Ron of Carriere MS (07/24/06)
Bought Xbox 360 with extended warranty for my grandkids 2-06. It broke 7/5/06 after less than 12 times of use. Called extended warranty the person said put everything back in the box and send it to them for repair or money back. I sent back xbox, but included the external hard drive since it came with the xbox, per person I talked to. BestBuy did not even try to fix the xbox, they refunded me 318.00. I called them and said they need to refund me for the external hard drive I sent them but they said I did not buy a seperate policy on the hard drive. I said fine, send it back as it just snaps into the xbox. Amy said she would try to get the warehouse to send it back but Carolyn, the supervisor said they cannot send anything back, even though her person told me to include everything in box when I sent it back.

First of all, BestBuy's 2 year replacement warranty is only good ONCE unlike Microsoft's extended warranty of 2 years. Nobody told me that until I had a problem to read the fine print, I could only collect on the replacement plan ONCE, it was not good for 2 years as I thought, no matter how many times it failed. Also, they only sent me 318.00 and the xbox 360 is now costing 399.00 plus tax so I lost 100.00 due to inflation. FINALLY, their operator told me to send everything back to them to diagnose what the problem was or send me my money back.....and I lost another 100.00 for the external hard drive I sent back because they did not reimburse me for that and they say they cannot send the external hard drive back to me. This is a rip off because if I would have bought the extended warranty from microsoft for 10 more, I would have had a full 2 year warranty no matter how many times it failed.

Ozzy of Azusa CA (07/23/06)
I bought an XBOX 360 towards the end of December of 2005 - approx. 12/24/2005. The product began to malfunction almost immediatley. I though maybe it was the game that was the problem, but the 'box' would freeze up regardless of the game I played. I was preparing to move into my new condominium, so I didn't take care of the issue right away. I finally reported the problem May 5, 2006, being that I hadn't taken my Xbox 360 out of the box I had it stored in. Xbox support offered to repair my box if I sent it in, so, I did. About a few days later I called in, and a Microsoft support rep. informed me that I was being sent a brand new. A few days after that I receive a note from UPS telling me they attempted to deliver my package and the next time and day they would attempt again. I then called UPS and asked for that package to be delivered to a UPS store so I could pick it up the next day.

Once I received my package, I attempted to play on the Xbox 360. And it worked for a few minutes, but it still had the same problem. It would freeze up. I even attempted to play a brand new game - no luck. So, I called to report the trouble again, and this is when I find out that it isn't my original box - it's a 'refurbished' one! It turns out this is how Xbox 360 support handles their repair issues. They send you a box someone else paid for and reported problems on, and they CAN NOT track or tell you where your original box is. After arguing with a supervisor about locating my original box, I agree to send the second Xbox 360 in for repair, since I have no choice - it doesn't work.

So, I wait for another Xbox 360 to be sent to me, hoping I get one that works. On, Saturday July 15, 2006 I search the UPS tracking number I was given by a Xbox 360 support rep. and on the UPS website it says my packaged had been delivered at 11:47A.M. on July 13, 2006. I now call Xbox 360 support to ask them about it, being that I DID NOT RECEIVE A PACKAGE. They escalate my trouble report so they can investigate where my package is, but it's been over a week and they have not contacted me. I've called and asked what the status is and they have nothing to say to me, except We're looking into it, but it'd be better if YOU contact UPS to find your package. It's July 23, 2006 now, and I still haven't heard from them. Each time I've called in they've just given me the run around. I'm out of patience and an Xbox 360.

432.89 - cost of Xbox 360, Microsoft will not refund this amount nor exchange for a new or working Xbox 360

I placed a Pre-order for an XBOX 360 in May of 2005, in the amount of 50. It is over a year now and I have not received the product. The receipt say's No refund. Unopend items can be exchanged for an item of equal or less value. I have called numerous times to see if they have the XBOX and they do not. When I ask the sales person why he doesn't have the product, he says, I don't know. I could go anywhere and get a 360 now, but they have fifty of my hard-earned dollars. You could say Well, why don't you just exchange it for a game and go buy your xbox somewhere else? I would do that if they had more than 5 poor games to choose from. (I would be insane to ask them to order a game for me.) I just want my XBOX 360 or my 50. That's all. If I would have known this from the beginning I would have invested that 50 and actually had a return on it. As I'm sure they have done.

No game system. No refund.

Mike of North Bay, OTHER June 7, 2006

Mike of North Bay Canada (06/07/06)
I purchased an xbox 360 during xmas. I bought the expensive pack with the hard drive and the wireless controller and 1 game. The cost of the purchase was over 700. I have had the system and still only 1 game(though I have rented a few) for 6 months and have been having problems with it. I really do not play that much as I have a family and a full time job. So I call their help line 1 800 4my xbox. and deal with 3 different people. As it turns out in the end the hard drive that I had to pay extra money for in the first place is bad and they do not cover any issue with it. As for the console their may be an issue also which will cost me a minimum of 159 for repairs plus my shipping a 10 pound paper weight. So for me to fix the console and buy a new hard drive this system has cost me 1000. As for their warranty, they only cover a 90 day period on the console itself and if the hard drive is what broke the console then it is my bad luck.
