i have a hitachi 50v720 rear projection tv that is just over 3 years old and already on my third bulb. after a big red spot covered my screen, i called hitachi and they said it was more than likely the light engine. they told us to have a certified tech to come out and confirm it and they would consider replacing it but we would have to pay the labor. we did that and it cost 60.00.

when we called back they said no they wouldn't replaced it why did we think that. we told them what we was told to do by them and all they could say was i wasn't the one who told you to get a tech. now i am out 60.00 on top of 1600.00 for what a light engine will cost and 400.00 for the labor on a faulty 2400.00 tv.

We bought a Hitachi 50 inch TV. Within 18 months a large blue blob appeared on the center of the screen. It turned out to be the Light Engine. We repaired it. Hitachi provided the part, we paid for the labor. The new Light Engine offered poor-quality picture. Then three months after the repairs, a purple haze appeared. We're not spending any more money on repairs.

My Hotachi LCD Rear projection television model 55vs69a has a big spot in the middle of my tv like many others and it is not covered under warrenty.

My tv is only 2 years old it is will cost half of the purchuse price to fix.

I bought a Hitachi 50inch HDTV about two and a half years ago. one day I turned the tv on and I had picture and no sound. I called a repairman to come fix it and he new exactly what it was, so 433 later my tv is now working again. About 2 days later I started noticing a big blue blob in the middle of the screen.

From what I have read I am sure that calling Hitachi will not do me any good. I will never buy another Hitachi product. I paid too much money for this tv for it to only last 2 1/2 years. model #50c20

On10/14/2005 I bought aHitachi 55'' LDC Tv at a cost of2,899 Sence then it has been out of service 4 times. The last time is from 12/2/08 till now as of yet not fixed. Upon repeated calls i have been told that part is on back order and they will call. after every week i recall and get the same answer. On about 1/06/09 i called and was told that they was going to get a new part from diff sorce and would deffinatly be able to get it and would call with ETA. as of now still no call.

They have been informed that i have a handycaped grandson an that TV is a big part of his life. I allso am retired and love sports and had to watch Supper Bowl on 19'' Tv in computer room. I think that after all this time and at a cost of 100 to me for set to go to shop + laber that some thing needs to be done. Is there such a thing as a lemon law for TVs

Hardshipe for Grandson and wife that look at tv alot need to go to computer room and watch small tv. and i fallow all Wisc. sports and miss seeing them

I purchased a Hitachi 50v720 big screen television and it stopped working. I paid over 1500 for the television with a credit credit. The warranty has expired and the cost is ridiculous to get it fixed. I have searched the internet to see how common this problem is...and it is very common. This television should be on the recall list!

I can't watch this expensive piece of equipment taking up space in my house. It is too costly to trash it.
