Mitsubishi

S of Las Vegas, NV September 22, 2009

I purchased a Mitsubishi WS65613 TV because at one time Mitsubishi had a good reputation. It has been a a pile of junk. I first got the gree light flashing, which I reported to Mitsubishi. Then the green light shut off the set. Great serice at the cost of 700.00 on a product they knew was bad because I had told them. The NON-service people said "We have to take the set to the shop." I told them it was just the chip on the board so replace it. "No it has to go to the shop." Off course it was 100.00 up front to take the set. Finally got the set back a week later and the green light was gone. I did notice the screen had faint white boxes accross the bottom. I called about it and they told be I must have used the subtitles too much. I timed the subtitles and very few last over 4 seconds which is hardly enough tome to burn the screen. It is also very strange that the boxes were NOT on the screen when they "Had" to take the set to the shop. In conclusion I will NEVER buy another product from Mitsubishi and I have stood at the local TV stores and expressed my opion to people looking it their products. This company deserves all the NO Sales we can give them.

I purchased a 65" Mitsubishi DLP HDTV (Model# WD-65732)on January 15, 2007. I even purchased the 4 year extended warranty for 449.99. Within a year, the lamp had to be replaced, on 12/06/07. It was covered under the manufacturer's 1-year warranty. On 09/19/09, the lamp went out again! That's two lamps in only 2 years and 8 months! My wife and I called the Magnolia Home Theatre located in Best Buy and spoke with Jennifer (of the Geek Squad)who scheduled a technician to come out to our home to replace the bulb at no cost.

We complained about the lamp burning out and how it inconvenienced us and suggested that the technician provide us with an extra lamp. Jennifer said that should not be a problem. Today, 09/21/09, I called up Best Buy again to reschedule the hours of our appointment, and they are telling me that they do not even see an appointment time scheduled. They further explained that the lamp would cost me this time since it is after the 1-year warranty. I mentioned that I have their Performance Service Plan (4-year warranty), and they still insisted that I would have to pay. That does not make any sense because under the coverage terms of the PSP, it states, "This Plan provides coverage for one(1) bulb repair or replacement on DLP, projection LCD televisions, and desktop projectors during the term of this plan."

I got my first replacement under the manufacturer's 1-year warranty. I purchased separately the Magnolia Home Theater's 4-year warranty plan which should in its own separate plan provide me a free lamp. So my wife and I are being told two different things. Anyhow, we paid much money for the TV and the warranty and we expect better quality, performance, and service. I've read many similar posts and somehow Mitsubishi and all the associated retail stores have much to answer for! This is ridiculous!!

I bought a 62" WD62825 off craigs list about a year ago for 400. I thought it was cheap and i know why now. The previous owner said he had it for a few years and had to replace the light module and bulbs. The DOM is less than 5 years ago so the tv is not that old. It was hot out and then the tv stopped working. Same green blinking light that everybody has.

I tore mine apart and none of the caps looked bad at all. I pulled about 6 of the 1000 and 3300uF out and they measured correctly. I gave the tv away free on craigs list and the guy was stoked! He has 3 of these POS TVs so now he can swap parts out to make 1 of them work! I was telling him how to put it back together and he said he had tore them apart too many times to count and needed no instruction. I was going to smash the tv with a sledge hammer, but my wife said to give it away instead.

We purchased a Mitsubishi large screen Medallion television for 3500 when we built our new home in 2005. This television is extremely complicated to operate and has had numerous problems since the day we purchased it. It has very few hours on it; since it doesn't work properly and is so difficult to operate.

Approximately 1 year ago; the green timer light started blinking and we had to have it serviced and it cost around 500. I contacted Mitsubishi Customer Service directly and I spoke with a foreign gentleman that was very hard to understand. He was reading off of a script and made it very apparent that this was not his problem. After spending the 500 to have it fixed; we have used it less than 12 times; and the green timer light is now blinking again and the television is unoperable.

After reading about this problem online; I discovered that there are many, many, many people who have the same issue w/these televisions. Mitsubish needs to own up to the fact that they sold a bad product and recall them to be fixed at their cost. We will NEVER purchase another electronic device from a company that cannot own up to the fact that they built a slug of lemons.

Don of Chester, VA August 6, 2009

I bought a Mitsubishi WD-65731 65 inch DLP TV about two years ago from Best Buy at Colonial Heights, Va. I also bought the extended in-home warranty for 4 years on this TV at a cost of over 300.00. Last February the lamp burned out. I called Best Buy and they told me that they would dispatch their technicians out to replace the bulb. Three weeks later, the bulb was finally replaced. Last week, the bulb burned out again. After calling Best Buy, they said that the warranty only covers replacing the bulb once...even though the bulb was only 5 months old. Needless to say, neither I or any member of my family will be shopping at Best Buy again. Nor will I be buying any more Mitsubishi products. This is inexcusable for a 3,000 TV that is a little over 2 years old.
