalMart. It suddenly went black and is like the problems I have found on this site. No pic/no sound and will not reset. It costs almost as much to MAYBE repair as it would to buy another inexpensive TV. I am disgusted to see that all these people have the same complaint and cannot get help. A prime example of how not to build a solid customer base. I won't buy Emerson again unless this can somehow be resolved. Also, though I'm a WalMart customer, it is curious to me that most (if not all) of these faulty TVs came from WalMart. Interesting. Damon of Castro Valley, CA July 1, 2009 I too bought the Emerson 32 inch hdtv. I am having the same problem as everyone else. I looked to turn my t.v. on and noticed to the red standby light was off...enough said. I look online and see too many other people having the same problem as me. Wasn't a good sign, needless to say. I am very disappointed! Ellen of Menands, NY June 30, 2009 I purchased a 32 inch emerson flat screen for my bedroom, and approximately 18 months later the TV does not work. When powered on it stays on for a 2 seconds and then shuts off. This TV does not get constant use so there is no reason why it would stop working unless this particular model has a defect. I was going to have it repaired, however after reading complaints it appears to be a defective product. Also no one has had luck after spending a lot of money to fix it. I would never purchase another emerson product again unless this problem can be resolved. Randall of Shreveport, LA June 28, 2009 My Wife and I had purchased a Emerson 32" HD LCD TV from Wal-Mart in February 2008 and the TV has stopped working. I contacted Emerson Technical Support number which is located on the owner's manual. I asked for assistance to have the unit repaired, the responce I received was "there is no place or business that will repair the unit in your area". When I asked what recourse do I have I may as well been talking to the wall". I promise you that I will never NEVER! purchasae anything that has "Emerson" on it or associated with it! This is the worse customer support/ customer service I have ever seen! John of Rochester, MN June 26, 2009 I bought an Emerson 32inch LCD advertised at Wal-Mart for 1080P but really 1080i. The model number is LC32 1EM9. 1. The HDMI ports do not work at all. The screen displays a "Not Supported Format" when I hook anything through the HDMI port (Playstation 3, computer, Blue-ray Player.) I called customer support and they advised to hook up my Hi-Def equipment via the video composite cords. They also would not give me a list of supported equipment that can be hooked to the HDMI ports. DO NOT BUY EMERSON LCD TV's. False advertisment and terrible customer service. Report Your Experience
