Blue Haven Pools

The complaints below are just a few of the pages of anguished tales we've received from Blue Haven customers. If you are even thinking of building a pool, you owe it to yourself to read and ponder these accounts ... and to read the advice of a former pool salesman.

Beverly of Baton Rouge LA (10/24/06)
Blue Haven is the biggest rip off. They want your money up front and they'll do the work when they feel like. They only use subcontractors so your job gets put in line whenever they can get to it. Do your homework and stay far away from Blue Haven. Their employees aren't even happy to be there and aren't allowed to make decisions. When you call the Baton Rouge office they put you on hold so they can call the New Orleans office to get answers from Judy who schedules the jobs at her leisure. Her name is Judy Abadie and her boss is Wesley Whitfield and they are both jackasses. The poor secretary in the Baton Rouge office is the only person there with a conscience.

WORST BUSINESS EXPERIENCE IN 40 YEARS!!! Once contract was signed, it was though we did not exist. No phone calls were returned by the local Manager even when I communicated with the Contract Office that I was considering cancelling the contract during the 3 day waiting period. Spent HOURS chasing Blue Haven personnel on the phone regarding issues/concerns/problems. Same experience after pool was completed (the pool itself is excellent thanks to subcontractors, no thanks to Blue Haven).

During my career I have managed operations with up to 300+ employees. If this were my company, I would start at the top and fire everyone the first day on the job. Have had problems with Viper Pool Sweep also but they have been rectified, thanks again to subcontractor, not Blue Haven. Bottom line...worst company I have dealt with, EVER!

No physical damage. Economic damage from lost time when I could have been taking care of my business. As a result of their zero communication policy to resolve problems/issues during construction, I was forced to turn down business (@1000/day) so that I could remain at home to personally supervise the operation.

Signed contract on April 22, 2006. The washed up used car salesman Tony told me we would be swimming bu July 4th. It is now past Labor Day and we still are not finished. They take forever to return calls. They cut and now have blocked my sump pump discharge line after I showed them all where it was before excavation. I have yet to receive the solar umbrella I was promised at contract. The pool is beautiful and I am happy with the product so far, but I would NEVER hire Blue Haven to build a pool for me.

I tell everyone I know that Blue Have nis awful. They are rude on the phone when & if you ever do get to talk to someone. They lie about every phase. They dont follow up on their subs. They do not care about the customer at all. They feel once they have the first check they have you in a full nelson headlock. From the permit stage to pool school every scheduled date has been pushed back sometimes with a phone call. Tony and Tom are not to ever come on my property ever again. I work in the customer service industry and on my wall in my office, I put up a sign that says treat them better than Blue Haven treats you..

Nat of Las Vegas, NV September 13, 2006

My pool was completed around the 15th of April, 2006. From almost day one, I have had issues with maintaining my water level with an average of a 2 inch loss of water per day. This being a salt water pool, it has been necessary to add 40lbs of salt every six weeks or so plus chemicals. They keep telling me that it is evaporation. While I agree that we have severe evaporation in the desert where is the salt going? Trying to contact Blue Haven is difficult at best. The Blue Haven rep who is in charge of dealing with issues such as this is either on another line, out to lunch or with a customer. Needless to say, I feel that they are ignoring me on this matter. Frankly, next time I build a pool, Blue Haven will not be on my list of potential pool builders.

Joan of Glendale, AZ (08/13/06)
On 2/12/06 we foolishly signed a contract with Blue Haven without letting our attorney review it first. It is now 8/13/06 and our pool is still not done.

They also would not come out and finish our gate as requested several times. On 8/11, they claimed they would send a crew out with a new gate after the original one had failed city inspection 3 times. We just want the pool finished but because of the unfinished gate they will not pour the plaster.

They have not shown up to finish the gate and after reading all these complaints against them I am really scared to let them finish the inside of the pool.
