You can add our TV to the list of complaints regarding Westinghouse model # SK-19H210S. We purchased the set at Sams Club in January of '08. The trouble started with the TV alternating between 'TV' and 'DTV'...all on its own. Then there would be no picture, but the sound remained; then no sound, but the picture would come on. Finally NOTHING...the TV was dead. My husband decided to investigate, via the Internet, the possibility that others may have experienced a similar situation. We had no idea of the scope of the problem with this particular Westinghouse brand TV! We will lodge a complaint with the company, regardless of their indifference, as many others have stated. We decided to avoid the repair costs, which we anticipated, would most likely be as costly as finding a replacement. Bottom line...NO more Westinghouse, in this house...EVER!

I bought a Westinghouse 19" LCD TV M/N SK-19H210S from Best Buy a little over a year ago. We don't use it much since it is in my wife's studio and she usually watches a couple of programs a week on it when I'm not home. It went DEAD a couple of weeks ago (does not turn on - even the little blue light behind the Westinghouse logo does not come on) and Westinghouse service tells me that it will cost 150 to repair when I've already spent over 300 at Best Buy for it! Based on the number of complaints I've seen on a Google search, DON'T BUY ANY WESTINGHOUSE PRODUCT IF YOU NEED A QUALITY PRODUCT.

About 18 months ago I purchased a new Westinghouse 32" flat screen TV from Walmart. The TV worked great until a About A Week ago. My Wife took it to the local repair shop to get it fixed, because it started shutting off and would not stay turned on Also Had A Burning Smell. I was informed by Perkins TV repair in Baileyton Al. That I could possibly get parts to repair my TV. So, basically I have to Spend Approximately 250.00 On A TV That Cost Over 500.00 To Get It To Work Again , and could possibly Tear Up Again

KELLY of DERBY, KS August 28, 2009

About 18 months ago I purchased a new Westinghouse 32" flat screen TV from Best Buy. The TV worked great until a few days ago. I took it to our local repair shop to get it fixed, because it started shutting off and would not stay turned on. I was informed by Hepner's TV repair in Wichita that Westinghouse and several other name brands have been purchased by companies in China and they cannot get parts to repair these TVs. So, basically I have to throw a 500 TV into the trash because it can't be fixed. So, please check with your local repair shop before spending a lot of money on a big screen TV that might not be able to be repaired.

In May 2008 I purchased a 19" Westinghouse LCD TV SK-19H210S from Best Buy for my guest room, using (2) 100 gift certificates from my children and over 100 out of pocket....I did not take out the extended warranty, BIG BIG MISTAKE! If the TV was on 100 times in the past 15 months it was a LOT! It is the worst piece of junk I have ever purchased!

I used a power strip and went out yesterday (not a cloud in the sky) and came home to a bright screen...(I did not leave it on while I was out). I thought,,,,this isn't good! However, when I tried to get a picture (using cable) I could hear sound but no picture...then purple and black vertical lines..then NOTHING! I had to unplug it because it was getting hot and I couldn't turn it off even manually!

I did call BB and they said...if it makes you feel any better,,,we don't carry that brand anymore! Am I supposed to come up with 300 every year for a TV!? I would not even bother fixing it...JUNK! BEWARE!!!!!!! I will try the 866 # tomorrow but doubt anything will come of it! I am SO aggravated.

Tom of Saginaw, MI June 10, 2009

My wife bought me a Westinghouse SK-19H210S LCD TV for Christmas 2007. I plugged it in and have had no problem until June 5, 2009. I turned the TV on and got nothing. No power to the TV. I unplugged it then plugged it back in still nothing. I checked the cord and I had power to the end. The unit was purchased without an extended warranty. I found the paperwork and noticed that the unit only had a one year warranty on it.

Since the warranty had expired I searched the internet and found many many people had the same problem with the same set. All units had power supply failure within 14 to 17 months after purchase. I called Westinghouse and actually did get to talk to someone. He told me I would have to purchase the replacement parts and fix the TV myself because the warranty had expired. I do not have a problem with that, what I do have a problem with is the response I received when I asked the tech on the phone about all the complaints I found on the internet. His response when asked if Westinghouse was going to do something because so many people had the same problem was as follows:

“Don’t you tell us how to run our business; you bought the set you can fix it. Don’t call us anymore the best way to contact us is through Email.” I asked if I could talk to a supervisor and I was informed they are much too busy to talk to me. When asked if there was a QA department I could talk to the answer was no and the line went dead due to him hanging up on me. Guess what, I have sent five (5) Emails with no response. I will never by another White Westinghouse product again.

William of Turnersville, NJ June 9, 2009

I purchased a Westinghouse LCD TV (Pt-16H610S at Target Store on May 9, 2008. I returned it to Westinghouse Digital Electronics and they received it well within the one year warrantee, specifically on April 6. I have received nothing but a run-around, non-reponses and broken promises. No one at Westinghouse takes ownership of the problem. The set was part of a kitchen remodelling which went well except for this utter disregard of my problem with Westinghouse.

John of Cincinnati, OH June 9, 2009

Westinghouse service center rarely answers it's phone, doesn't return emails or phone messages and when you do get a chance to talk to someone, they tell you they have no status update or they lie to you and say your TV has been shipped but they don't have a tracking number and to call back the next day. Same thing over and over. Going on now for weeks and I have no idea how to get my TV back. TV was originally 800 and I paid an additional charge to send it back as per Westinghouse instruction.

Katherine of Pompano Beach, FL June 9, 2009

After having my Westinghouse 37" LCD for 9 months, I suddenly had no picture. I said no problem, I'm still under warranty. After having to search the web for the correct CS #, I discovered that it seems they are no longer answering their phones. After endless recordings about the next rep will assist you in the order in which the call was recieved, blah blah blah, I was connected to their "general mailbox" and instructed to leave a message.

THEN I started researching this issue on the web, and after reading horror stories on this site, as well as similar stories on other sites, I saw no need to go any further. I do not need that kind of drama in my life. I have called my TV guy, and he is going to fix it. He offers a REAL 1 year warranty on the set. Buyer beware. There is no customer service. Period.
