A class-action lawsuit in California charges that the Sony has misrepresented the PlayStation 2 by claiming that it also plays DVDs. The suit charges that many units stop reading DVDs after only a few months of use. Gee, that sounds just like what our readers have been saying. By the way, the problems with Playstation 2 aren't all that new. Playstation 1 wasn't exactly perfect either.

Bought Sony Playstation 2 and Rock Band for Christmas. Rock Band will not play on the PS2. I have called RockBand Support and Sony. Sony said to wait and they will create a patch, RockBand said it has to do with the PS2 serial numbers and the layered RockBand disk not playing on PS2. I am very disappointed as my family are not gamers and this is our first game system, and we are having problems. I will try to return both to the store, but since they are opened, i'm not counting on that.

Had a defective PS3 which was still under warantee. Sony sent me a box which I used shipped the PS3 to their repair center. After over a month of not hearing any word I called sony to find out the status. I was told that my PS3 could not be repaired and that I should be receiving a refurbished unit in the mail. A week later after not receiving anything in the mail and no word from Sony, I called them back to check on the status once again. They told me I would need to call MTC (the repair center).

I called MTC who told me there was liquid damage to the motherboard and they'd be sending me back the damaged PS3. The PS3 has been sitting in my TV stand for it's entire duration and there is no way any liquid was spilled on it unless it happened during shipping or during the month and a half it had been sitting at the repair center. I called Sony back and explained that I wasn't happy that I'd be receiving a non-working PS3 and that I had not spilled any liquid on it. I explained that there had been a month and a half since I had originally sent the PS3 in, and how could they be sure that it hadn't been sitting in a moist room or that someone at the repair center hadn't made a mistake as they had already made the mistake of ignoring me for over a month. Anyways, I was told that nothing could be done for me.

I have nothing left to view or play any of my blu-ray discs or PS3 games without buying a new PS3, which will cost me 400

We bought our Sony PlayStation 2 Console (#79001 silver slimline)for Christmas as a gift to our son in 2007. No problems what so ever until this Christmas when our son wanted Guitar Hero World Tour to complete his collection of all the Guitar Hero games. Put the new game in the console Christmas day, and didn't work.

We took the game back to WalMart where we purchased it, and they opened up the new game in the store, said it was in perfect condition, and if it didn't work this time I couldn't return it. Brought it home...it didn't work. The PS2 console works great for all other games. After many hours of frustration and watching my son in tears, I started doing some online investigating, and found there are thousands of other people with the same exact problem, and no solution.

With all the complaints on PS2 and Guitar Hero World Tour, Sony and Activision must have known about this problem for sometime, but are not doing anything about it. WHY??? Something has to be done. THIS IS NOT RIGHT!!! To see my son in tears is bad enough, but now I'm stuck with a 40 game I can't use, or take back to the store to even exchange for another game!! Sony/Activision...PLEASE GET THIS RESOLVED!!!!! I WANT A GAME THAT WORKS!!

I'm out 40 for a game that does not work. I can't return it for exchange or refund either. This was our son's main Christmas gift. His Christmas was ruined, and we can't afford to buy a different game for him.

Bought Guitar Hero World Tour that was advertised to work with the PS2. However, the system did not work because the PS2 was an older model. Nothing in the advertisement stated it would not work with older models.

A Christmas gift that cost 190 is now sitting idle and unusable. There is the option of paying an addition 45 to get a refurbished PS2 from the company. What a scam!

I originally purchased a playstation 3 in july of 2008. I also purchased a replacement plan with the unit. In October of 2008 the unit began to malfunction and i sent it back. I received a unit (refurbished) three weeks later. The unit that I received was faulty because it had a loose part moving-around the inside of the unit so i sent it back (before the Thanksgiving holiday).

The second week of December I called to follow up on my replacement. The rep that I spoke with told me i was to receive a Gift-card in 1-week because the unit is back-ordered. I call back a week later (3rd week of December) to follow-up on the gift card and the rep I spoke to told me that the Gift-card was denied and I was to receive a replacement unit in 1-week. I called back on the 29th of December and was told that they would have a shipping-date for me on the 2nd of January. I called this morning and now they have told me that the unit is on back-order and they do not have a date for me. I requested for my money to be refunded and they do not want to warrant Time as grounds for a refund.

This has caused anxiety and stress levels to rise!
