Blue Haven Pools |

The complaints below are just a few of the pages of anguished tales we've received from Blue Haven customers. If you are even thinking of building a pool, you owe it to yourself to read and ponder these accounts ... and to read the advice of a former pool salesman. Brenda of Berkeley Springs, WV May 3, 2007 Brenda of Berkeley Springs WV (05/03/07) I can't get anyone to return my phone call. They keep adding and changing information every time there is an issue. I have asked for these documents to be faxed numerous times and still nothing. The general manager even admitted that there were communication problems within his organization and he was working on that. Since then, he has yet to return my phone calls. I have the subcontractors calling me to see if the rebar is complete and shell placed? Why are they calling me? You have to pay most of the money up front so they have the chunk of money they want, I guess they feel the home owner can wait. I will NOT recommend Blue Haven Pools to anyone in our area. I tried calling the main customer service number and can't get anyone there to return my phone calls either. This was to be an exciting experience instead it has been a major headache. Maria of Rowland Heights, CA March 21, 2007 Maria of Rowland Heights CA (03/21/07) They did some kind of improvised repair, but the result is unsatisfactory because the water still drops unevenly. For the price that I paid for my pool, the end product of my pool is totally unacceptable, with regard to the water feature. And the feature still does not light up as agreed to in my contract. Genevieve at Blue Haven customer service was quick to call for payment, but curt and rude whenever I had a question about anything regarding my concerns over the pool's construction progress. I paid alot of money for the pool, and I feel that I should get my money's worth by getting the water feature that I paid for. I got a cheap makeshift water feature that does not light up. All I want is for Blue Haven to fix it and construct it the way I originally wanted it. Your of Friendlyville, CA March 7, 2007 Friend of CA (03/07/07) I am a sub contractor for a Blue Haven office in California. I can tell you that sometimes there are indeed customers who do not fully understand the process and certainly do not get the fact that once the pool is complete that any issues with the circulation and filtering system are manufacture warranties, and that they are better off contacting the manufacture themselves in order to get a qualified individual out to address the issues as opposed to expecting any Blue Haven office to send out a qualified person to diagnose any kind of service related issue. I absolutely cringe every time I hear a GM say, send out the super to see what is wrong before we call a real technician to resolve the issue. In just about all these cases the super is absolutely the most unqualified person to make any kind of a diagnosis or determination on the issue at hand. You also must understand that they will indeed send out the person that cost them the least, regardless of whether they have any clue at all about what it is they are diagnosing. Basically, they send a boy to do a mans job, and don't care that they could have sent someone out that was more qualified the first time, and spent a few dollars more to make sure they got the right man on the job. So my advice would be if you a have an equipment related issue, DO NOT waste your time calling Blue Haven. Contact the manufacture and they will send out an individual who is fully qualified to diagnose and resolve the issue in a timely fashion. Paul of Hesperia, CA January 31, 2007 Paul of Hesperia CA (01/31/07) The pool was done in a timely manner but with many problems. The solar pipe was put in too shallow because their trencher broke, so they (the solar installers) put part of it in the retaining wall trench. The pipe was broke and dirt went into the filter and pump. Rocks remain in the system from this. The filter leaks. Solar leaks on the roof and is doing some water damage to the wood. The pump stopped working the first week of start-up. They used an air sander to sand the rough areas and the plaster dust went into our filters. Water level would go down about 1 to 2 inches a day even without swimming, they said it was evaporation but it goes down even in the winter at freezing temps. Air bubbles are continually coming out of nearest jet to the filter the entire time the pool is running. We were told that there was a battery back up in the control box in case the electric should go out and there is not one. Sales person said it had a battery back-up, I asked over and over about it and he said it has one so that we would not have to worry about resetting the program. Power went off and the program was lost. Now Blue Haven says it does not have this feature. When Blue Haven contacted us about this we asked about the things we have complained about and have not been finished. They said that they thought it was finished because of the workers that they sent out. Every time they sent a worker out, they either could not do the work or said they would have to come back at a later date. This went on for months. Everyone that was sent out to our house was not a Blue Haven employee but rather a contracted worker. They usually did not know what they were there for or did not have the ability to do the work.
