Vizio

gary of myrtle beach, SC October 29, 2009

Bought a VIZIO like this one A year Ago (1yr Warranty) IT DIED, IT IS DEAD and it is not walmarts fault but, VIZO has the worst customer service and there TV'S are cheaper because you will be buying another one shortly. IT will just stop working. and I promise VIZIO will not help you in any way.

I called there CS and there refered me to a repair person 147 miles from myrtle Beach, S.C. They won't even come this far to fix it.(even with me paying) SO now I have a WideScreen ANCHOR. It is usless, there is not one around to fix it after it breaks and it more then likely will, if it is like the VIZIO's I have read reviews about online. SO BUYER BEWARE. IF it Sounds to good to be true it is. Cheapest Price also means CHEAP PRODUCT.

I am out of the 400.oo it cost to buy one tv and now I have to go spend another 400-600. to get one that will work

Bill of Clayton, NC October 28, 2009

I've been through the same horror story as everyone else with Vizio. My 46" 1080p FHDTV crapped out at 14 months. I called several times as well and the told me they could do nothing for me as I was out of warranty. The picture constantly has that black gradient ghost covering two-thirds of the screen. I'm laid-off almost a year and can't afford to repair/replace the thing.

Marnie of St. Clairsville, OH October 27, 2009

I bought a Vizio VW42L FHDTV10A at Walmart on 9/12/08 for 896.00. It was delivered on 9/17/08. On 10/18/09 I turned on the TV heard a buzz. The screen went black. I had sound but no picture. I called Vizio, they troubleshooted with me. My husband called on 10/26/09 again, and they said they could send someone to look at it for about 400 b/c the warranty ran out 31 days ago.

On 10/26/09 I called Vizio again to talk about the backlight. She stated that if the backlight is out, it can not be fixed. So, if one part on the TV breaks the whole TV is junk? I asked her if the TV was junk then if the backlight couldn't be fixed. She stated yes. I filed a complaint with the BBB also. I can't afford to pay 400.00 for a tech to come out and look at the TV. I don't even have the TV paid off yet.

I do this 3 to 4 times before it stays on.And of couurse no extended warranty.cmon 1 year pretty crappy if u ask me!will never buy 1 again or recomend it to anyone!!!!!!!

mary of twinsburg, OH October 25, 2009

I purchased a 32" Vizio HDTV at Walmart on July 24, 2008 as a gift for my mother. The TV started having problems with turning on and off repeatedly about the 2nd week of October 2009. She contacted Vizio about this problem and they advised her to unplug the set and wait a about 15mins and plug it back in. It continued to turn on and off repeatedly, and seemed to her to get worse. About a week after this happened, the TV shut down and has not worked since. She again contacted Vizio and was told her warranty had expired and they would provide her with a number for repair, at her expense.

Since I purchased the TV, I emailed "Vivian" at Vizio technical support and also was told after a few correspondences that she was "sorry" but that the warranty had expired and that "unfortunately, after the one year warranty has expired, Vizio is no longer responsible for expenses". I have gone to Walmart with the complaint and will continue to pursue this up through the chain of commands at Vizio. I was also told on more than one occasion that I had the opportunity to purchase the extended warranty for the Tv...my thoughts on this are if you stand behind your product and build a decent product, an extended warranty should not be needed. I spent over 562.32 on this set and expect more than 14 months of use. Sounds as if there are quite a few complaints regarding Vizio. Would like to see these issues taken care of.

Marc of Anna, OH October 24, 2009

Bought a 32" Flat Screen plasma from Wal-mart about 1.5 years ago and it started to click on and off several times before it would finally come on. Then one day it just never came on. I called Vizio Tech support and they booked a repair time for me. The repair company called me within 2 days and he showed up about 5 days later and repaired my television for free!

Mike of Manassas, VA October 23, 2009

Well, looks like one more to add to the ranks of those who wasted their money on a Vizio TV. I too bought one of these sets only a year and a half ago and now all of a sudden the picture has gone black, ouputting only sound. None of the inputs matter as I have checked them all. I have unplugged the set and plugged it in again. Still nothing.

Guess I better be prepared to step into the line of frustrated customers contacting Costco and Vizio. With this many customer complaints about the same issues, you'd think a class action suite might be the answer. The econics of it is that I'm out 1300.00 bucks if I can't get a resolution, then of course theres the time involved in getting it repaired. Probably some time off from work will be necessary. So add lost wages to the bill.

Aaron of Brazoria, TX October 20, 2009

purchased new plasma screen tv and extended warranty. oct 12 08.power switch has failed @ oct 17 09.vizio has stated no longer warrantied as manufacturer only 1 year. wal-mart cant find this set in their system.have receipt and at this time expect repair replace or refund.

ginger of wood dale, IL October 20, 2009

purchased 50 inch in feb of 08 tv went out in june of 09 called company nothing they would do. called a repair center paig 500 to repair blew again in july blew again in august now again in october all parts are defective they dont stand by there product at all

Jesse of Boise, ID October 19, 2009

I bought a GV42L HDTV from Costco on Feb. 24, 2007 and on Oct. 18, 2009, the TV made a loud pop and the screen went black. The buttons on the side don't work, but the little Vizio light is white as if the TV is still on. I see this is a common complaint and I will tell anyone I know never to purchase on of Vizio's products. Hopefully, they will tell their friends the same thing. A complete disgrace. I am out of the 1-year warranty.
